  1. Find another site to complain about each other and what countries software comes from. MSFN is not the place to do it.

  4. Obviously we don’t wish to discuss the off topic matters, Obviously you don’t wish to discuss the Iranian AV suggested in another topic, why not? Or North Korean, maybe? Why such fixation on Russia/Russian?

  5. We can't be sure of that due to the fact you seem to not understand the topic's title written in plain and simple English which is not about "independent" labs, it's about the Kaspersky ban. Yet you shove down our throats the software from a country that has no freedom of speech and is a total surveillance state, the software that is made by the Russian paramilitaries.

  6. In latest Serpent 52, I didn't have to toggle that pref to enable successful loading+rendering of either https://www.elektroda.pl/ (Polish version) or https://www.elektroda.com/ (English version); creating SSUAOs for both domains, impersonating the latest FxESR, did the trick for me : general.useragent.override.elektroda.pl;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:115.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0 general.useragent.override.elektroda.com;Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:115.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0 Seems like another case of their UA-sniffing scripts rejecting "unfamiliar" slices ... Best greetings !

  7. "You are the company you keep." https://quoteinvestigator.com/2020/04/04/company-keep/ Another way to say that, especially here at MSFN, is we all know "who is who" by their meaningless "likes". I didn't read the post as a "personal attack", but more of "one school of thought" against "another school of thought" (our "likes" define who we are!) GANG WARS. Do we know if new members can register? I don't recall seeing a mod chime in on that one. But the more I think about it, the more I can't help but think that if these GANG WARS persist, then MSFN is "weighing its options" on whether "to be, or not to be".

  8. I'm the pillar of politeness. What you wrote is a lie and an insult, I never attacked you. If you still want to imply this, link to the post, and since there will be none, you need to apologise for your offensive behaviour and personal attacks. And keep my name out of conversations I didn't even take part.

  19. That remark is typical for any and all of your MSFN accounts. Your paranoid mind can “easily assume” whatever. What I actually told you was that I now live in “Florida,” which is a large state with several cities of various sizes. I haven’t met any Russians yet. If I ever do, what government agency should I report them to? Like I was saying before Attack of the Clones, you can drink all the vodka you want without worrying about subsidizing Putin because no brand (not even Stoli) actually comes from Russia! And if those who are still using Windows XP or Vista believe they can help to defeat Putin by using inferior antivirus software (or no antivirus software at all), then I wish you the best of luck! 🥃

  20. I can understand your neutral position and share your doubts about the future of MSFN, but if I am part of a “gang,” then I sometimes wonder where the rest of my gang is. The only “gang” I see consists of one Vista- using Kaspersky-hater with multiple accounts in cooperation with one elderly XP user who is quite intelligent but whose judgment is questionable. If that’s all it takes to drive long-time members away from MSFN, then perhaps it is time to pull the plug.

  21. Let’s see: There was a thread in the Windows 7 forum that “you” posted in only for the purpose of making an ad hominem attack against me: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184942-any-free-antivirus-for-win7-in-2023/?do=findComment&comment=1250354 You were of course correct that I never used Kaspersky, but it was an ad hominem attack nevertheless. What you failed to notice was that the OP of that topic was a Kaspersky user in Poland who posted to ask a question about free antivirus software for Windows 7, and was perhaps unaware that Kaspersky has a free version. You did not post to suggest an alternative, but I had already mentioned a few alternatives (and had already mentioned that I never used Kaspersky and could not tell him the procedure for downgrading). The OP was perhaps more irritated by your post than I was, and gave you a rebuttal that moderators subsequently deleted. Of course “you” were already on my Ignored Users list before that because “you” are just another account of the Vista-using Kaspersky-hater who resides somewhere in Europe.

  24. The 1st reason D.Draker has remained silent because he's busy with his life, making money, staying fit and healthy, real-time helping the world to be cleansed of filth. In other words, everything that a normal man would want to do with his life. I wonder why you not? But don't doubt, D.Draker's like a higher power up from the above - he sees everything. You've claimed to live in Miami. So, is it a complete boredom, so you the only thing that is left for you is to constantly praise Russia? Be on your guard, one can easily assume you live in a Siberian basement, not Miami. The 2nd reason D.Draker has remained silent because he is not interested in any further attempts to explain to you that Russia simply has no independent civilian software. It's all under military umbrella, including Kaspersky. Oh, and I'm touched you're worried about my warnings!

  30. TBH, it was a long time ago when I corrected this issue. It may well be that I had also corrected entries in the colors.dtd file at that time. And the issue is related to the Colors dialogue, of course. But I definitely know (I had briefly checked before replying) that I added for example the entities I already mentioned in the content.dtd file. But maybe that wasn't the cause of the Colors problem, but of a previous problem. I compare and correct, but I don't document every single step. In any case, the most important thing is that all errors are found, and the language pack works again. And now, you at least know where to look. Anyway! I'm glad you were able to correct the Dutch language pack.
    1 point
  31. Under browser\chrome\de\locale\browser\preferences\, for example, new entities were added to the file content.dtd starting from line 33 jsOptions.label, jsOptionsWasm.label, jsOptionsWasm.accesskey. The best is to compare this file with the original English one, and you will see all the entities to be added, removed or changed.

