March 18, 200719 yr I am having some problems with the background of my computer. Me or someone else must have accidently clicked something and now I have blue squares around the letters on the desktop. As you can see on the picture above, there are dark blue squares around everything. Is it possible to remove it, because it ruins my wallpapers?
March 18, 200719 yr Right click on My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Select "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop". Click OK.
March 18, 200719 yr We're not mind readers here, let us know what exactly you have tried and we will be less likely to repeat those particular steps. In addition to that which was previously mentioned:Display Properties » Desktop » Customize Desktop » WebMake sure the Lock desktop items is unchecked!

March 19, 200719 yr Funny, I've had this exact same problem before. I went completely nuts because I tried everything that everyone here has mentioned, and nothing seemed to work. The bad news...I never did fix it! I eventually had to wipe the disk and rebuild the OS (for a different reason), so that of course did solve the problem--but I've definately seen this happen before with no explanation.
