Not really! If a developer of an extension had never supported and didn't want to support a certain software, it is therefore unfortunately not a problem of an extension developer. The request was done in terms of a legacy extension but the corresponding software does not support older legacy Windows operation systems such as Windows XP. None of this makes any sense to me. That's why I'm not interested. For Windows 7 and up, there are so much modern email clients available which fully satisfy all the needs of a user. Thus, no real need for another one. And isn't the developer of Epyrus this athenian200 who speaks so incredibly respectfully and kindly about us here: I wouldn't lift a finger for a disrespectful guy like that. Right!

Nope! Epyrus is a Thunderbird 52-based mail client that builds against UXP (official statement). The legacy extension uBlock Origin works in the email clients Thunderbird 52, Interlink and MailNews. If due all modifications made by the developer of Epyrus the compatibility has been broken, then this can't be the problem of the developer of uBlock Origin who I am not. BTW, forget about Epyrus! Neither the installer version nor the portable version is compatible with Windows XP. Thus, I am definitely out, and that's how the game works.

Hello @Fightingfalcon! I'm glad to hear that. I have never installed or used Epyrus. What are the system requirements? As far as I know, Epyrus is a Thunderbird 52-based mail client that builds against UXP. uBlock Origin Legacy is fully compatible with Thunderbird 52, Interlink and MailNews. If the developer of Epyrus made changes preventing uBlock Origin Legacy to run properly in Epyrus, then these changes have to be reverted by the Epyrus' developer and nobody else to restore compatibility. IMHO, it therefore doesn't seem to be a problem of uBlock Origin but a problem of Epyrus. If the Epyrus developer turns you away and tells you to contact me, then he just doesn't want to deal with your problem. And please, don't forget I am not the developer of uBlock Origin who is gorhill and unfortunately stopped development a few years ago! I am just providing here a special mod of the legacy extension uBlock Origin to fix a couple of issues and to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

Nope, that's not how this game works. Epyrus != InterLink && Epyrus != MailNews Therefore, if the extension doesn't work on it as-is, it must be adapted. Extensions must be tailored to the application they extend, it's always been this way.

Work did "catch me" using 360Chrome on my lab benches and "slapped my hand" with an IT Warning. So technically I no longer use 360Chrome during office hours. IT didn't like build 2044! I did not track down if it was something about build 2044 that put me on their radar. Build 2044 was very early in its infancy when IT slapped my hand for using it at work. Personally, I have never never NEVER trusted "newer" versions of 360Chrome - while some v86 "engine" compiling is possible (but unproven!) with "newer" UPSTREAM builds, what IS IS IS provable is the ADDED telemetry with every new UPSTREAM build that we just REMOVE here at MSFN anyway.

Humming Owl abandoned his a very very long time ago. He even has a post here somewhere stating that he will no longer be updating any of his modified browsers. He did use public archive sites so despite the project being "abandonware", the downloads are still available. I have abandoned all EXCEPT the Redux release. Despite being on Win10 nowadays, I still use my own Redux release the vast majority of the time (with Official Ungoogled Chromium v114 the remainder of the time). I actually PREFER 360Chrome to Ungoogled Chromium v114 even though 360Chrome is SLOWER. I prefer the drag-and-drop auto-maximize, I prefer the ease of customizing the GUI, I prefer the ease of customizing context menus, the list is endless. And perhaps at the VERY TOP of that list, 360Chrome has a TITLE BAR! I really really hate hate HATE how Chrome abandoned a real TITLE BAR! It's not quite to the point of triggering a migraine or a seizure of some sort, but I NEED TITLE BARS!

Blade Runner is one of my favorite films! I’m not that particular about which cut, and I don’t think I ever saw the working print. In recent months I have watched both the so-called Director’s Cut and the so-called Final Cut, and there was very little difference between them. (I think director Ridley Scott would suggest the Final Cut.) Believe it or not, most Americans are not familiar with this excellent film: Mostly just science fiction fans like myself. American audiences in 1982 did not want to see their hero Harrison Ford shoot a woman in the back - never mind if this woman was a “replicant” and his job was to “retire” replicants - so Blade Runner is a cult movie. I must be rather sensitive myself, because Rutger Hauer’s last scene sometimes makes me cry. Who was more human in the end, the human or the replicant? The moral implications of creating artificial beings very much like ourselves are the theme of this film. Wouldn’t we have some moral responsibility toward such beings? Another good film with the same theme is A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001). Stanley Kubrick was initially developing that film, but his health failed and Steven Spielberg adopted the project. This one is almost suitable for children, but perhaps not quite despite its PG-13 rating.

