What is it about Spartan that you find the tiniest bit interesting?
vinifera replied to NoelC's topic in Windows 10
spartan = IE + Seadragon -
in this case its not about OS but codec and app and/or plugin+browser codec tells GPU what to do, no matter if its 2k, XP, "7" or "10" browser+plugin is different storry, every browser comes with internal plugin for "html 5 video" aka vp6/7 h264 or if you have flash, flash is by itself resource s*** hungry felhound some browsers work ok with it some dont but 2k and/or XP takes far less resources (tweaked ofc) you can make XP to take only 64 MB RAM by time it loads all files to desktop XP also doesn't use shitty dotnet framework as base that uses garbage collector to decrypt what is valid code to run in JIT

they show even if hidden when you expand User folder or click on it at least on winblows "7" and if you delete them OS goes FUBAR
-
thats why I will never go beyond Win "7"
-
ah yes the shit a** libraries you can't even remove them, and if you hide them the tree view folder will still show them piece of shit microsoft

well if you love METRO so much then investigate what is controling UAC if its separated service(s) from svchost then you can make blank app that does nothing and name it under those service(s) maybe even import api calls that are required that do some check if its UAC or not but IMO if you want ads out, get ridd of IE and this new spartan crap forever and youre good to go

I have it but for other purposes

I like file manager of windows 7 its more originated also change the gui to look like windows xp would be simple and easily accessible yes but it is so freaking bugged that it annoys the s*** out of me heres few things on top of my mind 1. folders and files are treated differently for keyboard-key-select if i enter a folder with bunch of subfolders, and bunch of pictures in same main folder if i press key S just to switch to folder with name S, since folders have priority NO, idiotic win7 will go all the way down to first picture with name S, why ? - BECAUSE I didn't click on folder 1st and then pressed S button 2. list view length most known annoying s*** in explorer, you can have dozen short name files but if its just one or 3 under different alphabet letter that are like 15 chars, then ALL columns will get length of those long names just for lulz so you can scroll forever 3. item selection god **** with this when you select a subfolder sometimes its not selected at all so instead deleting "selected" subfolder, dumb a** s*** will delete your main folder 4. deletion hook even if app that uses some file is closed, you will NOT be able to delete it or rename or move it coz STUPID a** explorer.exe was somehow hooked to it 5. well known sorting often when renaming something, explorer either auto-sorts item or doesn't at all F5 won't help, you have to go to another folder and come back there are more but ugh...

Windows 7; taskbar + DWM + firewall, and XP's File Manager + lightness of OS = victory

this is called libraries since Windows 7 its bit different for library to work you have to INDEX it and indexer is slow a** piece of sh** that not only writes down in another database location of these files that you index but it constantly then reads them up again Longhorn had advantage of winFS then, which WAS already DB no indexing was required, it was read and linked instantly win7 ain't doing that, not any win after that

JorgeA Pivot was used in My Pictures & Documents folders, as in XP they were unfinished as project ANY pictures that you had on ANY partition, were virtually linked and shown in My Pictures folder thus with Pivot turned ON, you didn't had to search for pictures all over PC and partitions and whatever folders, but ALL of them were "stiffed" (again virtually linked) into 1 folder, consider it as aggregated album MHz OSX Leopard shows real virtual desktop, where all any object on it including icons are independent while win "8" and "10", use something that was made ever since NT 4, a fake virtual desktop, you can drag your apps there, but icons are always that from main desktop/surface "1" so its not real virtual desktop, if i put .doc file on my main desktop, it will appear on any "other made" its BS

well I'm sure BING works fine ahahahah

remove .net completely convert .net parts back into "win32" code stop jerking people around with various restrictions tweak fucking SxS as its useless garbage collector provide user more attractive OS UI, skin and desktop wise - where is all the DX live Aurora from Longhorn days ? - why not provide parallax desktop like Java Looking Glass 3D OS ? - why not add something unique to the OS and simpler dialogs easy to access return the Pivot from Longhorn 3718 make REAL virtual desktops, not just revamped crap from NT 4 days under new name

don't have it what i'm doing now is moving all files to PC will take out the memory card, clean the contacts then remove back in order by file type (pictures, music) so there at least by my logic, nothing gets scattered if that fails I don't know what the heck should I do... ----------------- ok done all that and it still gives me same problems the only problem it might be that "filesystem" of card is FAT, (i guess fat16 ????) but I don't have a MP3 bigger than ~9 MB if that causes issues ? "oh lord", think I found problem, my poor old phone can't handle VBR, so songs must be CBR

problem with formatting is that when phone is connected via usb to pc pc "combines" both internal phone and sd card memory into one drive so if i do format i would screw some internal sys settings of phone itself
