why would anyone use MS search at all

well personally I don't care as they are shooting themself in the leg all I see in my country widely, that goverment institutions use either win7 or server 2003 while stores and supermarkets use XP for cashiers that says something

I never used vistas nor 7's search as they both suck a** so does of 8 and 10 indexer is garbage, and MS never uses MFT search which is instant and no resource hungry at all as for XP UI, whats wrong with it ? - don't misplace ugly theme and UI itself, 2 big different things

not really IE or more specific MSHTML is integrated into system (shell needs it) and as of winblows 8, its mandatory for metro-crap to me anything that is so tight integrated into system = ticking bomb I don't even enjoy having .net 2 integrated, yet it has to be coz of DWM but what happens when security hole is found within .net 2 ? they won't support it coz its out of real use, its ancient

unless patch is something critical, why bother ? I have unpatched XP since 2011 and unpatched win7 since 2010 no problems there

win8's DWM works differently than that in vista and 7 it is always "on", and MS removed code that forcedly disables DWM while in vista/7 as soon you select basic theme, OS reverts to XP theme engine (CPU) and classic ... well thats just pure naked shell ... altho I don't see reason to have DWM with classic look unless directdraw causes you bugs ?

err youre wrong in the start html5 playback does require plugin, but those come within browsers as browser has to have ability for playing certain files (ogg/vp-x264) in other words any browser that wasn't made fully to support html 5 won't be able to even play those videos to me flash is better, but older version as it seems everything above version 10 was simply bloatware cross-system, yup html5 is better but compatibility with older machines/browsers - flash is better

trust me with winblows there will always be in a need for geeky helpers and/or "DOY" no matter what area is in question they are locking the system down more and more that only brings more rebelion than peace

I really haven't played with XP and nLite in last 3-4 years but I recall someone writing somewhere that you can't do XP edits with nlite on win7 machine is that true ?
