i don't know. i guess you'd have to add up the power requirements of all your components to really get a good idea. newer video cards often require a separate power supply directly from the PSU. the MB, RAM, CPU, sound card, fans, drives and whatever other extras would all have to factored in.

mmm... i think you can forget Americas Army. CUBE should run like a dream though. let me know if you try it and how you like it if you do.

you know what, i installed AA twice and twice i removed it. i'm going to look into that again. i never got far enough to be 'qualified' for on-line play (and i didn't want to "patch" it). AA runs on the Unreal engine and it seems that engine allows powerful scripting capability. thanks for mentioning that.

that detects mine as OEM. in my eula, RTL is listed. both are incorrect. mine is VLK. this works for me
-
i take it 'RTL" is retail? that's what my eula says, though that's not correct. mine is VLK.

you may have to use /release before /renew - not sure about that.

does it crash with no extensions installed? does it crash in safe mode (not windows, firefox)? ever run memtest to check your memory?

RegSupreme Pro - not free however. this one seems to pick up where the others leave off. i also use CCleaner and it's pretty sweet, but it usually leaves a lot of stuff behind that RegSupreme catches. i have never found (and i tried a LOT of them) a reg cleaner that catches everything. actually the best reg cleaner would be if MS pulls it's head out it's butt and uses the reg to store only system/user settings, like it was supposed to do in the first place. supposedly in Vista that's going to begin to change. i watched a video interview with one of the Vista dev departments and they were asked if they wish the registry would've never have been created. one of them laughed. they realize and admit that the registry is bloated with 3rd party software settings writtin by developers who also need to pull their head of their butt. they (MS) failed to place restrictions on how developers can use the registry.

to add to the confusion... this may help you... or not... http://www.hiddensoft.com/AutoIt/ i've never used it, but a lot of people seem to like it. -
hmmm... well, it's an OEM -$300 includes XP Pro +$150 includes office +$100 includes mcafee -$100 if you give me $150, i'll think it over just kidding man! i don't know what it's worth, but i'd guess about $200-300, maybe a little more. check what similar systems are doing on ebay.

you said you had FF installed at one point. did you check to see if IE is the default browser? also, check the file associations (explorer.exe > tools > folder options > file types)... internet shortcut htm html url i'm not really good with this stuff, but maybe that will help.

possibly. what directory are to trying to delete? is it a standard directory installed with windows?
-
see the last item in the first table here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Command_line_arguments hope that helps.

if i'm not mistaken, which i very well could be, isn't the original Quake free now? here's an interesting website that lists game engines. you can filter the list for free/OS engines and then find links to developers that use them. this is probably an even better resource. EDIT oh, and then there's Americas Army - free.

ok guys. i admit it. I am b177 g@73s (i have to use my secret name here) BTW... i decided to incorporate nLite in all future versions of windows - you know, to remove all the clutter and other useless, annoying, privacy threatening stuff we stuck in there in the first place. i also decided that we're going to switch to Firefox and Thunderbird. oh, did i mention that we're opening up all the windows source code? have a nice day

well, the structure of that statement is pretty crappy, however i can see where they're coming from. MS is heavily involved in government and law enforcement and campaign contributions and who knows what else billy has his fingers in. pie toss status: APPROVED

you want a fun, fast FPS based on Quake? for free? no limitations at all? ok... CUBE
-
thanks! i like the quake engine because it's so simple to script for. still, i'm checking out the others as well. ah, i found this... COD2 engine: partial quote from http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_1.html
-
cool and quiet enabled perhaps? mine usually runs ~1/2 its speed (1 GHz) when it's not loaded.
-
i have not tried COD or MOH. i've heard a lot of good things about BF though. i will check them all out. you know what engines they use?
-
hiya all i'm not all hip on the new games that are out there. basically i'm looking for a CS replacement - a tactical, based on real-life, first person shooter. i know about BF1942 and some MOD i tried for the Unreal engine. the Unreal MOD i didn't like at all and i've not yet tried BF. any suggestions?
-
what do you mean "smaller"? if you mean the font sizes, sure you can change it: tools > options > content > fonts and colors (thats the path for FF 1.5 - may be a bit different in earlier releases). after trying FF for the first time, i myself went right back to IE. finally i made the switch however and after giving it a good shot, there's NO turning back! please see my post here for more helpful info.

whether it's funny or not is a personal choice. for me: funny as hell if you're going to be extremely wealthy, then it's likely your going to have adversaries. again, does anyone know why he was pied?
