@XKnoppix, silent_firefox.zip is no longer needed for your silent install, it only gives useful information about the process and how to build yours. you only need to run the 1.0.1 exe file. probably re-downloading the file will solve the corruption problem. @tjhart85, delete C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile and try to rebuild your default profile. if that doesn't work, delete/uninstall firefox and re-install it without messing with profiles. if that didn't solve the problem redownload firefox setup @sleepnmojo, have not heard about that before try to use the defaultsprofile\ method which will help at the time of using only 1 profile for every user

haha! i remember exactly this a time ago. is a profile problem. chrome.rdf doesn't point valid paths to the .jar files containing the skins. how to solve it? you'll need to rebuild your profile and be sure you followed STEP BY STEP the instructions by Astalavista meaning to don't mix the profile from %APPDATA% with defaultsprofile\. another thing is that i preffer this things to be posted on this thread b/c i don't wanna fill the board with simonsays' problems

medal of honor (spearhead expansion) is a really good MP game and also doesn't require high specs
-
does it work with all wmp10 language versions?
-
i like it another alternative and is an original way to create shortcuts

i didn't wanted to mean you were stupid, i just said is not that difficult about reiserfs, well i found this http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/ar...2004/10/4/20241 link interesting googl'ing so yes, it can be done. well i can't update the cd contents from within the CD itself, but think in the amount of benefits you obtain using the windows xp system. you can even play quake or any other game that doesn't need to be "propperly installed" don't misunderstand me, i think knoppix is great, been using it since 2.x versions but i'm very proud of the capabilities of my PE system and i don't need much more than what i described before. about your windows-linux thing, well i think this is not the correct forum to discuss it (j/k )
-
well is not that difficult about linux partitions, well i use ext2/3 explorer that let me access those filesystems from PE. hardware compatibility is mostly the same as sp2 offers as i built my version over it. barpe is for every machine old or new if hardware is detected and drivers installed. i own 2 machines with really different hardware (ibm p3 667 mhz and the one you can read specs at my signature) and i haven't had problems running PE on both systems. i can do exactly that plus explorer and windows' compatibility. i also have my custom icons for filetypes and i can play ANY media file including quicktime, real, xvid, ogm... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=41436

i guess that would be too difficult to manage all the physics of nfs:u2 free run between server and client. just guessing... imagine 20/30 cars on the same map plus the traffic of the city...
-
take the original setup file, open it with winrar. drop there your rarreg.key and then use "/S" switch
-
@kwpro, i'll give a try to 3.8 version but i think i'm going to stick to my bartpe build that has all the features i missed on knoppix i bookmarked this link some time ago, maybe some1 will find useful a list with knoppix variations... http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Main_Page
-
well i'm a fan of knoppix but it doesn't let you delete/change files from a ntfs partition. also till 3.7 there wasn't support for my sata drive and there wasn't support for my audigy2 card

Does Any One Successfully Install Bluetooth?
SiMoNsAyS replied to simon109s's topic in Windows 9x/ME
conceptronic bluetooth here. no problems running over win98se/2k/xp pro. software is the same than the one from msi, so both brands should do the job -
http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/hackedfiles/uxtheme.htm so you haven't read the guide yet? take a deeper look, it will be useful

Real+quicktime Alternate With Firefox?
SiMoNsAyS replied to Swimming_Bird's topic in Application Installs
it is supposed to, but if you search you can find an "unattended codec pack" that will add support for those formats among many other files -
@sven, no violence here man 99 is not copyrighted... yet... lol @rasken, posting your hacked files is illegal... ...but since people use them at his own risk is not pursued by m$ and so is not by other comunities. in fact share ANY file from the main windows OS is illegal but you know there are multiple sites with useful windows dlls and they aren't closed. so why MCT reported it?, re-read my post: ILLEGAL HACKED FULL version of w98se, key included. as said better to re-read everything again b4 posting
-
none, go for a 9600 (pro or non-pro) which is not expensive and it is a good quality/price gcard
-
@miketrnt3 & @azagahl, be sure at time of writting b/c maybe both "should keep your mouth shut", using your own words. i remember this post, MCT said that b/c there was a link to download an ILLEGAL HACKED FULL version of w98se codenamed "windows 99" (i think this answers azagahl post). if you take a closer look before reply, check pantapei's post and how it is edited by the administrator xper. didn't want to be rude but you both started flaming MCT without reading deeper and using phrases as "unless of course u'd likee to be roprted for sum bul***** yourself"
-
well i use HWPnP plugin for bartpe and it works perfect. everyprompt is automatically closed so drivers setup continues without problems
-
never used this software but as long as you said it uses installshield... maybe if dir is read-only then log can not be created so setup fails. make sure you used -f1 -f2 switches
-
i'm with Bâshrat, maybe market is (slowly) moving to broadband but my reason is because there is a high amount of modem brands and a high amount of models so cover not all but most of them will be rather than difficult also for example my dsl modem (thompson speedtouch) is imposible to install using the common .inf drivers method. setup needs to initialize and then add the propper entries (that really depends of your isp)
-
lazy?!... that's me! lol i know about bugmenot even it is one of my favorite extensions for firefox but it doesn't work on that site
-
w98 IS 32bit lol @webyourbusiness, sorry m8, i personally never used 98lite although i've heard a lot of people talking wonderful things about it. i'm an old school guy and i still preffer the manual way. there are pretty good tutorials on the net on how to shrink down w98, some links can be found on this forum
-
@MSNwar, sorry man, i wasn't sure which of them you wanted to mean with "the original button", so i took the easy way select 1 for the msfn button and 1 for the popup (maybe the same for both): then select animation style, i.e.: 2/4 of the animation shows "MSFN.org", 1/4 popup animation, 1/4 "Where people go to KNOW!" i think this way we can understand better @TheBlackMan, you're good at this dude

to change my comp, docs, network places and recycle bin icons use a .theme file. find a template on the net, and apply the theme using winnt.sif, you'll find interesting a recent post about use a "custom my docs icon", search for it. if you want to go further, like new icons for filetypes or drives, you better replace the icons stored on shell32.dll, then modifype+makecab. for 1 person this could be a lot of work and requires some advanced knowledges so you better search for a "shell pack".
