  1. hi, im going to reinstall my pc... again going to go back to 32 bit from x64... (possible installing x64 again as dual boot). this is because of nvidia's horrible drivers and horrible customer support, the drivers are bugged, but seems they prefer to ignore it. anyway. how can i Nlite a version of 32 bit windows, in order to run fast and be good for games. my Specs are 3.2ghz emt64t 1gig ram 6600gt 256mb 200Gb hdd winfast dtv1000t video card sum random lan card that works with any OS natively Abit-ni8 Sli i pretty much want this pc to be games, and music orientated. whole reason im going back is because nvidias x64 drivers for audio, dont work, im forced to used the realtek ones. however the realtek ones lack the features that make the nvidia ones good *sigh* you guys think it will work? plus how do i use nlite to make the windows xp pro geared towards gaming
  2. can anyone get it working? site claims x64 support, but the drivers arent all x64 bit. eg the usb driver it seems to require has been made wrong, looking at the .inf NTamd64 is mentioned a few times, but Windows says IT IS NOT A 64 Bit driver. ;------------------------------------------------------------------------ ; btcusb.inf ; IVT Corporation Bluetooth USB Device Installation Script ; 3. thats pretti useful, but its more of a reference of commands i want a tutorial that tells me how to make a simple program etc. just so i know what most of it will do, instead of geussing at the beginning stages
  4. anyone have any free guides?, im kinda wanting to take this up as a little hobbie, as i mite not be any good at it .
  5. hi, ive been learning C++ and i do understand alot of it, and so far its been rather enjoyable. ive looked at quite a few good tutorials. thing is these tutorials end about where i want to get very interested, windows programming . just wondering if anyone can offer any good tutorials on how to use the platform sdk. im running windows x64 (not too important, but in case u wanted to know), i have the platform sdk for my system downloaded, and im using Visual C++ express edition. thanks
  6. lol well actualli i want to do this myself, thank you for the help but. if i ever encounter a problem i will ask u. i want to use nlite to do it.. and that site confused the hell out of me... its a good site, it just gets way complicated way fast. for now, i just want to be able to. intergrate the x64 sata/raid drivers for my nforce 4 motherboard. and also i want to learn how to install windows from a network. my idea is to make my Nlited windows live on an old server i have, so i can work on it between installs, and then just use the , first boot LAN option in my bios to run the setup. server is Fedora Core 2 but, and im not tooe xperienced, so ill prolli need a good walkthrough do-able? or a pipe dream? it sounds so useful to me
  7. bojo

    IE7 and looks?

hi, i downloaded the IE7 beta, and then seconds later uninstalled it. it looks hideous.... i like the look of IE6 and all the IE's that have come before.. will there be a version of IE7 that has all the features of IE7 but looks like IE6?... IE7 appears to just be tryign to copy firefox, which i find pointless as browser should be kept clean and simple...
  8. just wonderin... can u get the programs to put in cd keys aswell?, or would i have to do that manually afterwards?
  9. that looks promising, thank you very much, i will tell you how it turns out
  10. if you format drive C:, and ur hardrive is searching for the boot.ini of drive C:..... thats obvious it wont work, what a bad test..... if he has his system pointing to drive D: and booting from it, his boot.ini will be on drive D, unless he has alreadi modified a boot.ini (or sumtin has seriously screwed up). windows may, cosmetically make itself always appear as C:, (once i had winxp and winxp64 both think they were installed on C:, they appeared as G: in the other OS). if i formatted drive C: like u said, but copied over ntldr, boot.ini and the otehr to my x64 partition, then rebuilt the MBR with with the windows xp disk, it would boot from my x64 while the C: was killed. as gunsmokingman said, i thort vista may be different. however loading it shouldnt be that difficult, just add the lines in.... one problem i can see, is that ur windows 32 will think it is on C:.. cause u made an image of it from when it was on C:. (ONLY COSMETIC, u could easily get over this, it wont affect how windows runs at all) drive letters are just that, drive letters, dont get too caught up in thinking thats where it all boots from. the boot.ini doesnt even contain drive letters, notice how it has the parition number...... so that doesnt even use C:.....
  11. problem is, i cant seem to understand what half of them are, and if i am using them or not... i have no idea what the core ones windows needs V the useless ones i cant use (like network printing or sumtin like that)
  12. hi, ive seen a pc running "stripped down" windows xp. **** it shuts down fast. im going to make my own nlite cd for x64 soon, setpoint refuses to work full stop now.... but thats anotehr story. just wonderin, what processes and stuff i should remove or disable to speed up the pc... im sik of having heaps ofe xtra stuff running.
  13. they can be installed whereever the hell u like them to be, C: D: Z: B: whatever ur drive is.... and there is no registry settings for dual booting..... what is booting vista or xp?... im geussing it will be xp if u restored that, and restored the MBR to point to it (which ghost or whatever prolli did). whatever is loading, u have to go to the root of that drive, and unhide the boot.ini file. alternative is right click my computer>properties>advanced> startup and recovery>settings>edit from their u can add in the partition numbers to boot what u want eg. [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64 Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect if u added multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="Windows XP dummy file" then a new entry would appear when u boot ur pc, and would try to load windows from the 3rd partition. im not sure what giving the incorrect one does, i believe it will just fail and u can restart and select the proper one. NO GAURANTEES THEIR AT ALL, TRYING ANY OF THIS COULD REALLI KILL UR PC. but in that case its just a reinstall which has alreadi been suggested. NOTE: the boot.ini is going to be in the root of whatever partition u are running. EG. for u, if ur in vista, boot.ini would be in C:\boot.ini. If in XP it would be in D:\boot.ini. (to avoid this, just use alternative method mentioned earlier). any questions just ask, i had to do this once, to allow me to dual boot Winxp and winXP x64, when normal XP was installed second. ohh i assume by reconize u mean, boot from, as u should alreadi see the partition in vista.... and be able to access the files from vista u wanted to choose between booting vista and xp rite?
  14. hi, ive downloaded nlite, and i want to create a disc that will install x64 windows will all my apps etc. ive managed to realli confuse myself in this process...... i want to install, extra drivers, for my TV tuner (dvt1000t), and my graphics card (6600GT) and well as the nforce motherboard drivers (nforce 4, abit n-18sli), realtek sound drivers (audiomax 7.1, ac97), my keyboard and mouse (logitech, mx400), as well as my special drivers for my phone (motorola a925). i think the onli ones i could add are the phone ones and the tv tuner ones...... that i kno how to with nlite. most others seem to have installers for the drivers.. also i want, msn 8 beta, IE7 x64 version, Utorrent, foobar2000 (& my plugins), Open office, x64 daemon tools(but not run on startup), Nero, dvd decrypter, peer guardian, BDATEST ( my tv viewer proggie), &zip x64, Abit uguru, AC3filter, DVB web scheduler, Motorola desktop suite, media player classic and most likely x64 tiny firewall, and nod32 (x64). i can do this all silently rite? ( i dont mind many man hours making it, i just dont know when to start) also i have to hit f6 when i reformat... i could add these drivers couldnt i? sata II hdd i use... (im not sure what raid is, so id say i dont have it). also in theory i could copy any file i wanted rite?, like matrices for ac3filter? and config files for setpoint? cheers,
