After installing  3.8.2 it fixed the wrong preview order I've mentioed here

The desktop mirrored pic is still presented though,

But aside from that now I've got a new bug,
It's rare and hard to triggerr, but once in a while the taskbar previews now will hide behind a window.
I.e. when you have have an app or any kind of window presented in full size, and you place your mouse over an app icon in the taskbar to see its preview, the preview will show up... beneath said window,
So you have to minimize the window at least once in order to see it again :0

Hi

Following issue after StartAllBack update to 3.8.2:

I don't have any icons (play, next...) on Windows taskbar thumbnail preview (MediaMonkey). See attached file/pic. Other programms like mpc-hc show me icons.
Is this "bug" known?

After turn off StartAllBack all icons are shown.

@Tihiy,

I want to clarify what "No 7+ Taskbar Tweaker or taskbar hacks expected to work" means, if possible.

1. Does it mean that the compatibility of the current version with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker or other taskbar hacks is broken and their developers should add this compatibility, or that tweaking is no longer possible at all and, for example, the developer of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker will not be able to add this compatibility at all?

2. If he can't, are you going to add features from 7+ Taskbar Tweaker such as "Don't group" and "Close by Middle click"? Actually, these two features are all I need to give up 7+ Taskbar Tweaker or WindHawk.

I'd love to see the "close on middle click" functionality of 7 Taskbar Tweaker implemented as well.

I'll also miss the "double click to open" function (since my fat fingers often missclicks) but I imagine I'm alone with liking that feature lol.

Hey,

I really like the application and have it installed on my two win11 pro machines. On my desktop it behaves like it should, almost zero complains, but on my laptop if I search for anything settings related when using the start menu, e.g., if I type in bluetooth and hit enter, it always sends me to the main settings page instead. I already tried to reinstall it, unfortunately to no luck.

Can anybody help? Thanks in advance.

The START menu still behaves strangely when I click the mouse until I press the WIN key, then the START menu appears correctly.

W22H2 SAB 3.8.1

For a while the latest version of SAB seemed to fix the problem, but it reappeared. Out of nowhere. After some time when everything worked correctly :-(.

With 3.8.2, some "WIN+" keyboard shortcuts are still broken.

  1. "WIN + SHIFT + NUM".  E.g.: When similar windows are grouped as 1st app on the taskbar, holding "WIN" and then pressing "1" starts cycling through these windows FORWARD. Now DON'T release "WIN" but hold "Win + Shift", and pressing "1" should cycle through these windows BACKWARD. But with 3.8.2, "WIN + SHIFT + NUM" always launches a new instance of the app on that position, which should only be the case when users haven't initiated such cycling.
  2. "WIN + CTRL + NUM".  Holding "Win + Ctrl" and pressing "Num", this combination should initiate a direct switching through the windows grouped on that position in MRU order (no pop-ups shown above the taskbar), but with 3.8.2, pressing it does the same as pressing only "WIN + NUM", which should only be true if there's only one window on that position.

All these are working well with 3.7.11.

Progress in taskbar not reseting with Total Commander is fixed in version 3.8.2, thanks, but can we please have at least an option to turn previous 3.7.11 version progress style where green bar fill whole task?

Tiny progress in 3.8.2 version is a dealbreaker for me (second picture), 3.7.11 style was MUCH more noticeable and usable, at least for me...as I said, please give us an option to use "old" style "full green" progress in taskbar, thanks.

Regards

I actually prefer the new progress bar, m ore subtle and in tone with the rest of the taskbar. So it's preference, not absolute.

I also prefer the new Progress Bar (the one from W11 24h2)
It's just a shame that Microsoft finally removed that very ugly green that we had for decades (to replace it with the accent color), but with SAB it's still green :(

There's no use for RudeWindowFixer, it's already incorporated in. I'm not sure about your scenario:

- You have fullscreen app on main monitor

- You press Windows key to open start menu on main monitor

- You move window to the edge of the secondary monitor

Yeah, this doesn't seem to work. I didn't even think about this scenario.

I guess you were able to reproduce the same issue? I am not moving any windows to the edge but just trying to click taskbar windows when I work on the secondary screen with a full screen window on primary. In the latest 3.8.3 the issue is still there for now.

Edit: 3.7.11 the taskbar worked perfectly fine with no issues. The only small issue was having a thin margin line showing with through all screens with autohide on 3.7.11 version.

3.8.3 partially fixed "WIN + CTRL + NUM", but the switching ORDER through these windows on that position is not right. With 3.7.11 or without SAB, they are cycled through in the "Most recently used" order (i.e. the order they're previously visited), but now they're just cycled in sequential order.

Another issue is that 3.8.3 switches to the wrong window after you switch away from these windows and then switch back. E.g.: There are 4 windows in the 1st position on the taskbar, and I'm now focusing on the 2nd one and switch away to another window (NOT the ones in the 1st position). When I press "WIN + CTRL + 1", it should bring the focus back to the 2nd window at the 1st position on the taskbar, but 3.8.3 focuses on the 3rd window.

It's best to try yourself to see the order in which these windows are restored without SAB or with 3.7.11. It seems 3.8.3 bypasses the MRU (Most recently used) order list kept by the OS.

In StartAllBack versions 3.8 to 3.8.3 I noticed a couple potential bugs.

1) In Windows Settings - Time and Language - Date and TIme - Show Time and Date in the System Tray - The change is not shown automatically when toggling the taskbar clock on or off, instead explorer must be restarted to make the change take effect.

2) In Personalization - Taskbar - Taskbar behaviors - Show seconds in system tray clock - Again the changes are not shown until explorer is restarted.

I noticed in SAB v 3.7.xx both changes were shown automatically when toggled in Windows Settings.

3) Not sure if it's been addressed yet, but after running sysprep in v 3.8 and 3.8.1 the file explorer icon is missing from the taskbar in Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 with startallback installed. Disabling or uninstalling startallback v3.8 / 3.8.1 and using the default Windows 11 taskbar the file explorer icon is present. This bug was not present in 3.7.xx versions of startallback.

Thanks Tihiy.

Eh. You have fullscreen on primary and move cursor to the edge on secondary, that's it?
