  1. use winrar or 7zip to extract the zip or exe file that you have (if it supports it) extract to say C:\drivers copy your xpdisc to say C:\xpcd load nlite, point it at c:\xpcd, integrate SP2 if you don't have it on there already (google "xp sp2 redist" for the full installer) select driver integration, point it at the c:\drivers folder then use the iso page to burn a new disc
  2. have you guys copied the disc to your pc? for example, copy files to C:\XPCD first, then scan that with nlite what specs do you guys have?

    help

removing search doesn't remove the function to search, it just removes indexing indexing scans your pc when it's not in use (its supposed to do it when it's not in use!) then keeps a record of where files are, then when you do a search it opens the record file, so it can quickly find where the files are ^that's what it's designed for anyway, personally i disable it, as i never search my whole pc, i just search within subfolders or just manually browse
  8. in vlite, click 'about' what version does it say?
  9. do you have that tweak? lol
  10. remove what you've typed about a pirated copy of windows btw.. depends how fussy you are in terms of how much ram you think you need i hate using xp with less than 1gb, just isn't fast enough -in vlite, tweaks section, system, memory requirement
  11. you're not using the new version then, download 0.95b
  12. its the way vista was built, not vlite's fault lol vlite removes LOADS from the iso, with vlite vista is very usable with 512mb, without vlite its far worse xp isn't that great with 256, its ok as a fileserver, but it needs 512 (realistically) to perform well -as a desktop machine
  13. the new vlite allows you to install it with 256 mb (since yours is shared, you get less) vista is really bad on 256 anyway
  14. yeah, but his total ram would show as 240mb, as the video card takes 16
  15. vista would run really badly on that, just use xp instead or get some more ram 512 is a minimum really, anything below that and it's slow (even after vliting)
  16. how much ram do you have? maybe it's being shared with graphics card?
  17. there is no master/slave with sata its master only
  18. yeah i thought that too, its not rocket science -edit, that Top Gear episode was fantominal!

    start, run, regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
  20. only a small number of sata drivers are included with SP2 (i think mainly intel ones), you may well have to integrate the sata driver with nlite (or use floppy as you said) what motherboard (and sata chipset) is he using?
