360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
Dixel replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
What makes you think so? It's September - golden season! People are on vacation, nothing unusual. How did it run 360Explorer? I guess it was a nightmare?- 2,340 replies

Insert some other title CD-ROM in A: - what?
Dixel replied to e5frog's topic in Windows XP 64 Bit Edition
Hi. Is there a possibility you reconsider and use an ISO with SP2 already integrated? Nlite doesn't want to be friendly with the 64bit version, it's to be expected. -
I'm sure it's a good decision, we'll see how far it will help. I remember it all went downhill very quickly after 110 (which can be ported to windows 7 and Vista). I think things will get real ugly after or even in 120. I don't want this to be a prediction, there are people who are obviously not that happy when my predictions become true. By that time, I hope you will make a new topic about the "Future of Chrome on Windows 10".

Yes they did, I predicted about Win 7 (which is the topic here!) and 8, 8.1 (which is the topic's subject in the thread I made my predictions).

My Browser Builds (Part 4)
Dixel replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Since youtube doesn't offer HEVC videos, could you give a couple of examples of such websites with H2655/x265 videos? thanks. -
jaclaz, I'm afraid I have to disagree about the term "generic", some time ago I was asked a specific question, I clearly predicted it about the memory function. Not just , "hey, guys, I know Chrome will soon not work". I think you're confusing me with someone else. Regards, Dixel.

Good to know! But for how long? From what I observe, the development (of adding bloat) is at the speed of light lately. Opera added AI since 101, and so on.

I once had a problem with a bad USB3.0 cable, it was wobbly and very thin (WD Elementals 8TB plastic box), I replaced it, and all works fine since. The error was similar, Windows told me: small files couldn't be deleted (protected).

I already predicted it would have happened (link), I'm not surprised, even though folks wrote their chrome still worked on the old Win 10 at that time. So looks like now 1809 is the new bare minimum, link. And like I said before. the whole memory function would have to be replaced to be able to run on such old versions, link. This would explain the delays with the Chinese forks of Chrome for Win 7. Each new release will be harder and harder to port, so build from scratch is the only method left. As you all see, I could be the new clairvoyant, in addition to @D.Draker, I think I don't even have to mention, @jaclaz's half-functional (maintenance mode?) crystal ball is already mine.

Or just to force you to make an account (a "free" account), so they can track you more easily! Here's an example of such site. https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtitles/

Hello and welcome, George from Australia! You've come to the right place! There are a lot windows 11 users at MSFN.

They suggest to run chrome exe in Vista compatibility, tick the checkbox for Run this program in compatibility mode for, select Windows Vista from the drop-down menu, and then click OK https://windowsreport.com/chrome-white-screen/

And 12TB and up are 4TB, it seems. I even remember cutting those pins to remove all artificial blocks. Don't do it, if you're not sure! The second chip is usually the culprit. (not always). https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/c46men/problem_with_wd_my_book_enclosure_snipping_pins_7/

Which makes me think it's simply too many outsourced platters with bad sectors. Why I think so? Hard disks contain equal sized platters, example, 6TB and 8TB have 3x2TB and 4x2TB. Old 3TB models (from 15 years ago) had 2x1.5TB or even 1x1.5 (as one disk, they had such disks. WD green, for example), so what platters they use in 5TB, if we are to consider your theory, jaclaz, I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just curious. What I want to say, perhaps the limit is also in the controller, to make sure no one hacks the original HDD firmware to be able to use the full 6TB (real size).
-
5TB HDD is itself strange, looks like it's an outsorted 6TB, with a damaged platter, reduced to 5TB with its firmware. It's nothing new, it had been done before.

Best Xonar Drivers for Vista , help to find this exact one.
Dixel replied to D.Draker's topic in Windows Vista
Thank you very much for the link! I don't have that exact card, but the driver also works with other Xonar series cards, just need to replace the device ID, a very good driver, indeed! -
Got mine blocked for dozens of time, each time when I was on holidays, when tried to post from another countries. Always a show, too complicated, they always want to have "proof it's you" and so on. Insane, simply insane.

Instagram is mostly for those who have something to show: perfect bodies, fancy life, interesting pets, cars. For those who don't have either, it's just not suitable. I shouldn't say it's a complete crap, but their requirements for "always logged in" are crappy, I agree. The same can be said about Firefox. https://msfn.org/board/topic/183138-mozilla-and-firefox-has-turned-into-evil-and-lie-to-their-userbase-leave-it-and-go-for-alternatives/
