bledd
how much ram do you have?maybe it's being shared with graphics card?
guestxx
i have 256mb and 16mb of them are shared with the VC, yes
bledd
vista would run really badly on that, just use xp instead or get some more ram512 is a minimum really, anything below that and it's slow (even after vliting)
guestxx
I am interested in removing the minimal ram requirement, as soon as i am done with this i'am ok Edited March 19, 2007 by guestxx

bledd
yeah, but his total ram would show as 240mb, as the video card takes
guestxx
the changes log says new: Setup memory requirement tweak (32bit) so it meens that there should be no mem tweak inside vlite. I know about nomem.exe but i want a clean new install, and that's why i have waited 2 weeks for this version to come, and i don't think of giving up, so at the very beginning
bledd
the new vlite allows you to install it with 256 mb (since yours is shared, you get less)vista is really bad on 256 anyway

bledd
its the way vista was built, not vlite's fault lolvlite removes LOADS from the iso, with vlite vista is very usable with 512mb, without vlite its far worsexp isn't that great with 256, its ok as a fileserver, but it needs 512 (realistically) to perform well -as a desktop machine Edited March 19, 2007 by bledd
guestxx
The Xp is easy ... just search for version made by amit talkin 2005. He named it "Windows XP Service Pack3 build2" I'am using it for year and a half till now - no problems. Install it on a couple of friends's pc - also no problem at all. And it is a lot faster than the original thing Edited March 19, 2007 by guestxx
nuhi
guestxx, don't you see that tweak can be set to 256 or Default. If you actually have 240 discussion is over.Setup won't warn you that you have less, it will just fail.
guestxx
I don't have anything in the tweaks section to make me choose between 256 and default
