  1. hehe just installed on my mom's computer now i wait...
  2. they have a 750gb 3.5'' over at a local computer shop by my house here, its worth about 1 dollar to the gig lol
  3. heres one i stumbled upon (not really a keyboard shortcut) open the start menu and then click on the volume control. might be kinda surprising if it works.
  4. @ripken, tell me about it. my brother cried and screamed when i got a gameboy advance my parents didn't give in and buy him one, they said he had to be like me in order to get one (i had a job at the time, so i payed for it myself). ill tell ya, that was the biggest waste of money i ever spent, i used it for like 2 months, then i just got bored of it (at that time, my bro had gotten one for christmas, so i couldn't give it to him) its now just sitting in my top dresser drawer with my gameboy pocket that i got when i was 8. (i got the advance when i was 13) to this day, i don't play video games. the games i do like, are games that require thought and strategy, like puzzles and stuff like that. i really like tetris and that marble maze game that comes with the Xbox 360 (my brother is getting one this christmas, so i got to test his out to make sure it was working) im so sick of my brothers games, his stupid computer games are killing my bandwidth on the internet. i can't upload or download anything because of them im considering blocking internet to his computer, or at least limiting his use of the bandwidth, but i dont know how to do that. i don't watch much tv either, so i can't comment on the VH1 stuff. im not overly obese, but i could stand to lose a few (which i hope to accomplish when i start working at combined air in the next year or so) just as long as people know that there is a difference between real life and virtual reality, im ok with people playing games. but they have to realize, there's also more to life than games. @camrade_tux, just noticed your spam poison signature, thats a really good idea. i think i'll have to get one of them
  5. i use 2.666 for 2 reasons. its got 666 in it and it has the classic windoshade VU rather than the small full spectrum analyzer. i prefer the dual stereo channel approach, looks more like my stereo
  6. im no programmer, but i fully understand where you guys are coming from. people should just wait and see what happens, nLite is great software, and i wish the best for you guys and your projects.
  7. dont worry about the vulnerabilities. i use 2.666, no problems. the newer ones i find are going down the drain, they're getting to bloated. thats why i prefer the older versions, plus they were free
  8. iv noticed the same thing, my bro is that way. i personally can't play games because i grow bored of them too fast. plus, i get really irritated with the fact of how much money it costs just to play a decent game. i like the classic ones, like tetris, pacman, space invaders, and all those classic games. other than that, i cant be bothered with it. as long as my tax dollars aren't going to keep those kids alive in a hospital, i dont care. i pay enough tax without having to support them.
  9. for the sake of like 80 - 120 bucks or so, its not worth it to goto court over
  10. i think i have some screenshots of vista beta 2, 5536 under classic mode. ill look for em. edit: yup, here they are main desktop start menu expanded start menu ill see if i can find more later on.
  11. i dont think there are any. im not sure, but i dont think anyone has gotten 32bit support for icons in 2000. now, some people change icons and logos and stuff to make it look better, but thats about all your going to get in 2000.
  12. i dont blame you, i have used anti virus software, havent since.
  13. you can try using reshack, but there may be other things involved with just changing the images. for instance, you may have to change different values for the location of it. but you can give it a whirl
  14. i prefer the look of IE6 to all browsers. you gotta admit, the visuals of IE6 are quite nice. i actually have firefox setup to look like IE6. im still trying to get one thing though, but that doesnt bother me. heres what it looks like on my computer Windows Classic Look Windows XP Look
  15. *gets the board of education!* that is fake for sure, i have 16 of them in my spam folder
  16. nor does 98, or xp in some cases 95 may be old, but its a good OS for very basic things. i still use it on an old laptop of mine, plus a VPC for those old games i love
  17. i just update to the latest service pack. thats it for me i dont see the need for me to update, i reload my computer so much, no one could get in and do very much. plus, i dont have any contacts, personal info, or anything like that on my computer. the most personal thing i have on my comp is my name, which is brian
  18. i know this is an old post, but, i have a bit of news. i have obtained the ffieskinxp.jar file and the ieiconsxp.xpi files and have hosted them on my site along with a webpage. here is the link, http://brian10161.tripod.com/ieskin.html/ enjoy

    ie core gone

sorry, i didnt tell you i was running 2000 pro lol but i think im just going to stick with the firefox/opera combination im currently using. opera is a lot faster than firefox, so i will stick with this ill keep playing around with it. maybe ill try 2000/lite (if that exists )
  20. i know this is kind of an old post, but it was in the new posts thingy lol anyhoo, i use rockbox on my iPod. it not only sounds better, but i don't have to use itunes plus, with rockbox, theres a lot of features which the iPod software should bloody well have. like 1, gapless playback and 2, a graphical EQ. how can you make a 300 dollar mp3 player that doesn't have a graphical EQ? my 50 dollar creative zen nano plus has one. the iPod sounds a lot better now that i use rockbox on it, the bass is there and the highend hasnt been cut out. so its all good. i'd buy an iPod video if i could get it in about 8 gb or so, maybe 10. friggin 30 and 80 gb is way too much for me. i have 6gb of music, so i don't need 30 gb, i don't understand how someone could have 80gb of music unless they actually had theyre own radio station. i don't like the look of the Zune. its kinda plain/ugly imo. the iPod isnt much better, but i like the look of my nano a lot (its 9 months old and its mint condition ^_^) i have since gone back to the original iPod software because there are some features i like, ie) better battery life and it can shut off properly now. other than that, i liked rockbox a lot better. the gapless playback and the EQ were my favourite 2 features. (if only an apple programmer would see this post) anyway, im out.

    ie core gone

i know, stupid question, but i have one lol i was wondering if its possible to re-add, if possible, the internet explorer core/frontend if its been removed from windows in the nLite portion of making the disk. i removed it and chose to go with firefox, but thats eating up more ram than i saved with removing the core, so i was wondering if its at all possible to do so. i have tried to re-install IE6 but it comes back and says i have a new version already installed. so thats that done, but im sure theres a way to reinstall it. maybe a simple registry change? thanks for reading
  22. lol ah well, im just glad its fixed now. its really the only problem i have had with disabling services. (i need to disable cuz my laptop's are really slow with XP stock lol)
  23. Whenever I boot up my laptop (or desktop) they both connect to my wireless network, I have internet, but... One stupid little problem I am having. The wireless network icon will sit on the "acquiring IP address" picture. Even though it has an IP, it will keep doing that with the little circle thing. I have tried a multitude of things, manual IP, turning off the checkmark in the properties of the adapter that says: "notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity" I have even tried just using the basic windows wireless software. But nothing works. If I turn off that check mark, it fixes it until I reboot, then I have to turn it back and so on. Anyone else have this problem? Or possibly have a fix? EDIT --------------------------- i just figured it out to anyone having this problem, do not disable the "Network Location Awareness" service. that turned out to be the culprit
  24. i needed the information to draw a conclusion as to why the green LED's in a projection clock my dad bought would keep dieing. he bought 4 or 5 of them, and all the green LED's just either died or went dim and bright. hes gotten tired of returning the clocks, so this time we're just gonna get some new LED's at an electronic store today and replace the light himself. we're thinking the reason the bulbs kept dieing was either, a bad batch of LED's was used to make them, or the green LED's are susceptible to some kind of certain death due to the kind of materials they are made of.
