Force "multiprocess mode" in FF 52
XPerceniol replied to Mathwiz's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hi I have extensions.interposition.enabled set to false; while, I have extensions.interposition.prefetching set to true, is that right? I also leave prefetch settings at the defaults, do you as well? Thanks in advance.- 142 replies

Been trying it today and is very choppy.

Life has taught me to set 'the bar' lower. Sorry I've been MIA lately, been rough I guess, I don't know. Hope everyone is doing better than I am.

Yeah, IMO - being social is overrated, better to find a way to enjoy our own company because in the end the only one you can (truly) count on is yourslef.

yeah ... the happiness trap comes to mind. Balance is the key

I think I'll never let go of XP as its great for other things besides internet access. Other than that, I think we can always keep it for so long as it stop working totally. I quite enjoy my music recording programs and they are very old and obsolete. -
Yeah, and the weather is getting nice and the very last thing I want is another thing to keep me inside, I'm pale as a ghost and need exercise and sun (Natural Vit D)

Oh ... I see. Tell you the truth, I have my back to the TV anyway as I sit in my computer chair and usually have something running softly in the background when I feel lonely. Strange because I prefer to be alone and I do enjoy my own company. Just nights like this the insomnia is kicking my butt. Sometimes I just can't make sense of things during the day and I carry it with me - hard to explain. Need to remember I can't make sense of things in the world outside of my control. Sorry guys to be a downer :(

What is a converter box? I've looked it up and I was never offered one but I only have basic news stations that housing complex supplies us and I use the computer and enjoy my DVDs. I've thought about trying an antenna but I just connect to the wall from the TV and its a very old one (the TV not the wall), but it works. Some people here got a new TV last year that complained. My word I'm a mess today, well, every day, actually lol...

Seeking Privacy Disk Software for Windows 9x
XPerceniol replied to FantasyAcquiesce's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I've stopped using anything other than CCleaner now and thank to @Sampei.Nihira ... I now use custom rules for things other than web browsing/browsers. Hmmm. What are "Things" anyway; I've always wondered. Just kidding - or am it? -

Yeah, makes me question programs that clean the system and any program (I suspect) just replaces with their own data -
Thank you for your help! I wish there were more development that could be done with V11 and improve on chrome 69 to make it more up-to-date, but, sorry, I've not a clue of how to do such. Yeah, don't know how many people are still using it, I think its very good and still like DC Browser as well, but rarely use it as V11 does what I need with limited resources. I can run V13 but its too much of a hog.

Good grief ... even with IE disabled (or so I thought, anyway), I'm still able to access websites using (typing in the address bar in) windows explorer. Ugh Looks like I may have to ( indeed ) stay up 24/7 and monitor traffic. Oh well ... sleep is overrated; or so they say. Just as I suspected, IE is never (truly) gone and baked into windows explorer. What a way to end the evening so I'll be expecting nightmares tonight

Good to hear everything is alright. Thank you for the fast reply - I have the same set and also the following flag. I have disabled IE as well and remove DEP / Integrated Win Auth / Native Profile Assist / Smart Screen ... and enable TLS 1.2. I don't allow Dom Storage either. Again - thanks and I'm surprised I'm doing something right for a change. PS: I usually still get a green padlock on most sites with your 360 V11

HI! Same - hope is well with you and your family. Slight hesitant to sound like a (compete) nincompoop (medical term, of course) how did you block and disable the "certificate crap" on your computer? I agree, don't need nor care about it. I understand the risk if I decide to visit a website that is "secure". Without updated root certificates, how do you manage to even go on the internet? Thanks in advance :)

Yeah ... miss the 98 games. Used 98 and 98SE for years (and years) after it was "dead". Welcome to the forum :)

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
XPerceniol replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I see, no point with bothering to go wish Vista either now, but my hardware is (likely) not capable for 7 and I don't really wish to use it. Ugh Guess just go until we can't no longer. I'd go with linux if I had to, but so much isn't usable about it, so I don't know what I'd do. Zorin 32 bit or Linux Lite 32 bit is about all I can do. I read new computers are made so you can't downgrade from nasty beast that is windows 11. Everything is baked into the chips. I don't fully understand it all, but pretty soon everything is just going to be a smart phone tablet. -
