Works, has country flags (Segoe UI Emoji only has few proper flags), but much less readable than Segoe UI Emoji.

I can confirm that.
The flags now work, but all the emojis are faint and indistinct.
That is really noticeable on the Instagram comments, where they are much smaller, some now are barely readable.

The previous version of that font implemented some code to make it thicker but the build process took so long the author left the thicker-fallback variant out of the newer release. I decided to build the font and it took 2 days (with huge breaks because electricity problems lately). Here there are --> https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1hf8d38zg8seq/Fonts

There is one that is original and one that has the fake Segoe UI Emoji ID.

If you want to use the original instead the CSS name is "Twitter Color Emoji Thick"

Regarding Unicode compatibility with XP I also found some fonts that may be useful to some.

- Code2000 --> http://www.code2000.net/ (Huge Unicode compatibility for Plane 0)

The other downloads are for Plane 1 and Plane 2.

Unicode Planes --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane_(Unicode)

And,

- Arial Unicode MS --> https://www.download-free-fonts.com/details/88978/arial-unicode-ms --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arial_Unicode_MS

They are very good fonts for wide unicode coverage.

@Humming Owl I have tested 360 extreme explorer and minibrowser. The 360 extreme explorer browser is good, unfortunately it hangs from time to time. I found the minibrowser the best. It looks the most like Chrome. This browser is also the most stable. On the whole, you can say that both are good. It would be nice if there was an installer, because currently it's a bit cumbersome to access the browser.

Best regards :)

Thanks for the review. Did your tests were with v13?. If so I hope that the issues with 360EE can be fixed when the lastest release of the browser is out. I really don't know how to make an installer for something like this, but if someone knows how to do that I can give it a try.

I'm going to leave my fonts as is, but youtube is still messed up on my Arctic Foxie 360 V11 and on some sites but fine with Serpent and FF 52.9.1. spacer.png

These are my settings - I've not changed them and left them at the defaults.

You can use this extension, might work --> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/change-webpage-fonts/afelmehoohjbjfpjbadonkcondbilglp

Cheers.

I tried both versions of the font you uploaded to Mediafire, but neither seem to be any better than the one I've already got I'm afraid.
With both of them the Instagram and YouTube icons are still indistinct and in black and white.
Looking at your naming, do they actually only work with Twitter icons?

Mozilla adds its own emoji font, a font that does not work as a system font, a font that does not work as a Chromium font.
It's a Mozilla font and Mozilla is "hard-coded" to take advantage of that font.  Don't know "how", per se.
Mozilla adds its own emoji font, it all boils down to that.

Can you send some screenshots using both Segoe UI Emoji original and the Twitter Emoji font to compare?

Twitter emojis are SVG images loaded within the text, this font is a way to have those SVG images as a font to use in websites or for personal use.

There is no "modification fix" to v11 to resolve rem/em fonts.  These will always occur with Chromium v69 browsers.

This "bug" dates back to 2013 (circa version 24 through 31) and was never fixed until v79 (after originally being scheduled for v77 (I've read some unverified reports that some users of v81 still have this rem/em font-size issue).

I fix these using Proxomitron, they can just as easily be fixed via Tampermonkey.  Another fix is Stylus.

Or just fix them "when encountered" by using the "Inspect" console and unchecking the problematic font-family or font-size.

I like your V11 and can live with this minor issue and continue to use it as my default so long as still functional :)

OK, here's the comparison.
This with your font.

And this with the original font.

The difference isn't huge, but when the emojis are small, like on Instagram and YouTube comments, it is significant, with the latter version much more legible.

I have tested v13 and older versions. Unfortunately, they all hang after a short time.:no: As I said, minibrowser is my favourite so far.

Any thoughts @Humming Owl?
Your font does have full support for the flags, which is good, but it's  a shame if there's no font with full emoji support which is as clear as the default Windows 10 font.

I really didn't experience any crashes (I've only used lower versions of the browser for XP). I believe crashes might happen frecuently on newer hardware because Chrome tries to use those resources but they are unreachable just because the OS can't allow the browser for using them (but it is just a guess maybe is the same for older computers).

Either way, glad you liked MiniBrowser.

I think I can add flag support directly to the Segoe UI Emoji with FontForge. I can link the flags to substitute the letters, but it will take a while because there are a few of them. In that way you can conserve the Segoe UI Emoji and the flags from Twitter Color Emoji.

---

Added lastest 13.0 version of the browser (13.0.2310.0) in English and Chinese.

I will update all v9, v11, v12 and v13.0.2250.0 with some small changes that I noticed when editing 13.0.2310.0

Cheers.

Thanks, that would be great!
