Same for me, probably needs to make sure whether the portable flags are on. --disable-encryption --disable-machine-id some versions use --disable-encryption-win3 points

Dave, be on your guard with that "Thorium". Recently, there was a scandal with the author of "Thorium," something involving child abuse, and the files were inside that browser. The author had to acknowledge and came out with with a confession, all that after numerous attempts of denying it. I shan't post links, I don't want to get MSFN involved in that drama. And who knows what else is stuffed in that browser! All is easily googleable.3 points

The project (and all its associated files) was hosted on GitLab: Several hours ago, on Fri Apr 12th 2024, that repo was taken down (or made private by its owner ), because now any attempt to access above URL redirects to a "https://gitlab.com/users/sign_in" page (that is, after being submitted to CF-based challenge(s) ) ... I suspect one (or more) of the "affected services" has issued DMCA requests to GitLab, because the project, in the form of standalone Chromium and Firefox extensions, had met with similar fate in the past... FWIW, that filter list had an accompanying userscript: ... which also can't be updated any more ... The filter list was being served from: It and the userscript are now stuck for me at version 3.6.3.2 ... Best regards ...2 points

I have put for some time alredy network.trr.resolvers;[{ "name": "NextDNS", "url": "https://firefox.dns.nextdns.io/" }] And as I told do not trust third party, yes your providers may leak you data, but not sure, at least it is to make an effort to do, instead you seggest deliberately leak you data directly.2 points

Yeah, I don't know, Dave, must be something in the profile because I'm running it and I don't get that page "Can't open this page" .... so I wonder what extensions you are using that seem for you to work in Supermium 122 and 260 Chrome ... I hope we can get to the bottom of this.122 is better for me, but still on my system with 3GB of RAM and a Pentium D I can't go too far with it without running into slow browsing. I've had to learn to be very patient with it.2 points

1. Make sure you have the latest version of progwrp.dll (v1.1.0.1), the one that comes with v122 2. Looks like a pref/profile corruption to me ; something inside your previous (Sm121) profile doesn't go down well with v122 of the browser... You can always back-up your existing profile and attempt to launch Sm122 with a pristine new profile - if the fresh profile behaves normally (e.g. loads fine websites), then you'll be sure that what you're facing now isn't H/W related, but attributed to your migrated Sm profile from v121... 3. Launch your existing profile (migrated from Sm121) but, if possible, disable first ALL already installed extensions (implies you have access and control over "chrome://extensions/" ) - relaunch and check how it goes from there; if it was one of the extensions the culprit, then start enabling extensions one-by-one to find the one misbehaving in Sm122... 4. Provided you have access to "chrome://flags" in Sm122, click "Reset all" (top bar, right button) and relaunch; see how you fare... Imported bookmarks/history/saved account credentials shouldn't be affected by 3 or 4... NB: In the off-chance you have ProxHTTPSProxy configured system-wide, please disable it! Edit: 5. If you're launching Sm122 with custom cmdline flags (Windows shortcut to chrome.exe + various cmd flags), make sure you're not issuing any flag rendered incompatible with Sm122; 6. Revisit the v122 and v122-hf release notes, in case you come up with something else yourself ...2 points

First of all, I think it's right and good that someone other than myself is also working on the great and very important extension uBlock Origin Legacy and developing it further. Since nothing has happened for years, I see my efforts here in relation to uBlock Origin Legacy as a kind of initial spark to maintain this extension again and bring it up to date. Based on the way a well-known American moron speaks I would say: "Make uBlock Origin Legacy great again!" @UCyborg has started a promising project on GitHub. I already had a look at it. An indirect collaboration has already taken place, as he has used my internal list of all standard filter lists, i.e. the assets.json file, as the basis for his one. But I cannot and will not comment on direct collaboration at this point. In any case, I will continue to maintain my version here for a while. The next version is coming up very soon. This means that the user now has the option of choosing their preferred version. As I have already said between the lines, a wider range of products generally stimulates "business". Hello @Felipefpl! Do once again a clean install! That means you have to manually delete the file ublock0.sqlite inside your profile subfolder extension-data. But don't forget to backup your settings and rules first! BTW, I tested updating from version 1.16.4.33 to version 1.16.4.34 and didn't notice any problems when doing this with the alternative method.1 point

@Damnation Yes, it is a problem, how the harddisk is formatted. Use RMPrepUSB for this with settings ntldr, ntfs, force LBA Dietmar1 point

It appears that there might be some upstream code changes in the future for BNavigator and MailNews, as derived from an announcement on upstream's Binary Outcast website: A quote of the relevant portion on https://binaryoutcast.com/ :1 point

I've also now tried Thorium 122, and that works, albeit not using my Supermium profile. As far as I can see, it's superficially identical to Supermium as far as the GUI is concerned, just with 'Supermium' replaced with 'Thorium' in the text! Unless it's got worthwhile changes under the bonnet compared with Superium, I can see no compelling reason to use it instead of Superium. Now back with Superium 121. Can anyone report Superium 122 working for them on XP 32 bit?1 point

