  2. After MSE stopped updating back in 2019, I switched to Malwarebytes and it worked perfectly fine for me. The only con is that it's paid, but oh well.
  3. During COVID, I started deleting my accounts on all major social media sites and since then, life has been WAY better. I now only communicate via E-mail, IRC or forums. Because Facebook is still very popular in my country, people look at me, especially at High school, as if I'm a caveman, but it might due to the fact that I use a Nokia 1600 as my daily phone. There is no need for me to have it, as our school provides every student with an e-mail address, where all school related stuff should go, not on crappy Facebook Messenger!!
  4. ...and that's why I will never, ever buy a 'modern' car. Cars are driven by drivers, not bells and whistles that break down after the warranty expires. A car with electronic fuel injection, ABS and disc brakes all around is more than enough IMO. Hand cranked windows and sunroof FTW!
  5. It occurs when the component object model of Microsoft Update or Windows Update (mainly ActiveX, etc.) is not available for some reason. So if it's blocked and cannot be downloaded, the error occurs.
  6. You can't just get it, you have to earn it...
  7. Server OSes don't need to have fancy graphics, heck, even command line interface is enough to do most of the tasks.
  8. They upgraded to ASPX, because it was better and allowed the use of C#, VB.NET and other languages, while ASP used VBScript for its code and was limited to IIS(Internet Information Services) only, IIRC.
  9. We need to do something to keep MSFN up, it can't just end this way!

We are working on a solution. For now MSFN will remain online as long as donations are coming in.
      Thank you

Wait what happened? TLDR? I just assumed donations were broken, and the site is in danger of closing again? Sad if MSFN closed down.

  10. Copyright dates are usually coded to be dynamic, as it's faster and easier then manually editing and updating by hand, especially if there are a few hundred pages, so it doesn't tell much if he's around or not..
  11. I had this exact problem some time ago and the only solution was to extract the installer and run it directly. Worked for me.
  12. My current one is a MyPhone 6110, not a bad phone, but feels kinda cheap. I used to have a Nokia 1616 (my first ever phone), 1661 and a 1110. I do also have a 'smart'phone, which is an Xioami Redmi 6, though I only use it as an internet source currently.
  13. I like the rounded corners, but in general the UI looks like KDE/MacOS
  14. MSFN is finally back on-line..! :)

@Mr.Scienceman2000 I have no idea either why MSFN went offline all of a sudden. At first, I thought I had a problem with the network and tried hard to fix it, but then I thought: "maybe the site is having difficultes, let's wait a few days", and then, here you go. thank goodness it got fixed. I also check MSFN everyday, and feeling glad that I can post now, yaaaaay :)

But, unfortunately, all donations in this forum has been reset after it exceeded $183.00 :(

I hope donations start appearing again.

@mina354, I thought that Russian users were banned from connecting to MSFN once again because it was unavailable for years in this country.

It was unavailable? Gee, that's too sad to hear.

  15. Greetings, I would want my username to be changed from Nojus2001 to NojusK. Thanks..
  16. Time to replace incompatible MSO.DLL with the last one that was working.
  17. Great Mainly because I know that I'm not alone owning a daily 30 yrs old car and is interested in technology of the past..
  18. No, I used to say also that I will use WinXP forever too, but it became unusable for my everyday needs, so I switched to q4OS Linux with xpq4 theme and from then I never looked back at it. Of course I still keep an XP VM around, If I need software that does not work with wine...
  19. I definitely agree with you, older electronics were built to last, that's why I love using them over new ones for sure! Even Soviet electronics, that were told to be avoided, still last for me to this day without any major repairs.
  20. My Vista experience is okay, being a long time Win7 user, it wasn't hard to adapt Vista for the first time, it felt so smooth and well put together with SP2 + updates to 2020. I think it's still a very good usable option for legacy Windows users that has a stable extended kernel
  21. I hate when people use that responsive web design with some heavy java script on their websites..

Mhm, go look at my thread about MEGA.NZ users and why I get annoyed whenever I see anyone using it especially here of all places :/

Yeah js is everywhere and it's annoying :x

The design should be renamed "unresponsive". It apparently exists to enforce planned obsolescence of computers and, probably more likely, "devices". I'm particularly annoyed by forums being replace by "free, modern, secure and up-to-date" alternatives like Discourse, which until recently couldn't even be read in old browsers, or any of those strangely threaded engines with replies out of order. Old forums, like Doom9 fly on any computer.

""free, modern, secure and up-to-date" alternatives like Discourse"

I remember someone suggested replacing the RPi forums to Discourse. I mentioned the fact it would probably be unusable on the Pi itself. Pretty much ended the whole discussion and any future consideration.

  22. Not so long ago installed Server 2008 SP2 and I'm wondering what are the updates to install the ESU updates from M$?
