  1. any idea on how to silent install? /S works fine but at the end pops up with "Would you like to open the configuration console" How can I get rid of that? Edit: Never mind. Chose to use autoit.
  2. Not to be rude, but you should read up on unattended installations of vista. Your question has been answered already but what you're looking for is someone else to do your work, someone to give you a file, chuck it in your dvd and say done, things aren't that easy
  3. If it's Vista, you can't. XP, you can just go to add/remove programs and find it in the list at the bottom.
  4. XP, probably because I'm used to it. I hate Vista's menu, it's all compressed, I hate having to scroll down to find something. Never got used to the search either lol, I'd rather just know where everything is.
  5. also in ""
  6. Installed .Net framework?
  7. Maybe reinstall the application, delete the start menu item then uninstall?
  8. Choose the drivers section on nlite, click next, then click integrate drop down at the bottom and select "all drivers" then point it to say the audio folder. It will automatically give you a choice, then choose XP or Vista or w/e OS you're running. Some drivers are compatible with vista/xp so you'll have a choice but most will only give you one. Do the same for all the drivers, or you can just point it to the root folder, but it might get confusing when it gives you a bigger list.
  9. http://www.doitrightconsulting.net/forum/v...hp?f=8&t=94 RougheSpear has one made, you'll have to register there though. Lots of nice silent apps.
  10. picsbook.net
  11. Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended Manufacturer: Adobe Category: Graphics and Publishing Retail Price: $999.00 Our Price: $99.95 You save: $899.05 I highly doubt that place is legit. You can't even contact them without that form. I'd be willing to bet you won't get a reply.
  12. Well happened again today. One tried to create a minidump but failed cause I can't open it. The other one went through and the file seems to be MSPCLOCK.sys. I've attached both dump files. Mini031208-02.dmp is the good one. Minidump.rar
  13. If you're a CS studen you also get Windows XP Pro
  14. Double click the .exe and let it sit there. Go into your "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Temp" folder and see if there's an msi file.
  15. No virus/malware for sure. Clean install of XP. Ran a memtest, first thing I actually did because I upgraded the memory and it started to happen a months after that. Reinstalled video/audio drivers, along with codecs, flash & shockwave. So far, I'm good, been able to watch it. As for the minidump..uh would you believe me if I say it's not there anymore? Went to upload it and the file isn't there. Umm yeah, lets see what happens.
  16. Tried that, and there's only one file in there. Won't let me open it as it looks like it's corrupted. Also, it has the date 07/03/2008 3:13 AM. I clearly remember playing a game with a friend and didn't have a crash during that time. Not sure where it came from really.
  17. My computer is getting random blue screens and locks up whenever I watch online videos, on such sites as youtube, megavideo, break etc... Only during those, I can play intensive games or leave the computer on for days and it'd be fine. It gives me 0x0A, 0x7e, 0x8B(?) forgot the last one, and sometimes nothing, just locks up and I have to restart it manually. What's wrong? Windows XP MCE nlited. (Didn't remove a single thing using nlite, only added registry tweaks). This DVD has been working for many many months without a problem, so I don't think that's it. CPU temp is 44C & MB is 43C. I do see a significant jump on CPU temp to 55C when playing these videos online. Playing HQ videos on my system is fine, never restarts, I can watch movies for hours and hours without a problem. Where to start? Any help would be great. XP MCE 32bit Nvidia GeForce 7600GT Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Intel Pentium 4 3.00 GHz ASUS P5B Motherboard 4GB DDR2 800MHz Memory
  18. You seem angry at the world. Dell is the only company (Past 2004) includes CD's. Prior to 2004 they had the MRI (Media Reduction Initiative) running where they didn't send out CD's. Now you get it with the system, and you can call up at anytime even after the warranty expires you can get the CD's without a question. I can't say the same for Toshiba or HP in the year 2008 where DVD's cost a mere 20c. I asked for CD's they told me to burn the image using your own cd. You don't even get the OS CD. From another topic I already posted, I may come across as a disgruntled employee but face the facts. The mindset of a person working there is to get a sale on every call. If you buy something they'll fix your computer with a big smile on their face, if they look at your order details and find that you have the best of the best, they'll shrug you off, run a long test, ask you to call back. Asking a sales person to sell is fine. Asking tech support to sell while they have a 4 year warranty is not. Anyway, try getting tech support when there's 1 NA call center. Go ahead, buy it, but don't expect anything when your system goes blank when you've paid for the extra warranty Anyway, done in this topic. To the poster, it's a good system, but you'll end up paying more at the end for sure. Be it out of your own pocket, or having a constant headache. I've worked in other companies too, and I wouldn't say the same about them.
  19. Not if they changed it in the last week
  20. Dell sucks. Worst company ever, I only say it because I was employed there. If not for the product being cheap, it's the internal workings of the management working there. No one knows how to operate anything in the building. Things change on a daily basis and it's extremely difficult to follow one procedure because it's outdated the next day you come in. In 2 weeks, there will be only one North American support center for consumers, the rest are outsourced. HP, however is on the way to getting more NA support. Call Dell technical support and you'll be pestered to buy something because they're loosing money. Yes, any department you call will ask you for money even if you're under warranty for the next 4 years. It used to be about supporting the customer, now it's giving another solution through the means of the customer paying more money. Computer slow? Lets not go through the system to see why it's slow, lets just upgrade more memory and sweet talk the customer into buying one. I may sound like a disgruntled employee that quit, but that's exactly why I quit. They ask to throw away ethics and moral values to make a buck. Only buy a Dell if you have worked there just because you know how it works and you can get what you want. Other than that, any other company will do.
  21. Try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

  23. Notice a definite change on speed I used Vista before, then went back to XP cause it was so sluggish. Installed Vista with SP1 now, things just pop up! The only thing I hate about it is that I can't change the user document location like I was able to in XP. Too many registry settings to play with and I don't feel like doing that. Rather just point a folder to another drive. Oh well, can't have everything.
