  1. Does the compatibility feature work? Try that first. This is stupid, even for Microsoft, see if there is a patch released for compatibility for Windows Vista.
  2. I had this bug where Windows takes forever to boot up and load the services with all the hotfixes and the .net framework pack integrated. And this did not happen to me in the past. Was it an NLite bug or what?
  3. Windows XP. I've been using it since 2002 and haven't stopped and I don't plan on upgrading to anything else yet because the other OS's seem like trash especially Vista.
  4. Guessing these are still in BETA, I'll wait for the final release. Don't trust BETA drivers. But does it improve the performance of the Crysis demo do you guys know?
  5. Yeah I downloaded it too, I have a good machine and I can't even max out everything, it would lag, and I'm running at a 1650x1050 resolution here. I can play the game at high settings only without any anti aliasing and I get a FPS rate of 20 which is decent I guess. If I set the anti aliasing on at 16xQ it kills my machine, I get a FPS of 5 only which is bulls***. This game was pretty good, reminded me of Far Cry.
  6. More of a light/moderate gamer here, I play about up to 2 to 3 hours, even less. For the second option, I play all those games though I like FPS more and a bit of RTS. I don't play online for some reason, couldn't be bothered, waste of my bandwidth really.
  7. Was previously using an AMD 3800+ AM2 Dual Core, now using an AMD 6000+ AM2 Dual Core here.
  8. I'm currently dual booting Windows XP SP2 as my main OS and Windows Server 2003 SP1 as my secondary OS.
  9. I hope Microsoft does not add that annoying feature where you want to install a program and it keeps prompting you to allow or deny it, man that was annoying.
  10. Well, I downloaded the demo which I thought was pretty nice. Though the gameplay was very typical to the previous UT games though. Anybody can set the graphics on maximum level here? Everytime I do that it tells me to restart the program, which I did and I go back in and it resets to its default settings which is annoying and I'm stuck with graphics that look like it was made in 2003. I'm kinda annoyed because I wanted to see how the graphics looked like on my computer with everything on high.
  11. The best programs I've used and using it today: Windows XP, Winamp, Windows Media Player (Sort of), Firefox 2.0, Nero 6 The worst programs: Windows Vista (POS OS seriously RealPlayer (Too many bugs and its crap) Norton Anti Virus (All versions), Norton Ghost 9.0 (It was slow and buggy), Nero 7 (A huge disappointment, too many errors) and Valve's Steam engine which is annoying
  12. Nero 8 just contains HD DVD and Blu Ray support only? Is that all? I'll stick to Nero 6 thanks. By the way, Nero 7 was horrible. Endless bugs, bloatware and it was slow which was annoying.
  13. I'll probably suggest a 8600 GT too. Its a mid range card and the specs aren't too bad.
  14. I've had a problem with one of my ATI cards, I had a 9600 Pro and this annoying VPU Recover message kept popping up. It turned out to be the card that was faulty. I took it back to the computer store and they gave me a new one, since then I haven't had this problem, so most likely your card is broken. How long had you had this problem?
  15. I'm currently running a Geforce 8800 GTS card and I've noticed that games set up to 1600x1200 resolution runs in a window (With bad results) or cannot run at all. I would like to run it in 1650x1050 but unfortunately some games don't have this resolution. I use to have an ATI card and it worked perfectly so it doesn't have anything to do with my monitor. I'm kinda annoyed with NVIDIA's endlessly poor driver support, is there a workaround for this?
  16. I've never seen a patch for a game that has exceeded over 1GB, this must be one patch that must have a lot of updates or whatever.
  17. Yeah, seen it before. This dude is screwed up.
  18. Is this any good? I never liked Nero 7, too buggy, uses up your resources and it sucks. I rather stick to Nero 6, thanks.
  19. So when is the final build going to be released, any news on this? Seriously, Microsoft should have released this a while ago. Too busy on Vista I guess.
  20. Another cheap scheme to make more money. Seriously, the customer already bought your product, I think they are entitled to free updates and patches, not force them to pay extra. WTF are they thinking.
  21. Kinda surprised here that they are working on a BETA for IE8 so soon, look at IE7, took them like 5 years to release it after XP and IE6 came out, what a joke. IE7 was a huge disappointment for me but we'll see about IE8. I'll stick to Firefox, thanks.
  22. Microsoft are cheapskates, they are willing to do anything to eliminate the competition. Not everybody has time and a fast connection just to connect to the bloody Windows Update website, which I think its slow and buggy.
  23. I hope this service pack improves performance. I hate it how Vista uses up like over 1 GIG of CPU and memory usage in the task manager is just annoying.
  24. I use to use Authopatcher, but MS doing this is bulls***. Why stop now? Microsoft are complete as******, screw them.
