  1. Look at my account, I have 2 tutorials, but it's only for Vista and nVidia, not AMD, so it's unfortunately off-topic here.

  2. This code is held secret by the companies nVIDIA and AMD, anyone can try to find the papers on them without any results,

  3. I said I ported them, not wrote. And all of that because of the code leftovers. But as of now, even Windows 7 is dropped for several years, what you see today in the form of Windows 7 releases, they are just "security" driver updates based on old drivers from the year 2020 or so.

  4. As already reported multiple times by different members, I am also not able to insert specific links into posts for months. If I want to insert any link to a MSFN post, I have to display it as a normal link every time, otherwise an error message pops up. It is also not possible to insert other special links such as a harmless custom button link in the code area of the editor. What is actually going on here? In any case, this makes it almost impossible to post more complex content with the MSFN forum editor. And this editor is definitely broken for whatever reasons and hasn't already been fun for a long time. To speak plainly, I am not a fan of such restrictions introduced for whatever reasons. And if an editor offers a certain feature like a link in a preview box, then it should also work. At least, this feature used to work in the past. In any case, I'm not a fan of "improvement for the worse", which seems to be the norm these days. There is a nice saying from the beginnings of the home computer era that still carries a lot of wisdom even in these days: AstroSkipper

  5. That's your right and ultimately a matter of personal taste. But that doesn't change the fact that a feature that used to work and is still offered no longer works. Aside from that, the MSFN forum editor has many other quirks and dysfunctions. The rudimentary BBCode implementation is also worth mentioning.

  6. Confirmed! The MSFN forum editor hasn't been working properly for months especially when it comes to inserting of certain links. Here is my report: https://msfn.org/board/topic/186048-msfn-forum-editor-inserting-of-certain-links-impossible/

  7. People need to realise - no porting will happen, just stock up on old hardware while you can. Next year it will be 11 years since they fully dropped Windows XP support. And still no ported/modded drivers exist.

  8. I can take a wild guess - the OS is XP, I fail to understand why not just leave it be, that member had been explained many times - there's no such thing as "DirectX10 on XP". Win32 wrote on github - everything in Supermium falls back to DirectX9 while on XP.

  9. I wonder would that fact include telemetry, calling home to the developer. Or a timebomb of some kind, even if not now, but maybe later? Stock up on it while you can.

  10. Obviously it would require a newer version of Windows because the minimum supported client for that function is Windows Vista. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/processthreadsapi/nf-processthreadsapi-initializeprocthreadattributelist

  11. You can post them here for interest of course, but they really need to go directly to the developers on github.

  12. I can't observe this problem in the most recent version of New Moon 28.10.7a1 (32-bit) (2024-02-23) with Palefill 1.28 enabled. This site seems to work. Here is a screenshot: Cheers, AstroSkipper Same applies to the most recent version of Serpent 52 with Palefill 1.28 enabled. No problems here as you can see in this screenshot: Cheers, AstroSkipper

  14. (redacted) InitializeProcThreadAttributeList requires Vista SP2 as "minimum supported client" ... This crashpad crash under Windows XP has been fixed, for now in source code, only: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/commit/08170feefcfbcd750b377d4c11a4efc67279ed9e No binary fix available yet; the next "hotfix" release should incorporate it, hopefully ..

  15. No, I meant the code inside the divers, not the OS, I think I wrote about it pretty clear, no?

  17. Moderator Edit: The download for the latest (1.6) version of Heinoganda's root certificates and revoked certificates update utility is here - https://www.mediafire.com/file/pflkq12ik8tlx5w/jveWB2Qg1Lt9yT5m3CYpZ8b8N4rH.rar/file The archive password is: S4QH5TIefi7m9n1XLyTIZ3V5hSv4se1XB6jJZpH5TfB6vkJ8hfRxU7DWB2p Note that the utility will also work on Windows Vista, but will have to be run as an administrator. I hereby would like to offer a way to keep the roots certificates and the revoked certificates up to date. For the security of Windows XP after the last condition no official patches more for blocking div. Roots certificates and certificate update available. For revoked Certificate Update "rvkroots.exe" Microsoft download (http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=41542), unzip to a folder (e.g. with WinRAR). In "rvkroots.inf" the entry in the string VERSION should be changed to "5,0,2195,0" and the VER entry changed to "005". The next step is download the "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/disallowedcert.sst" and paste the unzipped folder and replace older file. Then with e.g. (Create Self-Extracting Archive) WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment: TempMode Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rvkroots.inf,DefaultInstall pack and you have a current update for blocking unsafe Certificates! For Root Certificate Update "rootsupd.exe" Microsoft download (http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe), unzip to a folder (eg with WinRAR), in "rootsupd.inf" entry in the string VERSION should "40,0,2195,0" loud and in VER "040" , In the next step, "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authroots.sst" "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/delroots.sst" "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/roots.sst" "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/updroots.sst" download and paste the unzipped folder and replace older files. Then with e.g. (Create Self-Extracting Archive) WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment: TempMode Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rootsupd.inf,DefaultInstall pack and you have a current root certificate update! For all languages! If you do approximately every 3 months. To re-update extends the generated SFX files to open with WinRAR and drag to the archives newer downloads (.sst files) by drag and drop into it.

