List of software that doesn't support Windows 7

I am curious if someone has managed to get newer Microsoft 365 versions to run on Windows 7. Since v2002 is very outdated, I would like to know if newer versions could be ported back.

On 8.1, support ended with v2301 but I managed to install the latest v2409 (beta) and except OneNote, all Office programs seem to work

Would definitely be curious to try this out!

But how to go about installing it?

I am still on version 2002...

Actually, I got v2007 to run on Windows 7. I think compatibility was broken somewhere between v2008-v2011 since v2101 does not work. I haven‘t even tried Office 2021 or above. It‘s hard to find older preserved Microsoft 365 versions tbh

Mozilla just extended Firefox 115 ESR support for another 6 months. The official EOL is in March 2025

If it was 2018 and I'd be using XP/Vista at that time, this would have been great news (52.10, 52.11...) but both my 7 and 8.1 machines have the latest version (130) installed so I really don't care..

And how did you manage to install v2007? Did you download setup files via command line and did the installer work?

I think version 2007 probably doesn't have much added value compared to 2002 at this point?

Microsoft Teams on Windows 7 has about one more month to go before being terminated:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/teams-classic-client-end-of-availability

"Starting October 23, 2024, classic Teams won't be available on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1; and macOS Sierra (10.12), High Sierra (10.13) and Mojave (10.14). If you use classic Teams on these systems, you'll see warning messages starting in August. On October 23, 2024, you won't be able to use the classic Teams app anymore. If you can't update your Windows to a supported browser, you can use the new Teams web app in a supported browser instead."

For some reason on Windows 10 it will be possible to use classic Teams until July 2025.

I was wondering whether the new Teams client could be made to work with VxKex (it's possible to download the .msix installer and extract the files), but I have not examined this more.

Mojang (or I would say Microsoft, I'm certain that this decision doesn't come from Mojang themselves) is ending support for the Minecraft "legacy" MSI launcher in March 2025. After that date, it'll remain usable, but no more updates.

I downloaded v2007 Offline Installer and used the YAOCTRU Tool from abbodi at MDL

Since Office 2024 has been released, I am going to try it out on 8.1
