I'm not taking any credits either. You may remove it if it brakes any rules.
  4. I don't think you guys are understanding what I was saying. I was trying to slipstream a x64 SP2 onto a x64 XPCD running a 32bit OS. Apparently you can't do that. You need to be running a base x64 bit to even slipstream it. Anyway, I ended up installing it without the SP2 then played around with it while on it. MSDN doesn't provide x64 with SP2, only with SP1.
  5. I don't know, but just to make it clear this doesn't get locked I didn't download it off of a file sharing site. I have an MSDN subscription through work and got it off there.
  6. Reason I ask is that it's not letting me as I'm running a 32bit version of windows.
  7. Cool thanks for the fast reply. Is there anyway for me to slipstream SP2 onto the CD I have without actually installing x64 first?
  8. CPU http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?d...&cid=CPU.84 Motherboard http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&amp...amp;modelmenu=1 Is the CPU x64 compatible? Can you install an 64bit copy of windows on virtual machine that's running on 32bit? Thanks!
  9. 79.7 wpm 336.32 cpm 5 mistakes
  10. You will probably have to use nlite for the XPCD if you want to fit both on one CD.

  12. Anyone know of a good program that I can use to backup from a server?
  13. When it comes to Dell, thats usually a good rule of thumb regardless of the issue. Except on the rare occasion that you get someone that speaks the same language as you but usually when that happens your in the wrong department. the Corp/Gold line is slightly better but not much. But seriously, Id use whatever it comes loaded with for a while before id look into changing it I don't know about that, but they won't support it when you change the OS. lol I did this with a Toshiba, then found out they don't even have the model on their site, and they're too cheap to give out the driver & and the OS CD, even though it would've been for Vista. That's what I like about Dell, they actually have all the drivers for XP. Do any manufacturers ship with XP these days?
  14. Just don't call in for support and you'll be fine lol. Although I have no doubt, you will with a 1330 =/
  15. search?
  16. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=24498&hl That's the topic I followed. Extract the download, take out the driver folder. Run /S on the setup.exe. I think audio console would be under the application section, you may have to download that and install that separately. I don't know, I only installed the drivers.
  17. can you please give me a link to the file that you're downloading? The one from Creative, I don't know what they do at driver heaven.
  18. I have the audigy 2 ZS I believe. Extracted the download, then went into the driver folder and just did a /S on the setup.exe. That doesn't work?
  19. Call Dell if you're still under warranty. They would've made you run a 32-bit diag test on the sound card. If it had produced sound, then a software error obviously. Since it seems to be hardware related, they would've dispatched you a sound card. Now esentially what you need to do is, open the case, drain the flea power. Remove the power cables to your drives. Turn it on. If it still doesn't turn on, remove all the cards, remove memory, reseat the power connector to the motherboard. Turn the system on, if it beeps then it's asking for memory. If it doesn't beep, you have a problem. Reseat the CMOS battery. Ask to dispatch a motherboard/power supply. Call them, and tell them you've done all these already. Journal ID: 073602G3CX Give them that ID also. http://support.dell.com/support/topics/glo...mp;toggle=false They pretty much follow that link step by step. If you've done all that, it will give you that above Journal ID. 10 min call
  20. I believe you have to install it on a real machine then take the image of it. VMWare uses its own drivers and I don't think the ones you use for your computer ever gets installed.
  21. Someone is going to have to try the switches from the .exe to see if it works, then tell you. Might as well you try it and let the rest of us know including yourself
  22. Auto it is used because there are no silent installer switches. So the point is to go through each window clicking next. For WinXP Manager, download the .exe then run the program. Then go into "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temp" and find the 3ec26.msi file. Copy that and run it with /quiet.
  23. Correct. As he said most distribution sites don't allow .exe files to be uploaded in case it contains malicious files. So it's just zipped. Download, extract, run without a switch.
  24. Setup_OfficeMenu_Ent.msi /quiet PROP_HIDEALLMENUITEM=0 PROP_HIDEBUILDINTABS=1 PROP_SHOWATLAST=0 PROP_LICENSENAME="User Name" PROP_LICENSECODE=XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX so yes.
  25. it's a switchless installer, meaning, just type in the name of the file as he mentioned in the post above yours.
