only problem with Halo 2 is that its going to be Vista only and i have no intention of buying that crap ( Vista that is ) for a long time.

I would have to say that WinXP upto SP2 was absolutely crap, it was a joke when it first came out SP1 was just as much of a joke, Then SP2 came out and providing that you did a clean install with SP2 integrated into the source everything would be fine. Also an Nlited XP is easily as fast as 2k. 2003 is still my personal favourite, its far more reliable as well as faster than both XP and 2k

Whatever you do, DO NOT choose Maxtor. i have had a couple of maxtors die on me after only a few months of usage. They also make the most annoying noise ever, absolutey awful is what they are. For reliabilty id have to say seagate would be my personal favourite, i have a 20gb hdd from 8 yrs ago that still works perfectly.

looks like a pretty smart case, but then again all Thermaltake cases are smart If you really like it then id say go for it, it seems to have good ventilation and some very handy time saving features. The only downside of it in my view is the clear side panel, but thats only my personal preference.

Describe exactely how you intend on implementing this "honour" scheme of yours so that more ppl will be able to comment on it.

If you want linux support then the easiest way is to just get on IRC and go on the Freenode server. I have always got my problems resolved within about 15mins of entering one of the numerous support channels.

what motherboard is it that your using ? its pretty uncommon that MBM doesnt support a motherboard. I have had a good look on google for some but im afraid i cant seem to find any other than MBM or SpeedFan

Judging by what you said about the difference between honour/donate it seems like the only difference is that you want the ppl that don't pay the $1 to feel like they have done something wrong. No the silent installers i created are for my own personal use as they contain my registry details and personal settings. Yes i have made sure that i am allowed to repackage the software installation in order to include my own settings for my unattended cd. Now could you actually explain in detail how this honour system is going to work, that way more ppl will be able to comment on what they think of it.

Any reason why you dont want either MBM or SpeedFan ? MBM Lite is a very good little program if you dont want all the bloat of the normal version

Yes i have a very good understanding of what spam is even though it does have multiple definitions. Maybe you dont see it that way because you're the one who is going to try and profit from it but if you were to post links to scripts up on the forums and then force ppl to "donate" $1 to download them then that would most certainly be classed as spam. As i said in my previous post. If you were to simply "ask" ppl to donate if they liked your script then there would be no harm in that at all. Also i forgot to point out in my last post that it's spelt Leech not Leach. If you're going to try and use petite insults atleast make sure you know how they're spelt.

I have created a few different things that are posted on here and are all hosted on my webhost for ppl to download freely. Also just so u know i dont actually use any AutoIT Scripts at all. The only thing ppl tend to use AutoIT for are installers and seeing as all of my installers for my unattended disc i have repackaged to be silent ( Apart from FFD Show, Quicktime, Real Player Codecs ) The way you have phrased that makes it sound like if someone uses a script then they HAVE to donate $1. I would have no problem if you were simply to just put a donate button or something to that effect. Im not entirely sure how you intend to do this but creating scripts and then posting links to them on this board and making ppl have to pay (even if it is only $1) would really be classed as spam in my eyes.

i have a mixture of 3 that i use, XP Pro 2003 Standard Debian

i was wondering if its possible to use OEM keys on a normal media center edition install, my mum recently bought a dell pc and when i checked it had 45 processes runnign as standard. i closed all the uneeded services and uninstalled most the free crap they include and got it down to 14 but i would prefer it if i could do a fresh install of media center using the oem key.

it could be the software the cds were burnt with, i remember my old adaptec cd writing software that when burning cds with that you could make it so that only that cd drive could access it.
