@Tamris, same here, don’t post there myself but do visit occasionally because of the many links to good articles. No sense wasting my time arguing about it, let them have their quantum, I suspect it’s not long for this world anyway.

this is one of the many reasons why I have never donated a single cent to Mozilla company

they don't want to provide official support anymore... it's OK

they have erased the developers labor of thousands of hours over the years and want to force me to stay up to date... it's incomprehensible.

sooner or later the Windows updates servers for XP will get shut down as well.

@roytam1 we count on you. you are our hope !

If this will happen we might just set up an unofficial windows update site. And get the full functionality somehow:)

Avast recognized recent Basilisk.exe from Roytam1 as malware by heuristic engine. I reported that to Avast as false positive.

Heuristic engines are always snake oil (so is Norton's SONAR engine), never trust it. It is always good to disable it, in case you can't do so, add exclusion to folders you don't want it to scan.

Was having this problem with Norton Power Eraser deleting the exe files for both New Moon and Basilisk (false positivee results) - Thank you for the clarification Roytam1.

Not the New Moon (PM28XP) ones... They point to versions 28.2.0a1, while on the server the appVersion is 28.3.0a1 (which is correct)...