With my ±20 year old pc (AMD Athlon XP 3200+ and ATI Radeon HD 3850 (AGP)) watching Youtube videos in-browser is next to impossible, because of the 100% cpu-utilization. It's just too slow. The videocard however does support hardware video-decoding of H.264 up to 1080p. To watch and/or download Youtube videos I always use (my own) simple Youtube-extractor + the latest still working MPC-HC on WinXP to watch, or - of course - my own WinXP compatible FFmpeg builds to download. My Youtube-extractor is part of an XQuery function module, Xivid, for the command-line tool Xidel (an XML/HTML/JSON parser). It's a simple extractor, in the sense that it doesn't support age-gated-videos. You'd still need youtube-dl / yt-dlp for that. But for "normal" videos, the vast majority I come across, it works absolutely fine and because it doesn't depend on Python it's multitudes faster (on my old system). The extractor uses the Android API call, which means there's no bandwidth-throttling or a need to decrypt signatures. Extracting Xidel 0.9.9.8787 or newer. For WinXP download the "openssl.win32"-variant! Besides 'xidel.exe', don't forget to extract 'cacert.pem' as well. Alternatively you could download one from my host, which are much smaller because I removed the "debug symbols". OpenSSL 3.3.1 dll-files to be able to open and process virtually any https-url nowadays. Put them in the same map as 'xidel.exe', in 'C:\Windows\system32', or somewhere in %PATH%. 'xivid.xqm'. My XQuery function module with the xivid:youtube() function declaration. Watching The latest still working MPC-HC on WinXP and my (non SSE2) cpu. There may be some newer releases than this one that might still work on WinXP, but then you'll need an SSE2 cpu. LAVFiltersXP 0.70.2. Special LAVFilters release where libavformat is compiled with GnuTLS for https-support. There's a newer release, but it instantly crashes on my system. standalone_filters-mpc-be.1.4.6.x86.7z for 'MPCVideoDec.ax', the DXVA1 hardware video-decoder (which LAVFilters lacks). MPC-BE 1.4.6 is the latest official WinXP compatible release. Alternatively you could download standalone_filters-mpc-be.1.4.7.0.x86.(VS2015).7z. This is an unofficial backported WinXP compatible release, which also works fine on my system. From 'MPC-HC.1.7.11.24.x86.7z' extract everything except the "LAVFilters"-map. From 'LAVFiltersXP-0.70.2-beta2-x86.zip' extract - at least - the manifest-file, all dll-files and ax-files to 'MPC-HC.1.7.11.24.x86\LAVFilters'. From 'standalone_filters-mpc-be.1.4.6.x86.7z' extract 'MPCVideoDec.ax' anywhere you want basically. Then finally in MPC-HC: Options --> External Filters --> Add Filter... --> Browse... --> select 'MPCVideoDec.ax' --> tick the "Prefer"-box. This way you can watch most* https progressive-, DASH- and HLS-videostreams with your gpu doing the video-decoding. Downloading My FFmpeg builds obviously. Nothing more to say. Discussion on Doom9 Forum. Command-lines The most basic Xidel-call for a Youtube-video would be... xidel.exe -s --module=xivid.xqm -e "xivid:youtube('https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ')" xidel.exe -s --module=xivid.xqm -e "xivid:youtube('dQw4w9WgXcQ')" ...which returns a JSON with all the different audio- and video formats. The first one was the most limited, the one from ungap should be the middle ground, the most complete is the one from core-js. Do the read the notes as it is said structuredClone cannot be polyfilled in its entirety. It's probably common for such code to be packaged in a way to be easily reusable in an environment not limited to a web browser and more easily maitainable/studiable by separating it into multiple smaller modules. The repo from ungap has it packaged in two ways (in order for it to be split in multiple modules), the one in cjs folder using CommonJS format usable outside of web browsers and the one in ecs folder using ECMAScript 6 standard's module imports using import/export in a web browser. Except I haven't heard of user scripts that are split into multiple modules, so going off from /ecs/index.js, I've put everything into one file, removing import/export and added the statement attaching the structuredClone function to the global object.

Don't mind at all Thank you, I don't mind but the posting you were referring to was when I was on different medicine and now that changed. They change and I'm now on a lot (over-medicated) and hope to come off of some of it to tell you the truth. Good to hear you don't have depression but I also have Agoraphobia and GAD ... medication doesn't help too much and we learn to live with it and take the good with the (mostly) bad and accept that there is noting wrong with being indoors, so long as its not debilitating; and that is where we run into trouble when we FEAR leaving the house. I've come a long way using radical acceptance and I now don't see it as I'm trapped as I love being inside with my plant, but I do get it and try to get out for even short spots and take it slow. How are you doing now with the Agoraphobia, Rob? That's great to hear, bud, I hope they continue to help you will and you will (you will) learn to cope in healthy ways going forward with this awful disorder. "It's complicated." I could illustrate some Ghidra flowcharts to answer this if you truly want a complex answer to a complex question. It's something even Opera used to do, I think it was called Opera Mini but I'd have to revisit. The web browser world calls them "loaders" - Opera, PortableApps, winPenPack, X-Chromium, Portable PaleMoon... MAME would call them "front ends". Other similar apps would be called "wrappers" or "sandboxes". 360Chrome's "loader" is more of a "loader plus wrapper" utility. You don't need the "loader" to launch 360Chrome (ie, HummingOwl versions do not contain the "loader"). I use the "loader" because it doubles as a "wrapper". Which is just a generic term that was shortened from what it does - "registry wrapper". I limit the number of programs that are allowed to KEEP data in my Windows Registry. The 360Chrome "loader" stores/redirects registry read/writes to a local .reg. 1000 people will have 500 definitions of what is meant by a browser being "portable", this loader-controlled .reg carried from one computer to the next is "part of" being "portable".
