Well since microsoft admitted that WGA calls home everyday, although they said this was because its in "beta" stages and its to make sure it isnt going wrong. M$ will probably leave it phoning home everyday knowing them. Eitehr way theres no way WGA is ever going back on any pc i own after i found out it calls home everyday.

Microsoft is refusing to deny that it plans to turn its Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program into a method of shutting down PCs it considers are running pirated software. According to one punter who contacted ZD Net, he was told by Windows support that those that do not run WGA in Autumn will have their computers switched off. Windows will give you a 30 day warning and then if it's not installed, Windows will stop working. The official Volish quote on the matter was that as the WGA Notifications program expands in the future, customers may be "required to participate". Windows XP has been known to run on alot less, i have a stripped down version that runs perfectly on a PIII 450, 192MB Ram, 8MB Video.

have u installed the latest drivers for your card.

Sorry to say this but what your doing is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen. So because it says Service pack 2 on your screen then tech support will think its service pack 2 also. LMAO Theres like 50,000 other ways to find out what service pack version of XP your using. That little caption in the system properties box doesnt mean crap. most ppl look up what version it is by opening a cmd prompt and typing "systeminfo" Face it , Download Service pack 2 and stop being a muppet.

i really doubt that this will be possible as its a security feature built in. It would be really stupid not to prompt for file replacing.

i also had this problem, i had to go out n find books on specifically programming the windows API , hopefully u should be able to find some.

if it supports pc3200 then it will support the slower modules like pc2700 and pc2100 aswell.

You should pray that it hasnt fried you motherboard, If the PSU is gone its very rare that it doesnt take out something else with it, Unless of course you have a good PSU that has things like SCP, OVP, OCP. Buy a New PSU anyway and just hope that you havent kiled anything else inside your pc.

Go with the Evga from newegg seeing as ripken seems to have experiance with them and most ppl tend to buy from there.

You wont find a Sub $200 card better than the 7600GT, You could overclock it too, probably get around 600Mhz core/1600-1700 memory. You'll be very happy with your investment.

Just had a look, I didnt see on the newegg site that it had written underneath in small $30 rebate, i just looked at the big price The evga should be an excellent card, Alot of overclockers will swear by evga made cards. As ripken says theyre both covered by warrantys anyway.

The Evga on Tiger Direct is cheaper than on Newegg, The only reason i recommended the XFX is because some ppl seem to be having problems with the Evga overclocked 7600GT cards, Usually i would recommend Evga though because of their pcb's (PCB = printed circuit board)

Either would be fine. But personally i would pick the XFX as its not been overclocked or anything ( allowing you todo it yourself ). Also some ppl seem to have problems with the Evga 7600GT.
