  1. For those 3 it's a registry key I believe. Use regshot
  2. ;Change location of my documents [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] "Personal" ="D:\\" You can run a reg file after the install with the above key. That's what I do, and not from winnt.sif and works fine. Don't know what you have to put in winnt.sif though, maybe someone else can help you with that.
  3. Can you explain me the reasoning behind this? I got a dead one I gave up and wonder what this does.
  4. Is there a way to run a script to zip a folder on server? I can do it through cpanel but it only allows 20mb. Mine is a 100mb folder.

  6. Talk about a clean desktop lol. I have the same but 20"; 206BW. Amazing quality, well made simple & stylish!

  8. If you have an XPS 410, you probably also received Power DVD software. Install that for the needed codecs.
  9. Do you know the BIOS version that was on it before you flashed it?
  10. Hmm, isn't that the SRCD that would install the entire image and restore the recovery partition. I thought all Vista CD's only included Vista and none of the other stuff.
  11. I don't see why you can't do that. I'm almost sure all Dell users don't go through that much trouble installing Vista.

I'd backup the data anyway. Pretty soon you'll be in the software section of this forum asking how to retrieve lost data
  13. It doesn't. It only installs Vista. Only the recovery partition contains the rest of the crap. If you install it through the CD, it's a clean install.
  14. http://www.msfn.org/board/manage-your-attachments.html full?
  15. Thanks guys, I'll look into your suggestions. I'm not keen on getting the memory for that price since the budget is ~2k, and it's already there. Already got a mouse, that's why it's not on the list. How hard is it to operate on the video card. I don't want to bend it and break it and do things that's not supposed to do. Replaced the hard drive & power supply with your suggestions, I'll look into the rest later.
  16. Newegg Wishlist A friend of mine is building a computer, and I thought I should ask here if this looks alright. Any improvements that can be made, or anything taken out? Cooling, case etc..
  17. Usually if you're not getting a beep code with no memory it'd point to a faulty mobo. (assuming you have everything plugged in properly)

  19. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/18/ Eventually if you follow that you'll end up creating all of the mentioned folders inside $OEM$, might as well create it all.
  20. Yeah, i've tried plenty of methods and gave up. I just made a self extracting zip, extracted to the system drive and installed it from there, then delete the folder after it's done. works fine if you have the space to spare. Also I found that if you install all the components on say dreamweaver, when you go to install photoshop it will fail because it detects that some components are already already installed. You NEED some of the components installed for it to work, and only method I found was that install all the adobe cs3 applications first without any components, in my case dreamweaver, then w/e cs3 application that comes last with all the components. Namely photoshop has all the components the rest of them come with. I couldn't find something for the components to force install. I'm stupid or adobe messed up!
  21. http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/vie...ntID=EN-1033129 Try the 3rd option or use Microsoft cleanup utility.
  22. http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html try that
  23. I don't know, I think a lot of us like to do stuff ourselves. I don't see myself learning something or having fun or breaking a sweat if all I have to do is download a program and run it. It's a great idea, and it will work, but doubt it'd work here.
  24. Hi Can someone tell me what files I need to backup to auto-activate again? I activated it once already, do I have to keep doing it on each install? I know previous versions I had to backup a couple of files, then just dump them in a particular folder. Can't seem to find any info on CS3 products let alone Dreamweaver.
  25. Make a new partition and copy the drivers/applications? I would imagine, if he's installing that many times the CD/DVD with the applications/drivers might go bad and refuse to copy over.
