  2. You're not alone. I did it a few years ago - but I was in a rush, and wasn't really paying attention...
  3. Do as Idontwantspam said. If everything looks normal, rather, if everything looks opposite to what Idontwantspam described above, then your USB ports might have somehow fried themselves (short circuited - it happened to me). In either case, try uninstalling the USB devices, disabling/re-enabling them in the BIOS, etc. If that doesn't work, you'll need to get yourself a PCI USB 2.0 card.
  4. No problems here with FF2 or IE7. Tried clearing your cache?
  5. http://dban.sourceforge.net/ Make sure to do several passes if you're that paranoid. Usually, 2-3 will do the trick.
  6. Like beats mentioned, UBCD contains tools to repair Windows, not completely re-install it. In order to re-install it, you will need an original Windows XP CD (maybe it came with your computer). Also, please refrain from using CAPITAL LETTERS in your entire post; it makes others think that you are shouting. I have modified the letter case in your post for you.
  7. Not the stupidest thing I've done, but... I have been using a computer (that I bought off of craigslist) in my dorm room as a server. I rearranged some of the components to fit my needs and all was well... Well, at least until the computer started to randomly shut off whenever I touched it or nudged or pretty much did anything to it. It took me about two months to realize that the hard drive was pinching the two wires connected to the power button. Oops... After I moved the drive, everything worked fine.
  8. Sorry, but we do not and will not support the installation of OS X on unofficial Apple hardware, since the version of OS X used is considered to be warez. [ Closed. ]
  9. Even though I've only visited the forum a few times in the last week, everything seems to be normal as of right now.
  10. I could honestly only see that laptop being targeted at gamers and video/photo editing pros. Apart from them, who in their right mind would buy a quad-core laptop? I sure wouldn't. If I were a gamer, I would more likely put together a quad-core desktop for gaming, not buy a laptop.
  11. d1ck, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm in residence as well and I have a few people connected to my wireless connection and have enabled QoS and MAC filtering and all that in my WRT54GL router. Great piece of hardware, along with the Tomato firmware.
  12. Search? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=86450
  13. Have you tried to reset his local profile?
  14. I want my $1.25 but I live in Canada.
  15. If Firefox is, in fact, the problem, have you tried booting into Safe Mode, uninstalling it, and trying out your computer once more?
  16. w00t w00t w00t!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOSS!
  17. Happy late birthday, buddy!
  18. I doubt you'd be able to get rid of those menu items by applying a registry tweak. The entries would most likely be found in explorer.exe, which you would have to modify using Resource Hacker.
  19. I don't mind you beating me... The computers that gained all of my credit were ones at my summer job. I had to uninstall BOINC before I left.
  20. Yes, but it might not work 100% and I believe it goes against the EULA.
  21. LOL, I see it too... WTF??
