  1. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with this. I just did a fresh install and installed it and haven't had a single problem with WinKey+L, logging off, or anything as of yet. It's been a little more than a week that I reinstalled XP.

  3. By USB mouse, do you really mean USB keyboard? Have you enabled USB keyboard support in the BIOS?
  4. I've been working for my old high school for the past two weeks and finally got to install Vista (for the first time!) on one of the newer computers. I found the installation quite different from XP's, but I was quite surprised that it did not ask me for the product key during installation (is this an Enterprise thing?). It only asked for it while activating. My school has an Enterprise license, and the IT techs that I work with have no idea how many times the volume license key that they have can be activated before Microsoft refuses to activate any more copies. Does anyone have any idea if there is a limit? The head admin has gone on vacation so I have no other place but here to ask. We don't have a KMS for activation; it is done over the Internet.
  5. Correct. Like I said before, you need a second LNB and a second receiver.
  6. Please be sure to post in the correct forum next time. Also, welcome to MSFN. [ Moved. ]
  7. How splitter will work as i have the same channel in my receiver ? Your receiver is used for digital cable or satellite. You can't use a splitter on digital cable unless you have another receiver, and you can't use a the satellite receiver on two TVs for different channels; you need a second LNB and a second receiver for that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satellite_television#Technology
  8. I think you'd need another receiver for digital cable. If it was regular cable, then a splitter would do the trick.
  9. Do you have the Vista firewall enabled? Try playing around with its restrictions. Otherwise, it's probably the hotel's Internet or something I can't really think of right now.
  10. Do you notice a blue screen when it restarts? Could be any of the above but could also be a failing PSU. Have you tried swapping it with another one? You also might want to try resetting your CMOS. There's usually a small jumper right next to the CMOS battery on the motherboard that you can use to short two pins. Alternatively, you can also remove the CMOS battery for a good 15-30 minutes and then put it back in.
  11. Firefox 2 & Safari (non-beta on my Mac) for all browsing. IE 7 and FF (with IE extension) for Windows updates.
  12. Oh boy... Do yourself a favour and download the Mac OS 6.0.8 boot disks and try booting into it again. They're public domain. http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Suppo...m/System_6.0.x/ Edit: I forgot to mention that you need another Mac capable of making boot disks in order to use those image files.
  13. Just thought I'd mention this... I did a little research regarding that loud noise when you first turn on the computer ( I had the same problem ) and it seems that the fan might actually be dying. I'm not 100% sure about this, but every time I start my computer, I have the same problem. I think it might be my PSU fan.
  14. It always points towards the rear so it has more air to push against... I kind of need the back seats for people to sit in, lol.
  15. He's got two 12" 1200W subs only outputting 242.5W each... Sorry, Nick. You know I'm gonna keep bugging you about it! I abandoned my computer integration project a while back (including the laptop holder thing). 300W going through that 12" Alpine Type-R. Yeah, I know, not much, but it's still REALLY loud.
  16. I'd say this belongs in the Funny Farm... [ Moved. ]
  17. Nice LOLcats...
  18. Happy birthday, Jeremy!! :thumbup
  19. I can't find him in our member roster to view old activity/posts. Is that nick correct? xper deleted his user account(s). He goes by Kenny Pollock (his real name) on all boards now (including this one). He's matured.... A LOT. I still talk to him from time to time. Sorry I brought up his name... MOVING ON...
  20. My bad.
  21. Notice how I give credit to someone else for the template at the bottom of that page, as well as here, here, and here.
  22. I think this is the first post regarding an ancient Mac on this board. Did you stick in an old boot disk? (Maybe Mac OS 6.0.8 or something?)
  23. Firefox wasn't letting me.
