  1. I've never had this issue in the past and now this is really bothering me. I've apply my usual updates and everything installs without a hick. Now when everytime it boots into Windows it always takes forever. Like 2 minutes sitting there doing nothing before it loads all the other services. I find this really annoying and I'm trying to find a fix for this. Here is my last session.ini setup if you wish to look at it: [Main] Env = 1.3 - 2.0.50727.832.Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Target = Windows XP Professional SP:2 - 5.1.2600.2180 - English (United States) [Tasks] Remove Components Unattended Setup Integrate Drivers Hotfixes and Update Packs Tweaks Options [Components] ;# Operating System Options # Manual Install and Upgrade Tour ;# Directories # DOCS SUPPORT VALUEADD ;# Compatibility # [KeepFiles] msconfig.exe [RemoveFiles] clock.avi yahoo.bmp swtchbrd.bmp [Options] ProfilesDir = "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings" TargetPath = "WINDOWS" temp_dir = %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp [Patches] TcpIp = 100 DoUxTheme DoSFC [Services2] [Tweaks] Desktop-Internet Explorer icon-Show Desktop-My Computer icon-Show Desktop-My Documents icon-Show Desktop-My Network Places icon-Show Desktop-Recycle Bin icon-Show Explorer-Classic Control Panel Explorer-Show Statusbar in all windows My Computer-Add Control Panel Start Menu-Control Panel-Display as a menu Start Menu-My Computer-Display as a menu Start Menu-My Documents-Display as a menu Start Menu-My Music-Display as a menu Start Menu-My Network Places-Display as a menu Start Menu-My Pictures-Display as a menu Start Menu-Network Connections-Display as Connect to menu Start Menu-Number of programs on Start menu-10 Start Menu-Printers and Faxes-Display as a menu Taskbar-Disable Group similar Taskbar buttons Taskbar-Disable Hide inactive icons Taskbar-Disable Language-Bar Visual Effects-Smooth edges of screen fonts-ClearType [Unattended] UnattendMode = 1 ComputerType = Default AutoLogon = John CustomLocales Resolution = 1680x1050 BitsPerPel = 32 bit (True Color) Vrefresh = 75 Hz DisableSRestore MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 12 RestorePointLife = 30 DesktopTheme = Default|| AutoUDay = 5 AutoUHour = 15 ProgFilesPath = "\Program Files" [NetAdapter1] connname = "" macaddress = "" ipaddress = "192.168.0.1" subnetmask = "255.255.255.0" defaultgateway = "" dnsserver1 = "" dnsserver2 = "" winsserver = "" netbiossetting = "0" ipxnetworknumber = "00000000" ipxnetworkframetype = "0xFF" [GuiRunOnce] [Drivers] D:\Audio Driver\HD\5296_PG218_R147_UAAV10a-5013\WDM\HDA.inf,0 D:\Audio Driver\WDM\Alcwdm0.inf,0 D:\Audio Driver\Win95\VALCX95.INF,0 D:\Audio Driver\WinNT4\Oemsetup.inf,0 D:\motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_c51\Ethernet\nvenetfd.inf,0 D:\motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_c51\IDE\WinXP\sata_ide\nvata.inf,0 D:\motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_c51\IDE\WinXP\sataraid\nvraid.inf,BUSDRV D:\motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_c51\IDE\WinXP\sataraid\nvraid.inf,RAIDCLASS D:\motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_c51\SMBus\nvsmbus.inf,0 D:\NVIDIA\Win2KXP\162.18\nv4_disp.inf,0 [Hotfixes] D:\Nlite Addons\vlc-0.8.6.cab D:\Nlite Addons\dnframework.cab D:\Nlite Addons\firefox_shockwaveflash.cab D:\Nlite Addons\ie7.cab D:\Nlite Addons\ProgramAddons CloneDVD 2.9.0.3.cab D:\Nlite Addons\RVMUpdatePack2.1.11.7z D:\Nlite Addons\ProgramAddons_Adobe_Reader_8.1.cab D:\Nlite Addons\RVMAddonsDX9_1.4.7z Help please?   2. Yeah I'm using a 60 refresh rate, but I can't change it, 60 is only available. Is there a way to enable the other modes?
  3. I managed to fix the problem, now a new problem has arised. Some of the videos I watch have weird colours which is more annoying. Seriously, I think its the NVIDIA drivers that are causing the problem. But if I uninstall Klite Mega Codec, the problem will go away. But I need the codec, I can't view some videos without it. Any suggestions? And thanks to the people who helped me here.
