Not sure what you mean. What error do you get?

Getting back to Panda Dome, I was slightly disappointed to find that it's an online cloud scanner, not something with works locally. However, for something which is supposedly lightweight, it seems to have installed a lot of things on the machine! When I ran the installer, I was offered to tick an 'offline installation' option. This I did, thinking it would be a good idea. When I checked after installation, there seemed to be three new services added 'Panda Cloud Antivirus Service', 'Panda Devices Agent', and 'Panda Product Services'. So far, so good. What I then found though was that there were now no less than 11 (!) new .sys files in the System32\Drivers folder. All relating to Panda Dome. What they all do, I do not know. I'm now wondering if they are something to do with the 'offline installation' option, and they're something to do with keeping the protection working if the machine is offline. The other thing which disappointed me is that there seems to be no automatic scheduled scanning option, which I've always used on Malwarebytes. Perhaps it's in one of the paid versions, I will have to investigate.

Off-topic, but thanks. I have version 14.28.29213 at the moment, so this update is worth having!

Interesting. This is off-topic of course, but my .NET 4 is recorded as being version 4.0.30320 everywhere in the registry, although its files are still in a folder called 4.0.30319! I wonder what was actually updated to bump the version number. Sorry the new files didn't fix your Panda Dome display problem.

This one I installed years ago when it was released. But I don't think that other Visual C++ versions are responsible for the issues I noticed regarding Panda Dome under Windows XP. In the meanwhile, I have updated Visual C++ 2010 to version 10.0.40219.473 but the issue is still there. Additionally, I repaired my Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 installation as there was indeed a problem. But even this doesn't seem to have any effect on my issue.

@Reino Would you be able to compile OpenSSL shared libraries 3.6.0 64-bit for use in Windows 7 (Python 3.14.2 from adang1345)? The shared libraries from e.g. here are named libssl-3-x64.dll and libcrypto-3-x64.dll, which Python 64-bit doesn't recognise (see also post above) They should be named libssl-3.dll and libcrypto-3.dll instead.

I recently came across: Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2015-2019 for Windows XP. I posted about it with a link in the 'OpenSSL for Windows XP' thread. I don't fully understand the 'OpenSSL' idea but doing a search I came across this version of Microsoft Visual C++. Is this version of any use here? It did install on my Windows XP setup. Everything below is from the link. Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2015-2019 for Windows XP Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 v16.7 Redistributable v14.27.29114 XP https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/2883-microsoft-visual-c-redist-2015-2019-for-windows-xp/ About This File: This is the official installer for Visual C++ Redist 2015-2019 downloaded directly from Microsoft's website. This version is the last one to support Windows XP, even though Microsoft links to an older version. There was never a 2015-2022 redistributable installer for Windows XP. This is intended for Windows XP since that Operating System is good for older games and EAX support. This will ensure the latest redistributable is installed on the system for those games to use. Zip file contains installers for x86, x64, and arm64 systems. Just run the one you need. For x64 systems install both x86 and x64. What's New in Version 14.29.30139 Released March 22, 2024 Provided a newer version than what the Microsoft website linked to by default, I have confirmed it installable on Windows XP. Previous version can still be downloaded just in case. ...

First of all, thanks for uploading the files! I was surprised to learn that there is supposed to be a .NET Framework version 4.0.30320 for Windows XP. I couldn't find anything about it in any official source. In any case, your installer "Microsoft .NET 4.0.30320 Full" is the same one I have, and it has the number 4.0.30319.1. Presumably, at least for Windows XP, there is no version 4.0.30320. You can find out your current version installed with the following command: reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full" /v Version Although it is actually Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319, I have nevertheless found a reference to version 4.0.30320 in Windows XP. Apparently, the Client Profile and the Extended are assigned exactly this version number:

Seeing you've included my 'libcrypto-3.dll' and 'libssl-3.dll' within your 'Python311_XP-folder.7z', I guess that's my confirmation.

I will try later. In any case, thanks again!

That hotfix was previously under https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54179 but bad MS have now removed that link ; I haven't tried the Internet Archive for retrieval, because abbodi1406 has already archived that link: http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/E/0/EE05C9EF-A661-4D9E-BCE2-6961ECDF087F/vcredist_x86.exe Mind you, despicable MS had shadow-banned his GitHub repo, thankfully a GitLab mirror exists: https://gitlab.com/stdout12/vcredist/-/tree/master/source_links?ref_type=heads

There's another strange issue I have run into with StartAllBack. With many programs that have a menu bar below the titlebar, if you click an empty portion of that menu the titlebar stops reacting until focus is manually changed somewhere else, like you click on an actual menu item or click somewhere outside the program window. Happens for example in Notepad++, Everything (from Voidtools), partially in Sysinternals Process Explorer. Process Explorer is special, it still shows the hover effects, though with a lag, but the buttons don't react.

I got everything to my liking. The AV receiver in the living room is my only truly awesome surround sound receiver. But I don't watch "everything" from the living room. :) With the combination of OS-level EQ (Equalizer APO + Peace GUI) coupled with browser-level compressor (Volume Limiter), I am now greatly satisfied with my streaming experiences. Whether in the living room with Dolby Atmos 7.2 fed from HDMI or whether in the computer room with nothing but a three-speaker left/right/subwoofer fed from a 3.5mm (1/8") phono jack. Whether background audio while sitting at the bill-pay computer or streaming anything from YouTube, Pluto, Plex, Tubi, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Paramount+, or Comcast/Xfinity. And I no longer have to stub a toe running for the remote's volume buttons when a loud scene breaks out or two people start whispering for no reason whatsoever, nobody else is on the set, why whisper?

Finally got more around banging head to wall with this. It seems it cant be simply made to work on 95. Was thinking could R. Loew dllhook used with Windows 98/SE version of kernel32.dll to work around some of the limitations, or is there other way to do it? If I try simple way just copying kernel32.dll from Windows 98 into Pidgin program folder and renaming it kernel98.dll, then using hex editor to change all references inside Pidgin file from kernel32 to kernel98.dll it results error in kernel32 that it was meant for newer version of windows. I have no idea how dll checks for kernel build version and how to spoof it.

Definitely KB2890375. That is recorded as being installed in my system registry. KB2890573 isn't mentioned in the registry at all, so can't be installed on my system. I have a hotfix installation file for 'MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (10.0.40219.473)', so that's presumably what I have installed.

... Well then, not wanting to "burst anyone's bubbles" , but, perhaps, Adlice's "idea" of WinXP support is just what has been confirmed so far by your (and AstroSkipper's) tests: on-demand manual scans, only (i.e., you still need a Win7+ OS and a paid-for licence for real-time-protection to be effective); on a side note, Adlice's homepage doesn't breathe much confidence to me ; it appears they couldn't be bothered to change the copyright year to the current value: https://www.adlice.com/roguekiller/ And, FWIW, the support forum (intended to help users of the "free" version) has been turned into read-only mode: https://forum.adlice.com/index.php?topic=3890.0