I'm in my 13th year of sobriety and this occurs to me all the time. I can guarantee myself though, through vivid memory that being drunk (for me) is much much worse. The demons inside that we hide come out when I drink.1 point

Off-topic, but I still use XP because I like it! I can always go over to Windows 10 on my machine if I need to do something which I can't do in XP. Now having Supermium means that I no longer have to reboot into 10 because I have a problem with a website in 360Chrome, which is good, and I still almost can't believe that a browser based on Chromium 112 will actually run at all on XP, despite its issues! I hope to be able to continue like that for as long as possible.1 point

No matter the topic title from way back whenever, no GeForce 8xxx or higher card has proper working drivers for Windows 9x. Just because someone added them "hopefully" to the INF file and created a thread about it does not magically produce positive results. Discussion of flashing one card to another is generally off-topic for this thread, but I don't think anyone would have a problem with it as long as it involved cards that were actually 9x compatible, In this case, both cards in question are incompatible, and therefore very much off-topic despite the initial discussion of them being well intentioned and likely arising from not knowing they were incompatible in the first place. Enough of this.1 point

Think I'm just going to bed early tonight. Can't cope any further. I'll likely meditate for 15 minutes and enjoy a decaf coffee and reflect upon that good things that have occurred and be thankful I am not homeless and I have enough money to purchase diet coke every day. Yet, money is not the cause of my pain oddly enough. Good night.1 point

Actually, the About: Menu custom button should work in Serpent 52, too. When I am back at my desktop computer, I will have a look at this. In New Moon 28, however, I can definitely confirm that this custom button works as it should. Generally, most custom buttons tested by me should work in both browsers. But, of course, we all know the proof is in the pudding. I have just tested it and have unfortunately to confirm your observation. Although there is the compatibility string of Firefox {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} inside the code of the About: Menu custom button, the menu of all about: pages does not open in Serpent 52. The button was created many years ago, though. Therefore, it definitely was developed for much older Firefox versions (< 52). That's presumably why it is still working in New Moon 28. But there are still alternatives in the form of extensions for Serpent 52 which can be tested. I will have a look at that later.1 point

As I already explained, I try to use as few extensions as possible, as they have a greater impact on memory and tend to cause compatibility problems. If features can be retrofitted by custom buttons, I use them instead of extensions. But I have to admit that I still install far too many extensions, but of course I also use them. As everyone knows by now, I'm also a big fan of extensions. The About: Menu custom button was created by the well-known developer LouCypher long ago. I just modded it a bit as described in my article.1 point

If I post custom buttons here, regardless of whether they were created by me or by someone else, or in some cases, modded or fixed by me, then this results in a clear advantage for the user. These custom buttons have definitely been tested by me and are compatible with the Custom Buttons extension and @roytam1's UXP browsers. And most probably compatible with Basilisk and Pale Moon, too. Isn't that a great service?1 point

Creating this thread was complex and very time-consuming. Right from the start, I paid attention to a good and clear structure. In the first three posts of this thread, I made a clear differentiation between extensions and custom buttons: Introductory post: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/?do=findComment&comment=1226243 Extensions: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/?do=findComment&comment=1226244 Custom buttons and other articles: https://msfn.org/board/topic/183923-extensions-and-custom-buttons-for-uxp-browsers-corrections-modifications-adjustments-and-special-recommendations/?do=findComment&comment=1226245 All listed entries there have been linked to their corresponding posts. Thus, all is easy to find. In my opinion, that will have to suffice. BTW, such kind of structure is rather rare to find here in this or other forums (actually fora), if I may say so. But thanks for your opinion!1 point

I agree, because Start11 wasn't affected. Start11 has a fully reimplemented taskbar. SAB will likely have the same as Tihiy already reimplemented the systray. It's the only way to not play a cat and mouse game with MS, patching the Win 11 taskbar isn't sustainable as it will contently break any time a change is made which frequently happens in the beta channel. Based on my understanding reimplementation is the only solution. We've known this was going to be an issue for a while so hopefully a beta will be ready before 24H2 is released.1 point

I'd like to have separated download for this instead. https://o.rths.ml/palemoon/palemoon-portable-loader.7z Extract all contents (both EXE and TXT) in the place where palemoon.exe lives. Run portable-loader.exe for portable mode. portable-loader.exe is scriptable loader(loading same-named TXT script) written in NSIS. Source is avaiable here: https://o.rths.ml/svn/filedetails.php?repname=rtoss&path=%2Fnsis+script+runner%2Fshellrunner.nsi1 point

I think `mach package`will do? and for chrome/IE on XP can't access HTTPS version of build storage site, it is nothing to do with TLS 1.2, but due to lack of SNI support in schannel.dll. You can always use non-HTTPS version of links since it is CloudFlare-fronted site.1 point

From https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal/issues/3#issuecomment-333623428 , Feodor2 said that newer ffmpeg patch for PMXP will need compiling ffmpeg/lbav libraries by builders for bundling. And I think I don't want to compile ffmpeg/libav libaries (for the laziness) and keep my modified patch using LAV filters' ffmpeg libraries in portable way in my later builds.1 point
