  1. doesn't take that long here disable av, disable defender real-time scanning buy a faster hd
  2. works fine i always use dvdrw's for nlite / vlite i tend to make the iso, then use imgburn to do the burning/erasing, the xlite inbuilt burner dll doesn't like all media.. imgburn will prompt you to quick erase before it burns -takes about 30-60 seconds
  3. yup virtualpc vmware virtualbox all of them will work with any os i recommend virtualbox, it's by far the fastest one

  7. would be decent if MS allowed you to 'skip forever' on updates to that
  8. vista blows if you don't have 2 cores and 4gb ram
  9. get a cheap 2nd hard drive, remove 1st drive, install on that only way to REALLY test
  10. my 'lol' was because this guy seems to think MS are committing some sort of terrible crime, get over yourself
  11. sorry, please delete.. http://www.msfn.org/board/nLite-d-source-t...l&hl=bartpe
  12. Will save me a bit of time if it's a "no you can't" Been using nlite for years
  13. lol
  14. this isn't what nlite is for
  15. What's the best way of using the driver packs to make a dvd with tons of drivers on it. Extract all the driver packs (manually using 7zip) to a folder -say "drivers" then burning that to dvd? will device manager be able to search it properly? or would I need to run the base program first? I don't want to use the blunt force installer, because I don't want to add drivers that won't be needed to the pc's it's used on.. Thanks. basically end result i want a dvd that device manager will search through to find a driver for that device. (ie, not a windows disc with drivers, just a dvd with drivers on it)
  16. just buy an icybox (the 390 model is awesome, has usb2 and esata), and buy a samsung hard drive for it £120 ($240 ish) for 1000gb in an icybox in the uk
  17. i'd use firefox and get the wmp plugin for firefox

    XPero's utilities

Xpero, any chance of submitting the Image resizer tool to the Paint.net team? You've done an awesome job on it, but they could add all sorts of optimisations and tweaks to it (as I'm sure you could)
  19. no it doesn't, 7zip is far better, and it's faster at extracting why the hell was this thread brought back up again, it's from 2003 for god's sake
  20. even with 64 sp1?
  21. i was under the impression that it shouldn't be a problem with sp1 what motherboard & ram do you have? might not have enough volts lots of ocz ram is rated 2.1-2.2v (where 1.8 is usually the default in the bios)
  22. is anyone able to host the 64bit sp1 file
  23. stupid ms, clever nuhi I had read about it briefly on the net, but since so many people use nlite to slipstream now, figured I'd as
  24. can you just clear up one thing for me nuhi, was the slipstreaming in vista an nlite only issue? ie, if i slipstreamed manually in vista (xp sp3 into xp gold) it should be fine yes?
  25. can you just make folders with the date in instead? this is what i'd do.. for this example "D:\files" is the source folder and "E:\files" is desination set CURRDATE=%DATE:/=-% md "E:\files\%currdate%" xcopy /e /h /y D:\files\*.* "E:\files\%currdate%\" that would create e:\Files\07-05-2008\ or similar..
