  1. Sure.Its gonna cost though
  2. YAY! Finally what we've been waiting for since months makes its appearance. Thanks wraith! It will prolly make its way into my uA this week or so..... For anyone who isn't able to get past the first screen, the only hint I can give is read the "Warranty" Section carefully to activate the "Continue" button.
  3. wrong I did think so, and I found out its not that way. The only definite way is to go with what the setupmgr creates for you - just notice where it puts quotes and where it doesn't. And for values that setupmgr won't create, you have ref.chm in deploy.cab.
  4. I have said it a hundred times and will say it again. Making users/password thru batch-files and auto-login is not for the beginner. See all the crap you had to sort through and deal with? Why won't new-comers listen, and just use an easier way! Look in link below, both your first and second problem is solved. Microsoft recommends the oobeinfo.ini method - read more. And PLEASE stop blaming every error you come across, on SP2.
  5. How to crash win98 - (Note: this is not illegal in any way) It is not difficult to crash windows 98. You could do this in win95 as well. Make sure no open files or important apps are running, close all windows. Run command.exe type DEBUG to start the debugging utility that came with DOS The C prompt now becomes a hyphen. at the hyphen, key in he following line - f 0:0 ffff 0Press <Enter> and your screen will go haywire and computer hangs. You will have to do a restart manually to get back to booting windows again. What has happened is you filled the first megabyte of your memory with zeroes (thereby "kicking" the OS kernel) which should not really have happened if the VMM was monitoring what was done. Today windows 98 is mostly being used in commercial, public-access PCs (like in internet access centres). I happen to know some people who go to those places and put the the above in a batch-file, compile it to EXE and get task scheduler to run it every 60 minutes. Its not a surprise that within a week the owner wants to upgrade to a newer version (giving up win98 for good) - and these guys get good money to do the upgrade. Post the above info everywhere you want - spread the gospel. Crap, if nothing else, atleast the above should scare you (I mean, any win98 lover) to move to win2k/XP.
  6. The omega drivers is only a modified INF I think? All DLLs are same?just asking... Yup, old CPL is good. The new CCC package based on .net seems not needed at the moment - plus, including the .net driver will not allow auto-detection based on INF (oempnpdriverspath) like we do currently.
  7. @phoenix_nf Exactly. Its sad to see you lose invites, you know..... Its quite precious currently. Because of your invites being in sig, a lot of people who aren't even registered on this forum are ripping you off. Even ppl who already have accounts become greedy and take your invite. Give invites by PM/email, and give only to those with atleast a certain number of posts. And Read below announcement pls. @Lee That's true. But I was not mentioning that. When you click on an invite, you will see the "SECONDARY EMAIL ADDRESS" field. Normally, it is your own address if you have posted the invite (because you sent it to yourself). In that way, your email address is exposed to all. You do know that anyone with a gMail account still is in some sort of privileged group. So spammers will be very happy to get your "SENT FROM" email address. So do not post invites publicly, just PM it or email it. ANNOUNCEMENT: I say this again. And it is for everyone's interest. Do not reveal your email address (to receive invite) here. And do not post invite publicly here. If you want a Gmail account, post a reply in this thread saying that you are looking for an invite. Whoever has invites to spare, will contact you by PM and ask you to provide your first name, last name, and email address. Reply to the PM with those details and the person will send you an invite at the email address you provided. Once you have received your invite, post a thanks here in this thread - or the person who sent you an invite will make a post saying who has been sent invites. If you already have a Gmail account, do not be greedy and do not ask for more accounts (so that others who DON'T have Gmail will benefit). All who have invites to give, or are LOOKING for invites to receive SHOULD read this announcement.
  8. Blam-O!, it will be very surprising if it works that way. Have you looked in at all, to see the setup functions? (no offense meant) It uses a .WIM (windows image) instead of the methods in XP.
  9. Hello mikku, welcome to msfn! You can use the WinPE method. But if you're just beginning out with uA installs, you might find it a waste of time and effort to go to winpe just now. Simply do it manually for now.
  10. ****! Since the last 6 months there seems to be a new release almost every week.
  11. Please do not multi-post.
  12. You can make a multi-boot disk. Or just stay with RIS images on server.
  13. That dialog box might be configured by the user profile. If so, you need to import your old %appdata%\Netscape folder where it is already configured.
  14. Hello John O, Welcome to msfn forums!
  15. this is an FAQ ? FAQ? How F... (sorry, frequent) is it ? About as frequently as the OEMpreInstall=yes question here?
  16. ROFL ! yeah, been months past when it was supposed to be submitted! But on a more serious note, looks like he's almost finished and will have it out soon.

  18. Have you come across a great news site or forum/board, only to be told that you have to register before accessing it? And you don't feel like registering? Use BUG ME NOT. It even has a firefox extension. http://bugmenot.com/ why you shouldn't register BugMeNot - FAQ
  19. http://rapidshare.de is a great way of transferring files upto 20 MB in size. Free upload, and download with minimal hassles. One problem though exists. read to find out how to solve it:
  20. Where's the any key?I see no such key labelled as "any" on my keyboard...
  21. Thanks Lee, for testing it for us. I would like to say though, that posting your invite links publicly might not be good for security. That's because whoever follows that link can see the email address it was *ORIGINALLY* sent to (in the secondary email field). That's a mighty good way of confirming that the email address exists, and leaves you open to spamming.
  22. contents extracted - that's what I use. Just for the sake of those who might not have got it working: 1. Open 66.93_win2kxp_english.exe with winrar, extract all files into a folder called "nVidia". 2. Now put this "nVidia" folder into "$OEM$\$1\Drivers\" on your XPCD. 3. In winnt.sif, ensure this exists: [Unattended] OemPnPDriversPath=Drivers\nVidia Now it should work. If it doesn't work, RE-READ the above 3 steps and do it exactly as said. If you still have problems, you are welcome to post them here. Note: - Extraction was done with winrar. - Also, you can delete the unnecessary setup files to save 5 MB, but do not do it when testing for it to work, because you might unknowingly delete a required file.
