  1. I found a driver here with XP support and the additional utilities. I only looked at the manually extracted files and didn't install anything as i don't have a compatible adapter anyways. Scan with antivirus before running. Or you can check if the downloads at the official Realtek page still work for XP even though it isn't mentioned there. [edit] Don't bother with the Realtek driver - it's for Win7+
  2. Enabled and running? Did the driver come with any kind of a connection manager program? If not, try PENetwork.
  3. Check if the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service is enabled and running. Without it you have to use the tools included with the WiFi adapter drivers (if any). P.S. What kind of WiFi is that? Brand, model?
  4. Few days ago i was doing warranty repairs on a notebook - after finishing the hardware part i tried to check how it works with their existing Win7 install... It was locked, nobody thought of providing me with a way to test (i hate it when they do this!), and the password hint said "none of your business"... Obviously, i left it patched after i was done
  5. Hmm, the "Submit reply" button got bugged in NM27...
  6. It starts with Trident (IE). Use the icon at the right end of the address field to change.
  7. This one is locked, change it to part 3. "File does not exist" Got a copy of this? Could somebody with XP and SSE2 try Avant Browser? Here only the Trident engine seems to work, Gecko crashes immediately, and Webkit is not shown at all despite its files being available in the browser folder. Lunascape looks interesting as well, but needs SSE2, no clue about XP support ... Github releases
  8. Run Process Explorer. Double-click the svchost process which is torturing the CPU. Select the Services tab to see which services are running in the process. Stop those services one by one until you find which one is responsible for this.
  9. German Amazon good for you? I also tried the turkish Amazon, which should be closer, but the damn thing don't have a translator. And i didn't see IDE in any product name there, you will have to check those one by one. OK, i found one locally
  10. EnTech have some useful display utilities. For a start, check if softMCCS can read the EDID. You can try to generate a customized .inf file for your TV with PowerStrip. There is a guide at TechRepublic.
  11. Isn't the Created date when the file actually got created on that specific drive? I think this should be a good indication of install date. You just have to ignore obvious "fake" dates. That is, if scandisk or another similar program considers a date invalid and tries to repair it, the date would be reset to a specific one like 1980.01.01 or the Modified date would be copied over. On my ancient Win98 install most dates are 2005.12.31 with the time around 20:40 - 20:50, so this should be when i installed it. Sounds like a typical New Year's Eve for me, lol. Fun thing - my SYSTEM.DAT file currently don't have a creation date. But the same file in a disk backup shows a date from 2013, so it was blanked at some time. And i remember having to recreate the file during some repairs, so it's not the original one.
  12. @TechnoRelic If a clean profile doesn't help, rename your HOSTS file and try again.
  13. Look for WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe with your favorite search engine.
  14. @Batuhan ImDisk serves me well. If you need some special emulation, you can try Alcohol 120%.
  15. Only .url ? There are more items there to be changed. Look for URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol and URL:Hyper Text Transfer Protocol wyth Privacy Also, if you have restored your registry after deleting the Mypal entries, try again but search only in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT this time and replace all Mypal entries with NewMoon. P.S. You can also try to toggle browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser in about:config , then restart your browser. This may be useful. Check also the following posts, ignore M.T.
  16. Go into BIOS setup and move USB drives after internal HDD in the startup sequence.
  17. @dmiranda Do you happen to use a proxy for HTTPS? Maybe you accidentally set Basilisk to use it for HTTP as well?
  18. Try increasing the VRAM in VM settings. Also, my suggestions above, if this isn't enough.
  19. Did you try adding a custom resolution with VBoxManage.exe? Some hints here - https://superuser.com/questions/443445/how-can-i-get-virtualbox-to-run-at-1366x768 How did you even get two displays in a single guest? Or these are separate VMs?
  20. Just leave that unticked and manually switch your desktop to a 16bit mode. Which program is this about? nvm. posted at te same time Why do you run Virtualbox in compatibility mode? Maybe try to use a generic monitor driver for the 2nd display?
  21. So, you just randomly decided to bury my PC?! Nah, it survived for 20 years, this is nothing. I just need some free time for maintenance
  22. Can you run uBlock on that? If so, you can try using the element picker to get a suitable CSS selector. Or try a bookmarklet with similar functionality.
  23. They seem to have switched to new forum software recently... On an unrelated topic, when i switched my desktop resolution from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200 to take that screenshot, Serpent52 crashed in xul.dll . Changing back to 1280x1024 proceeded fine though. I was getting those random crashes for some time in NM27 recently (also in xul.dll) at least 1-2 times a day. I attributed this to the warmer weather and hardware issues cropping-up, but maybe some recent change in the code made it more prone to crashing?
  24. Is anyone able to browse forum.arduino.cc in NM27? Example page - https://forum.arduino.cc/t/driving-a-salvaged-lcd-directly-from-arduino/51558 It appears blank here. If i right-click and select "Inspect", there is content in the DOM, but none of it is rendered. Also, there are a lot of errors in the web console. I believe the site was working before in NM27 (not 100% sure though), but recently i am forced to start Serpent52 (which is becoming slower with each passing day) just to check a page on there. [edit] Archive of the example page in their older forums - http://web.archive.org/web/20170503044644/http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,51464.0.html There isn't even an easy way to map new URLs to old ones, ugh...
  25. Well, i'm willing to test as long as it's not outright blocked. Got a test page that should work? I usually get either "wasm not supported" or "out of memory" alerts, or silent fails with "TypeError: asm.js type error: Disabled by lack of compiler support" in the console.
