  1. You should be able to get the CD from HP for free, even if it is out of warranty. Dell does that for sure, but not sure about HP. When I ordered my Upgrade to Win 7 from toshiba, it's the only company that charged me 20$, somewhere I remember reading all the other companies send it out for free. Anyway call HP, or try a chat session if they have one, it's easier.
  2. I've answered yes and I've answered no. The install always goes fine with SP3 integrated. I'm not sure what it removes when you press yes though.
  3. A google search told me to reinstall messenger. Try that.
  4. You can just kill the process after. avgscanx.exe
  5. Off topic: this thread gives me a chuckle lol
  6. I don't want to get into an argument. Like I said, I have been using it for years and I love everything about it, but there comes a time where there's too much of it. Not for everyone, but for me. N-lite was created for the sole purpose of slimming down XP, a big chunk of the software forum here is how to eliminate un-needed things and not install services and tool bars and all the stuff the companies bundle it with. Then I see WPI with flag icons o.0 I was just trying to get rid of things I'll never use and apparently it hit a nerve. Reason why I upgrade is because there are few IE fixes that come along with it, but it seems all that is solved so I might just stick with the current one I have. Sorry, and continue your work and thank you for it.
  7. You need to integrate the sata drivers on your windows xp cd. Using nlite is probably the easiest method i've seen. http://www.msfn.org/board/integration-inte...rs-t107504.html Make sure you have all the drivers for XP before you install though, most times you may not be able to find them.
  8. Ah same problem here. I've never used the GUI to add commands, always edited it myself. If you look a bit further down I created a thread, and removed some of the things he said, and I just ran into random problems for some reason. Need nuhi to create a wLite =D
  9. Run the install file, then go to the temp folder and you'll see an msi file.
  10. I think when you choose the partition, it lets you choose how to format, NTFS or FAT. I'm not 100% sure on that, maybe someone else can verify.
  11. [unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended UnattendSwitch="Yes" OemPreinstall="Yes" OemSkipEula="Yes" FileSystem=* WaitForReboot="No" NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Hibernation="No" AutoActivate = Yes That's what I have in mine. Works every time
  12. [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1,13,17,3,2,5,16,4,12,15,7,8,10,11,9,6,14 http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/referen...calsupport.mspx
  13. 1. Start the install (don't finish) 2. Go to temp folder 3. finish/cancel the install
  14. Yes, it has all the themes folders, but other than the 3 you listed, we have to download the themes correct? I use Tango, the folder is there, and it is listed, but I needed to download the theme to make it work. Took me a minute to figure out why it's listed, why the Tango folder is there, yet won't work, until I clicked inside the tango folder. Anyway, that's what I was saying.
  15. There are no themes in there by default. All it does is list the theme names. You have to download the theme you like from the wpi site and chuck it in there, then you can choose that particular theme. PS: I don't see the point of listing all the theme if they're not in there in the first place. Should just list w/e themes that are in the folder. My 2 cents.
  16. Thank you.
  17. I love this software, and I've been using it for a really long time. 3 years I think, but to me, I don't use all the gizmo and gadgets that come with it. I love the theme and the options, but to me it's becoming "bloat". I hope you don't take offense to it, because it's my personal opinion and I'm probably one of the very few who uses it with just app.exe /S and nothing else. I know the coding can't be removed and it's no big deal, but what can I do to get rid of all the languages and the image files that I don't use. I often copy it over to a testing vmware and it just takes so long copying all these files that aren't necessary. Can you give me a list of all things that I can remove but still have a working WPI at the end. I use English. There was a similar thread way back, but I can't find it now.
  18. I don't think there's a switch to turn it off, might be, but i'm not aware of it. What I do is, change the AVG settings to my liking and then import those settings over the existing ones. They're located in "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\avg8\Cfg"
  19. you need to download the themes first, then extract it into the themes folder then you can change it. themes are where you downloaded wpi from. or just edit wallpaper.jpg and put in your own
  20. try: cmds[pn]=['"%CDROM%\\DVD-Apps\\eMulePlus-1.2e.Installer.exe" /VERYSILENT /SP- /S'];
  21. http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/ created numerous iso's without a problem.
  22. Anyone know how to force Process Monitor and Task Manager to keep running after closing the connection to a server in windows xp environment?
  23. Grake

    No to all

Looks like he's using either Vista or 7, as he seems to have UAC. Don't know of any other versions with UAC.
  24. oh get rid of the -ms at the end as well.