  37. how many W7+ users do have interest on a browser with very limited number of extensions ? Especially Serpent (a fork from Basilisk) supports a huge number of extensions. This browser is compatible with both types, legacy XUL extensions and webextensions. And generally, XUL extensions are much less restricted in browsers than webextensions. TBH, leagacy XUL extensions are actually not restricted at all. And they can easily be modified. Therefore, I prefer them.

  38. Mypal 68 is a browser developed by @feodor2 and his own projct. I think you've got something mixed up there.

  39. I use Mypal 68 in single-process mode from the first beta 68.12.0b in April of 2022 until the current third pre-release 68.13.0b. I never had a browser crash nor a BSOD. This browser is totally stable in this mode although it is still in development. @feodor2 is doing a great job. Providing a JavaSript engine version 78 in the form of a Firefox derivative for Windows XP is just great and incredible. About the stability of Mypal 68 in multiprocess mode, I can't say anything. I did and do not use it in this mode. According to some reports in the issues on GitHub, there seemed to have been stability problems in multiprocess mode.

  40. Just for clarification, I am primarily interested in confirmation or the opposite that this error also occurs with others or not, under POSReady updates installed and if possible on a real Windows XP machine as I use it, for reasons of comparison. If you already use Glary Utilities (5.203.0.232) under Windows XP SP3 POSready, you do not need to install Glarysoft's Quick Startup. You just have to open its embedded Startup Manager. However, if this error does not occur with others, I would have a much bigger problem. But I cannot imagine that, and I do not hope so, of course. Therefore please, provide information about your experiences! The more, the better! Thanks in advance!

  41. I actually created this thread because I have a problem with Glarysoft's Quick Startup. I deliberately kept the title of this thread a bit more general so that any software recommendations or problems with Startup Managers can be posted here in the future. Now to my problem. I have two Windows XP system partitions, both with the operating system Windows XP Professional SP3 with all existing updates installed. All POSReady updates were also installed on one partition, but not on the other. In both partitions, Glarysoft's Quick Startup has been installed. Unfortunately, I have now an issue with Quick Startup in the partition with all POSReady updates. Although this issue is a minor one, maybe one of you can confirm this strange behaviour or help me to solve it. In the main program window, Quick Startup is not able to separate the application services from the Windows sevices. All of them are listed under the column application services. In the partition without POSReady updates, Quick Startup does not produce this issue. Application and Windows services are separated correctly. Here are two screenshot to demonstrate this issue: First, a screenshot of Glary Utilities' embedded Startup Manager without this issue taken from the partition without POSReady updates: And here is a screenshot of Quick Startup with this issue taken from the partition with all POSReady updates: I already tried a lot to solve this misbehaviour. TBH, I assume that this issue has anything to do with the POSReady updates. Any confirmation and of course tips for solving this would be much appreciated! Kind regards, AstroSkipper PS: (Da ist der Wurm drin! Translated literally: There's the worm in it! - meaning: There’s something very wrong with it!)

  45. Thank you , but no . Why ? A very "big brother" country. Cameras on every square mm. Pro-commie tendencies are very high. Besides , too close to Russia. I think I don't have to explain ,esp. considering the latest news . (russian tanks moving towards Oekraïne (Ukrain), etc). "US StateDept places Ukraine on LEVEL 4: DO NOT TRAVEL due to high risk of Russian military offensive". Heard of it ? Now look at how close Poland and Ukraine. Bordering countries ! Even if Poland will stay out of it , there will be lots of refugees for sure , much more than from Belarus now ! Bordering countries ! Don't forget about Poland's history too . A military communist country , only some decades ago ! Also, I would advise against Prague , the "famous" KGB nest . If you ask me , I don't beleive people can change . Coming soon to the theatres near you ... If you have some money , get outta your communist country or even outta Europe . Heard Albania is somewhat quiet for now , but it may change any second ! I've got a friend who lived in Vietnam for almost 2 years, trying to escape this nonsense , what a fool ! He's from Hungary. Austrian father and Hungarian mother, it's a real hell out there , so he had to flee Vietnam and got back to Hungary... but there's masked hell out there too ... so he went to Albania , yes (who would've thought) ?!?. Spent quite a lot of money . I'm sure you understand how Vietnamese police works. I can't say for certain which country is safe now. It's starting to get on my nerves even here ! Some say Latin America is OK , I don't agree. I'd definitely say : avoid UK , AU , NZ , CA , US at all costs ! I won't write about obvious no-go countries such as Chino-Russia.
