  1. Just curious... What are you using Windows 3.11 for?
  2. I use Administrator because I'm careful about what I do. When I need to test something, I use a separate machine (or VPC/VMWare) and see how it works out there.
  3. If you have a spare computer lying around, test it out on that for a few days (or use a virtual PC) and see if there are any issues. The only problem I see with this setup is that Office 2007 might overwrite a bunch of system-related files that aren't compatible with the older versions.
  4. You do realize there's an edit button? BTW, I got rid of your other thread. Let's keep all of this software in one thread so it's easier to find.
  5. Just don't start spamming to get more lucky stars.
  6. Thats a big NEG on both... this system wasn't built with nLite.... and has no spaces in the username(s). What are you thinking the issue could be? ~Dave Could be a corrupted password file. The reason I asked the first question is because back in the day of XP 2600, I had several issues with usernames with spaces in them on a family computer. I would login to the computer using remote desktop and it would refuse to log me in and that somehow managed to corrupt the SAM file. No, it wasn't a virus. To make a long story short, I've never used usernames with spaces in then since then.
  7. What first came to mind was a Greasemonkey script, but that only modifies the page locally.
  8. It's alright. Can't complain about it. However, since all the computers I usually work on all have Word (or some other word processor) installed, I usually stick with what's more easily accessible instead of accessing Google Docs. The computers I use all have Office 2003/2004 (Mac). My dad's company is still using Office XP. Unless something goes terribly wrong with either version, I won't be switching anytime soon.
  9. I've seen this problem before... Two questions... 1. Do any of the users experiencing this problem have a username with a space in it? (example: John Doe instead of just John or john) 2. Did you use nLite before installing this particular build of Windows?
  10. My dad's laptop is part of a domain and he can login just fine from home. Since Windows caches your profile and settings once you've logged into the domain the first time (like nitroshift mentioned), you shouldn't have a problem logging in. However, you won't be able to access any network files unless (like a few people have already mentioned) you connect to your network through a VPN.
  11. Have you heard of nLite? Have you tried using Gosh's Method? This might also be of some use.
  12. PHP's not that advanced. It's pretty similar, actually. It really isn't that hard to learn either. @emadhamdy2002: Sites that force you into clicking ads usually go against the advertising site's terms of services. Also... They're EXTREMELY annoying.
  13. I bet you $5 that most of us know about it. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=Search
  14. Aha... jcarle's right. Get the facts straight. I've been taking chemistry for the last three years and even I have a proper explanation as to why this can't be done. As a matter of fact, I was discussing it with my chem teacher just the other day. Ever heard of redox reactions? They are pretty much the reason why batteries work. http://www.science.uwaterloo.ca/~cchieh/ca...23/battery.html When a rechargeable battery is recharged (usually) before it is completely drained, there is a chemical reaction within the battery that produces another chemical substance. Over time, all batteries (rechargeable or not) accumulate this chemical substance, leaving a limited amount of the actual stuff that causes ions to flow within the battery. Eventually, when all of it is used up, ions can no longer flow, leaving the battery at an equilibrium where it is considered to be "dead." There is no (as for as I know) household way of reversing the chemical reaction into producing the chemicals that actually charge the battery and keep the battery charged.
  15. So you removed that from your MSN display name and posted it here? Good job, Nick! You just couldn't resist...
  16. Like Zxian mentioned, you have to edit the path to your font. It should usually be something like /home/username/public_html/sig/font.ttf. If that doesn't work, just try putting in the name of the font file (font.ttf). It should go somewhere before you start parsing the text (before the ImageTTFText lines). Yes, it's installed! No problem.
  17. Have you cleared your cache and/or cookies? It usually does the trick... I can login fine in Firefox.
  18. If I were in this situation, I would remove all the permissions that could be removed and then take ownership of the root folder and possibly the other folders as well (if needed).
  19. Thanks for that info, I've wondered about the gold bar longtimes, but if it's an XP thing what's it doing on my Win98SE - IE6 and FireFox, actually? It's not an XP thing. It's browser-specific. IE6 and Firefox both have the bar.So why have I never seen it on IE? It's possible that you have you security settings set to the very minimum.
