  1. Yeah, I checked and WGA is not available on the Windows Update site. Good. Hopefully goodbye forever and good riddance.
  2. I found this build kinda disappointing. Didn't spot anything new, and the computer restarted itself several times, unlike build 5600. And I thought build 5600 had less time installation.
  3. How to disable Automatic Restart: Go to My Computer, right click on go to Properities. When it opens the System Properties, click on Advanced, and click on the Settings button under Startup and Recovery. Under System Failure, uncheck Automatically Restart.
  4. Don't most motherboards disable the onboard video automatically when you install a video card on a PCI/AGP slot? Mine does.
  5. I downloaded this build, haven't installed it yet. Has it improved from the previous build, 5600?
  6. I downloaded the Vista Transformation pack and it included the new Vista sound theme. Don't know if its real though. Yes, I used the latest build of Vista and its still using the XP sound theme.
  7. Well, since its still in BETA you're going to encounter some bugs. Did you try to reinstall IE7?
  8. Super FDisk. It only supports FAT32 though.
  9. I'll use Acronis True Image. Never use Ghost 9.0 or 10.0 for that matter. Its slow, and its so unreliable. One time I decided to modify the partition size and the next thing when its done, the partition won't even boot up. POS software. No offense, but I'm fed up with Norton. Whats with their products that are so slow?
  10. I have a valid key, but what really bothers me that Microsoft decided to put in a script that "phones home" when you boot into XP. I hope they don't put WGA into SP3, but I bet they will.
  11. No, I did not overclock anything, though one time I did, I had to set it back to its default settings. I'm currently using my onboard video, and everything is working well, for now. I'll try to run a memory test, thanks for the advice.
  12. Yep, I updated everything, drivers, directx, still the same. I dual boot both XP and 2003 and the problem persists. Probably got something to do with my video card.
  13. Yeah, sounds like a video card problem. I'll replace it if I was you. So your saying you replaced with with some old card lying around the problem stopped persisting?
  14. Ok guys, I really need your help here. I have this annoying lagging problem. I don't know why, but when I start the computer and boot into Windows, every now and then my computer becomes all laggy. I check the CPU Usage and it goes high and down each second. Like when I play music, for example, when a song plays "Infinity" it would be like this "Iiiii...ffffin...iiitttyyy" with the annoying lag. I formatted by computer and it didn't help either. Please help me out here, thanks.
  15. Well, try formatting the computer and see if it solves the freezing problem. If not, then its a hardware problem.
  16. Huh... still expensive. What did you expect from Microsoft? Money hungry company. Wonder if Vista is going to be a success though.
  17. I'm currently using BitDefender Internet Security Suite version 10. Problem is I can't get the parental controls working, though I enabled it.
  18. Mozilla Firefox MSN Messenger Winamp Microsoft Office 2003 Windows XP AnyDVD CloneDVD Acronis True Image Server - Norton Ghost 9.0 sucks Nero BitComet Soulseek
  19. I have a 9MB cable connection, though I've never had speeds over 2MB. Average is 1.5MB.
  20. I always dual boot with two operating systems. On the machine I'm using, its dual booting: Windows XP Pro SP2 Windows Server 2003 On the other machine: Windows XP Pro SP2 Windows 2000 Pro
  21. I prefer gameplay. Whats a point of the game with good graphics but has poor gameplay? I rather play a game with poor graphics that has great gameplay.
  22. Thats too much hassle. Why use a standard user account for anyway?
  23. I wonder if this OS is going to be more of a huge system hog like Vista. Which I'll probably say yes.
  24. Yeah, just horrible. It was all over the news here in Australia. Poor guy, he was killed what he loved doing. Just sad.
  25. ZoneAlarm is terrible. Used it, thought it sucked. All the problems you listed there were present when I used it. It was a nightmare, some pages wouldn't load properly, I signed in with Hotmail and when I tried checking my inbox with it sign me out automatically and returns me to the sign in screen again. POS software, I don't see whats so good about it. Worser than Norton in my opinion.