  4. Well, I have two codecs installed on my computer. One is Klite Mega Codec and the other one is CCCP. No I did not overclock my video card.
  5. 1. Well, I'm using the latest driver, 162.18 2. Using a Gigabyte motherboard 3. Whats OC? Sorry. 4. Windows XP SP2 with all updates Yes its the video only in Windows Media Player. The other video players don't show this sign, but I prefer Windows Media Player. When I play games, it runs fine.
  6. Yes I finally got this video card if you guys remembered me mentioning getting one. Ok, I need your help guys, I would have posted this on the NVIDIA but creating a new account won't let me log in for some reason. Everytime I watch a video in Windows Media Player, there would be some graphic display glitch. If you guys don't understand what I'm talking about, I have captured a screenshot here to show you: http://www.geocities.com/johnvuong2000/capture.JPG I have circled the area where it seems to be the problem. There seems to be some black hollow every few seconds when I play it. This only happened when I upgraded to the 8800 GTS. Any solutions please? Thank you.
  7. Is this legal or what? I know its not cracking, but still. Not that I cared anyway. Anyway, thanks for it. Activating is a pain in the a** anyway.
  8. I'm planning to get an 8800 GTS soon, and I need your help guys. I have a 22" LCD monitor and I plan to play games at maximum resolution and everything at the highest settings. If I get a 320MB will it lag? Or am I better off with the 640MB? So which is recommended? I prefer getting the 320MB but if playing at the highest resolution will make it lag then I'll change my mind. So can you NVIDIA GeForce fantics help me out here please. Thank you.
  9. Probably more advanced GUI which means its going to be more bloated and probably more useless garbage. But we'll see, though I predict this will come true.
  10. I use IDM. Yes its fast, but I hate it how if you download multiple files at once, it really lags your computer which is annoying. I use to like Getright, (When i had dialup) but now I hate it. It doesn't even increase your download speed anymore, and its slow. Haven't really used the others yet.
  11. I've used all 3: Maxtor, Seagate and Western Digital. Can't really say which one is good for me, to me it was all the same.
  12. Motherboard with onboard RAM, nice, but you can't put any more RAM? Not good. Not a fan of ASUS anyway, the design and the layout of most ASUS motherboards aren't appealing.
  13. Serves Microsoft right. With hackers around, they can't prevent this from happening. Good for the hackers.
  14. Windows Server 2003 32 bit can go over 4GB, I have 4GB installed on my computer and Windows Server 2003 can see over 4GB, though I don't understand that other 32 bit operating systems are limited to 3GB if 2003 can surpass this limit.
  15. Firefox 2.0 for all. Simply the best and easiest.
  16. Wasn't a huge fan of Half Life 2, but I've seen the trailer for Team Fortress 2 and it looks sweet. I look forward to that one.
  17. Better if you add an extra gig of RAM on your PC if you plan to use it for gaming. RAM prices are quite cheap these days.
  18. So if I compare the ATI Radeon 1950 Pro to the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT, which was has better performance? Both cards are nearly the same (Except the 1950 Pro is a 256 bit and the 8600 GT is a 128 bit) comparing the bit, would that make much of a difference?
  19. Hahahahahaha that was hilarious, though I've seen the original one and that was funnier.
  20. Norton Ghost in my opinion, is horrible. Its full of bugs and its so slow when I tried to reimage my hard drive. Even one of my partitions wouldn't even boot up when I modified the partition space which I think is bulls***. Proves to me Norton can't do anything right.
  21. I don't like ASUS either. I had a motherboard and I thought it was horrible. Performance was bad, the design was bad, everything was bad. Use Gigabyte. I find them quite reliable.
  22. I had a similar problem, I want the explorer window to be maximized all the time and when I reopen it, it always opens as a small window. Bloody annoying, it proves to me that Vista still has holes. Hopefully SP1 fixes this.
  23. I ran it, nothing happened. I have a legit serial key on my XP. Funny WGA doesn't exist for the x64 version though. Anyway I removed it because I won't allow Microsoft to check my computer details... I don't like people breaching privacy.
  24. Nah, it was just the website that was infected with the ad. I don't have that ad at all, even the people running that site admitted they had a problem that that ad redirection. I even scanned my computer and there was no spyware at all.
