my views on windows Me
My machine came with Windows 98SE. It was tolerable, but I got enough blue screens to put me off. I stumbled upon Windows ME and gave it a go. It boots noticably faster, and I experience very few blue screens. With Tweak UI and System Restore Remover I've been able to tweak it quite a bit...for a nontechie. I like Windows ME. I guess that makes me an apostate.

Upgrade from Windows ME
I have been attempting to upgrade to Windows 2000. The Dialog greys out the Upgrade option leaving me with just the clean install. How can I remedy this?

Free Web Filtering Software on all Window Platform
I second that recommendation. I've been using it for about two years. I get extremely few spam mail. I can block ads and as a result speed up my browsing.

New Meat
Grettings. I'm new here. I have gotten tired of the typical elitism on some other boards. If it's not the Linux missionaries it's the 'Get A New Machine' lobby that has put me off. I've been running Windows ME for about three years on a six-year old machine. I have tried XP on a laptop and easily grew exasperated with it. I'm not a techie. I'm not a coder. I'm not a hacker. I do not worship at the temple of the latest hardware, either. I just refuse to get a new machine or operating system.
