  1. to me vista had worst UI in history of win32, too clunky and too scattered on all sides although win "7" fixed the clunkiness a bit, the scattered options are still there, a non user friendly where winblows 8 only made this worse as for security NT would be far more resilient if IE would have been taken out from shell completely and yet again I doubt we will ever see this, even less now coz Metro depends on it and those boneheads did it on purpose now they can justify having IE as "must" integrated deeper and they get IE usage share bigger again monopoly is back
  2. well sorry to say but in 9 years ... such low number simply means user registered at one point, made few posts, then left for 8 years and now calls a card based on registration time during he probably was hybrid or unaware of this place until he found some link back again what does that tell you about person ? + don't forget this post http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/90065-ive-been-here-for-almost-2-years/
  3. thats why you DON'T use IE in 1st place
  4. with UAC disabled and no ability to run Metro apps just shows how devs are not able to make sandboxed IE, but have to do system wide restrictions which just shows how still IE and NT shell are in danger of being exploited its funny how everybody is praising whole NT 6 line to be so much safer than NT 5 while in fact if you disable UAC (annoyance), you get the same level of security that of NT 5 one should ask, will Windows NT ever be safe ? (I think not)
  5. better ask per year
  6. its not only nvidia every vendor is in question the 9x OS is very picky and sensitive on drivers, especially IRQ addresses I know I HATED 98SE, every little now and then BSOD, just because some crap VxD driver ME kinda fixed this and was less prone to driver BSOD's but freezing during the work annoyed the shitze out of me
  7. maybe not relevant to any here but I think they shot themself by changing UI elements all the time up until Vista we had standard UI.. the classic one look, no matter if it was skinned or not with Vista and 7 they changed it into fancy Aero (which granted was in development since late 2002) but with 8 they try to force fullscreen UI crappy named "modern", ... and where did that led to... oh wait they will bring back the _ [] X on it the one thing they will never learn that users of Windows are not only new kids but they have base users since 80-ies thus UI must be modular and left for user to choose which one he/she/it likes/wants
  8. buyerninety why should I care about Canada and renting does NOT make something yours can't believe grown up person can't understand this... and for the 3rd time, and hopefully last time, if-you-leave-something-on-non_your-property-don't-expect-it-to-be-secured
  9. larryb123456 I would feel angry, but then again I would never place any things on grave as even people who put mini statues or figures from metal and meld them with obsidian they get ripped out and stolen to be sold for X price also its not issue of what would I feel but what is rule of stolen on non private propery you guys make too big issue out of this you nag if something is stolen from grave, which NOBODY guards yet if you'd do the same 1 block away from your house, you'd be fine with that well boo hoo get real 1. its not YOUR private property, as you only pay for RENT of grave place 2. its only common courtesy if someone will leave your precious crap there or take it didn't your guys parents taught "if you leave your toy and get stolen, don't cry ?"
  10. @TmEE yes drivers were most problematic so whenever you watch a video or try to play a game ... BSOD so much for stability
  11. 9 years 16 posts that makes you worst PR member
  12. I see nothing wrong there same rule apply for leaving things laying around on the street if it aint YOUR private property, and stuff is left, its free for all
  13. I don't run any win98 or ME but if I did, I would certainly miss stability of OS as I remember switching to win2000 was such a relief
  14. I get that on many random sites its cache thing all right
  15. wait a sec are they releasing "hotfixes" for win7 that actually spam something to use winblows 8 ?
  16. I'd take 1 and 2, cube zero was disaster 1 being most mysterious 2 having the mystery about time chaos unfortunately CZ was screw up, they could have made so much better sequels imagine merge of cube 1, 2 and add another crew of cube 3, a true multi dimensional cube with a bit more money invested they could had hired good CGI crew to montage parts from 1 & 2 into 3
  17. nope, these are more feature packs as they change the shell and functionality of OS this was never been done in previous Win-OS-es, except people do b***h about XP SP2 which actually wasn't feature pack, it just reactivated things that were deactivated
  18. Screamers (1995) Split Second (I cry as there is no HD version of this, great movie) Event Horizon (even if popular many misunderstood this film, as in too much christianity crap comparison while movie has nothing to do with it) Sphere (another misunderstood movie, people take story too literal in "what I saw it is", while its deeper, much deeper) Dark City
  19. is it just me or they have more problems with this so called updates than with service pack-ing ? is it just me or everything that they plan, turns into pile of shit ?
  20. hell I never knew NT 4 supports multi cores which makes me wonder why did XP kinda lag with operations with only my 2 cores O_o
  21. so many freeware editions of quality AV's + MBAM and you guys cry of crappy MSE
  22. all I will say is consider NT 4 to be win 95 era and NT 5 (2000) a win ME era if you already had ME on such PC, you're better off using win2000 on it that NT 4 (IMO)
  23. the **** thing has spyware written all over itself metro was just another excuse to integrate IE even deeper into OS that is necessary who is "we" ?
