It is definitely customizable. If you notice, the winbom.ini has a section in [shell] for pinned programs. We just need to find out how it does it. I have a suspicion that the culprit might be somewhere here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam

Why not boot abel after burn?
prathapml replied to doomstone's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Okay, looks like we have to get down to the brass-tacks. Define "not bootable". Is it giving any errors, or simply aborting, or not loading at all, or acting as if the DVD doesn't exist.... what exactly? -

HP – Compaq Windows Install
prathapml replied to brian873's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Any partitioning tool should be able to unhide that partition or let you take a peek at it. Just take those files and back up somewhere else, as it will have lot of nice things from your OEM. If you lose those filesm it will be sad since you have paid for it, and your OEM is not under obligation to replace those files (if it was a CD they would replace it, but if you needed these files again, they will refuse, stating that you violated the terms of service). After that, go ahead and delete that partition, its your right to use YOUR hardware to its max. But forget about using those files in any way for any purpose. Its probably either a ghost image (or something similar), or its modified I386 files. If you start with the modified files that they provide, you will forever be left wondering where you went wrong when some problem occurs. That's because they would have made many DELICATE additions/tweaks which you won't know - and when you do something to use it for your purpose, you end up breaking the mechanism. You'd rather start with a proper clean source (for windows unattending) where you can be sure your files work fine. Otherwise, you won't know (when problems occur) where to pin-point the cause (about whether the cause is your methods, or bad HW, or the disk, or modified functions....). -
Driverpack Graphics - V5.02.1 & V5.02
prathapml replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
@rgreen83 I make my driver combos myself, I don't understand which driver set of mine you could possibly be using. If its the one I uploaded for Bashrat a year ago (a 7zip archive), then it is very old by now - it was new back then, and was uploaded because he wanted it. You should probably move to his newer pack. Oh, about using the omegas in the pack, its totally his decision. My own set already uses the latest normal ATi drivers. I just wanted to say that omega's ATi drivers uses the same files as the normal one with the INF being different, so if anyone wanted to include in their driver-set, they can easily include it without problems (because when compressed, you will see very little difference with/without omega present). -

prathapml replied to kurt476's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
@kurt476 Yes its possible. Read the forum, read the regtweaks, read the posts here..... you will find out how to add a new right-click option. Also to use a keyboard shortcut to do what you want. -
Not sure about these Registry tweaks!
prathapml replied to xy16644's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
xy16644 Those power settings are probably not working since its HKCU. You need to apply it at T-12. -
its you. j/kbmyhand, that's a shortcut's properties. There's nothing you can do to that except edit the default link to windows explorer in the start menu. Anyways, I just use the Win+E key combo to call up explorer and browse from there - never found that to be a bad thing. If you find yourself constantly browsing a certain folder deep inside regularly, just put the shortcut to it on desktop with above switches. If you're looking for a key combo to automatically get into a certain folder, then put the shortcut (.lnk) in your quicklaunch and in properties change the shortcut key. You can have your shortcut placed unattended on the desktop or quick launch or SendTo. Hoping this helps....

That key will come back, there's nothing you can do about it. Deleting that key is used to make it forget the order it was in. At next logon, it will re-create itself in alphabetical order. If that key was supposed to not comeback, then you won't see your StartMenu/faves at all! The alternative is probably to have that key empty and make it read-only.

hey, stop it ya'll! Help if possible... @vando2k The easiest thing to do is make an ERD Commander 2003/2005 CD. (it works just like winpe) Then you can boot from the CD and use the tool to reset passwords on system (to blank). If not, a tool called ntpasswd editor exists - search on google for its home page. Then you need to write that tool to floppy and boot from it - it will reset the password. If you do go for the second option, then ensure you get the correct one for your windows version (different ones exist for 2k/xp/2k3).
-
Exactly! I found out that running firefox from an ERD commander 2005 disk needs a writable C: partition. Because its normal way of working is to copy the default profile to %userprofile%.

What is "<javascript>" tag?
prathapml replied to YoussefGamil's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
This is not to dis-courage you or something, but if you needed to ask this, then more likely than not, its going to take a long time before you learn it. Its not easy to teach the more basic things that we assume everyone knows, over the course of forum posts. -

How to automatically sign in cable net
prathapml replied to phoenix_nf's topic in Networks and the Internet
@phoenix_nf I think I get what you mean. Are you on the same network as me or what, lol. No need to ping, Task Scheduler is a drain on memory resources. I use Reget Deluxe (downloader) to solve this thing. And its for a fact, that my downloader is anyway running all the time, so it suits me perfectly. There's an option in reget to keep alive connection while downloading. Reget has scheduling within itself. It can connect to the specified network interface (or dial-up) at specified time. What the heck, you can even schedule downloads - like lets say 10 downloads are in your queue. You can set it to start according to what time you know each will finish (if you know file01 will complete by 2 AM, set file02 to start dl at 2:01, and since it is X MB, you know approx when it will finish, so set the next download accordingly). You can even say "start this download when no dl is going on". You can have file mirrors, you can have download speed throttling (so that if your connection gives 6 kbytes/sec, your dl will use 4 kBps and leave you 2 kBps to browse web pages). And reget is perfectly suited to unattended install. Reget is this, that, and more.... its simply a fantastic utility. Google to get homepage and dl! Such a pity more ppl don't know of reget, and stick to an excuse of a downloader software. Hoping this helps.... If you have anymore questions, just ask! -
The one where it will wait for 10 seconds (or probably ability to set the time to wait). If no selections are made and install button pressed, it will just proceed with installing the default selections. It should be possible with a html refresh tag that directs to the install function? (dunno...)
-
Gurgelmayer, this is not dis-courage you or something..... But I hope you do know of the official Win2k post SP4 update roll-up ? It has all of these and more, and beta1 is out!

My Computer >> Tools >> Folder Options >> File Types >> (scroll down) REG Click "Advanced" button in bottom. Select/highlight the option you want, and click "Set Default". So now, the default action for .REG was "merge". the above can change it to "Edit". Does it work for you? -
Quite possibly the most efficient directions I've ever seen. 1. Go to http://mappoint.msn.com/DirectionsFind.aspx 2. Choose Address In="Norway" and City="haugesund" for start 3. Choose Address In="Norway" and City="trondheim" for finish Yep, that looks about right God save your soul.
