My Browser Builds (Part 2)
asdf2345 replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I thought it was possible, I was following a Chromium on XP project, basically got abandoned once the creator couldn't figure out how to add GDI back, but enough progress was made where the UI actually launches on Vista, but the browser engine doesn't work on Vista. -

Maybe you could reset the Serpant 55 development, and try porting over the Waterfox Classic features, security updates, and try making like a 54 with all the 56 features. Would give people an incentive to use it over MyPal -
My Browser Builds (Part 2)

What is Serpant55 then? Are the changes between 55 and 56 that massive, or is the 55 meaningless? -
My Browser Builds (Part 2)

What I think should really happen is for Roytam1 to attempt to backport a slightly more modern browser, like Waterfox Classic. It's only 4 versions away from 52, so I doubt there are any massive changes that can't be fixed. -

No WebExtensions work with Pale Moon. It was functioning in the early Basilisk days, but cut out. It's one of the main reasons I don't use Pale Moon. -

Is it possible to install Windows Vista on a Surface Pro 6?
asdf2345 replied to GD 2W10's topic in Windows Vista
I haven't gotten working NVMe drivers on my Ryzen system, and Vista has issues on Haswell and newer. You might just need to use a VM. -
I'd suggest OP go with x64 if they have a x64 capable CPU. It improves compatibility, and is usually stable, and objectively more secure. I ran x64 Windows 7 on my 3GB laptop back in the day without issue.

Thanks, needed to use it for this post, but I kinda messed up.

Off topic, but how do you do that reveal hidden contents thing?

Switching between thread pages broke again after server crash

Did some quick testing, and it looks like it was Firefox's built in tracking protection. I tested with 78 ESR, and disabling my tracking protection on it -
Switching between thread pages broke again after server crash

It was a fresh install of Firefox 45 I did for testing on a XP install I believe. I main a mix of Waterfox Classic and Waterfox Current, which both don't experience the issue either. -
Need to try this on a stock install of 7, tons of programs I use make use of 127.0.0.1, so it's filed with things. Also, wouldn't it be easier to look for compattelrunner.exe, and look for DiagTrack, and dwmappushservice in services.msc?

Windows Vista x64 on Skylake with Easy2Boot?

How do you know it's Haswell+, if you don't know the CPU? -
Switching between thread pages broke again after server crash
asdf2345 replied to i430VX's topic in Site & Forum Issues
It appears to happen with Chromium browsers, even Firefox 45 loaded the page fine, but any Chromium version, even after a fresh install, gets this loading error. Never seen a site that supports Gecko more than Blink in recent history. -
Yeah, 2700X and X470 Gaming Pro Carbon. Been having the same issues for a long time
-
You might be experiencing the same issues I do then. Edit: Damn, now I really think it's an AGESA problem

10 people would be more than 1/50 of the people subscribed to the subreddit, so it'd be significant. I also was working on a post, and was almost finished, but my computer black screened, and I lost everything I typed, so I don't really want to bother with having to make another post.

I have an idea about getting the 372.70 drivers fully working on Vista. I recently discovered a subreddit, r/XtremeG, and it's all about driver modding. The idea is someone makes a request for them to fix the issues with 372.70 with Vista, and other users from this forum upvote, or even comment on the post to make it seem like a popular idea. I think it would be a good idea to use these images in the post too
