  1. I've still got 3 computers running Rosetta.
  2. Just curious, but are you on a gigabit connection? I've noticed that on a few machines I've worked with, it would take a while for them to get an IP after plugging them into a gigabit switch/router.
  3. It's fine. Original discs cannot be altered.
  4. Why stop at saying "I wish"? Why not make it an "I will try" and then work your way towards making that attempt a reality. You'll end up getting a lot farther than by simply saying "I wish I could do X". 1. It's almost like $50k/year (or at least it was in 2007). 2. You need to be pretty well-rounded. 3. I am pretty well-rounded, "tried" to get in for this year and received a nice rejection letter/e-mail saying there were only 1000 spots for 12000 applicants! You can always come up to Canada to go to UBC (where Zxian's attending) or the University of Waterloo (where I'm attending). In any case................. CONGRATS!
  5. Please do not post in more than one forum. Other topics have been removed.
  6. Not that I know of. The only way to do this would probably be to do any of the following: 1. Disconnect the second phone. 2. Get a second line and assign the second phone to use only that line. 3. Install a PBX system - probably not worth the the money, especially with only two phones. However, you can probably try using something like Asterisk. http://www.asterisk.org/
  7. What you probably want to do is create a WAN (wide area network). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wide_area_network Not quite sure how to set it up as I've never had to do so, but I'd second that suggestion for using Hamachi or any other VPN software (OpenVPN) as they're fairly easy to setup (especially Hamachi).
  8. My main desktop used to get them every few days. I then realized it had to do with malfunctioning USB ports; I disabled those and the BSODs disappeared!

Closed. If you're going to post on this forum, stick to it. Don't go and post somewhere else when you don't get an immediate answer. People eventually reply.
  10. If only my university allowed downloading Vista from MSDN-AA like they do for XP... I have to go pickup the CDs/DVDs, but I'm nowhere near school right now. Oh well...
  11. That's classified information!

maly1, please keep your language at a mature level when posting on the forum. Some people may find it offensive and most probably inappropriate.
  13. I'm surprised vlite.net didn't slow down!
  14. Ouch, GX270? You might want to verify that you don't have any blown capacitors on your motherboard. Most of the GX270s released were plagued by bad caps, including all of the ones my father's business had. If you do in fact have blown or swollen capacitors on your motherboard, Dell should be able to replace your motherboard free of charge (even if your computer is no longer covered under a warranty). Just thought you should look into it!
  15. I've got a bunch of old USB flash drives ranging from as low as 32MB to as high as 1GB; anything above that I use for carrying around data and fixing people's computers. I want to put them to use, but really can't come up with anything creative. Don't feel like putting Linux on them since I can easily install a virtual machine for that, and don't really want to create a USB flash drive array as 1. it's not practical, and 2. what's the point? Anyways, I want to be able to use them. How? No idea. Come up with something and post it! You never know, it might even benefit a few others on the forum!
  16. False-positive like before: http://www.msfn.org/board/Virus-t108786.html http://www.msfn.org/board/Virus-t79906.html http://www.msfn.org/board/nlite-14beta-virus-t99754.html [ Closed. ]
  17. Where I am right now...
  18. LOL - Sorry jcarle, but if it's anytime soon, I'll have to decline as I already have a full-time job for the next few months until my next semester. Although... I could work nights!
  19. It's Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.1) running on my 15" MacBook Pro. Don't worry, I still use XP under Parallels. @ tain: No amphetamines needed!
  20. That's with QWERTY.
  21. Hamachi and LogMeIn Free both bypass the need for port forwarding. The routing is all done automatically and bypasses any firewalls that may be in the way as well.
  22. Not as secure (at least the old version isn't). LogMeIn gives you 256-bit security, both the remote desktop feature and Hamachi.
  23. What do you mean by "remote access?" LogMeIn Free works just fine for remote desktop, if that's what you want. Pretty well actually. If you want direct network access, then I suggest using LogMeIn Hamachi (again, free) to setup a VPN.
  24. Wow, like I said, that would've come in real handy during my last semester. We were told to either use Notepad++ and the command line compiler or Visual Studio (provided to us by MSDN-AA). I ended up using Notepad++.
  25. Holy crap, you can do that!? This would have saved me so much time during my last semester...