  19. Some plugins do not work properly with multi-process mode, it was already discussed in the past and it is an Old Firefox bug that would be very hard to fix. Because PaleMoon and Basilisk are not to be used in multi-process mode the Issue can only manifest itself on Serpent. You will need to disable multi-process mde if you want to use palefill or to disable palefill.

  23. Given that the current Google Chrome "stable" release is at v122.0 as I type this, it comes as no real surprise that sites are starting to "blacklist" our "legacy" Chromium browsers (360EEv13.x, KMB) via "User-Agent-Sniffin'", simply because they report a Chrome/86[/87] slice inside their default UA string... So far, they're not many , but this is expected to change in the future ... The most recent case I encountered is the one of "sciencedirect.com", after a Google Search result had pointed me to: https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/computer-science/protected-storage I was "greeted" by: I'd have expected a "science-related" site to have implemented truly scientific means (i.e. feature-detection) to check whether "my" browser is able to display it properly, but, hey, even "scientists" must have "sold their souls" to Google and company (a figure of speech, surely, but ...) ... At this point in time, I've opted for a SSUAO rather than a "global" one via the " --user-agent" cmdline flag ; several extensions offer this functionality, I've chosen Custom UserAgent String ; you need the older v0.2.1, the last on MV2 : At last, I was then able to be "scientifically" informed using 360EEv13 ...

  24. I explain with very simple words. There can't be "porting" or "modding" of existing drivers, be it AMD or Nvidia, XP code (along with the code that was bearing older cards gens) was simply removed. It's public knowledge, and this one of the reasons why you all don't see "backports".

  25. </pre><li> In code box? </li> <li> line Hmm. Definitely not what I entered.... Edit: And garbled upon edit. The inline editor has never been as good as the old full-featured editor that opened full-window.

  26. At least spammers there are far more funny and advertise quite useful goods - gulden printing hardware, in contrast to MSFN's lamers.

  28. Thanks, that's good to hear, although I will stick with 121 for the moment! I still can hardly believe that a browser with the latest Chromium version will actually work on XP. It's far from perfect, but the fact that it works at all amazes me!

  29. FYI, I uploaded again my custom button Restart & Purge but this time as an HTML file. The former download links unfortunately contained a backup file of this button which either couldn't be installed without additional editing or some characters were not transferred correctly. The problem has to do with the conversion of custom buttons into XML format, where the tool I had used did not work correctly. But now, it should be working. The new download link can be found in my original article. Please, re-download the HTML installation file if you have already downloaded one of the XML files and still interested in this custom button! Greetings, AstroSkipper PS: It is a little strange that nobody had reported this before, even though a few downloads had already been made.

  30. Well, since we don't have that problem, I'm starting to lean towards external (questionable?) third party content ban. As the last resort, can you try to login from another location, maybe? As an example, see, they can't add youtube URL to their post. https://msfn.org/board/topic/5150-what-are-you-listening-to/?do=findComment&comment=1259491

  31. My German language pack for New Moon 28 - Fixed - Part 1 For New Moon 28, I use the German language pack from here: https://github.com/JustOff/pale-moon-localization/releases/download/28.10.0_RC1/de.xpi which I modified and corrected myself a long time ago in terms of the dev tools. Here is a screenshot of the Web Developer menu (Web-Entwickler) of New Moon 28.10.6a1 (32-bit) (2023-01-19) with my fixed German language pack already installed: My modified language pack is fully working, and all has been translated. If you are German like me, or German is your native language, you are lucky and can use my already modified language pack file de-mod-content-dev.xpi. Here is the link: https://www.mediafire.com/file/99riihhfrxrju2k/de-mod-content-dev.xpi/file Cheers, AstroSkipper

  32. Why do you post a link to my thread about extensions and custom buttons for UXP browsers? @verta looks for a thread about installing extensions manually in Chrome browsers due to the topic of this thread. And he already got two correct answers above. The following equation with the Boolean truth value true applies: UXP browser ≠ Chrome browser

  33. Thanks for your appreciation! But unfortunately, others and me can't see it in my posts above ... If you don't understand what I wrote about the valuation of technical contents (which is a kind of support of authors), why don't you use an online translation service? For example, DeepL? The English I wrote was crystal clear. Anyway! The fact that I even have to mention this grievance in terms of valuation should actually not really be necessary ... By the way, a restart feature is trivial and easy to implement into my toggle button. I already did it, and the modified toggle button works perfectly.

  34. Yes. You can edit both strings manually from 38 to 40 all right. And. yes, once is enough. You don't need to change them again ever afterwards.
