  1. What is particularly perfidious is that the guys from Wise have probably deliberately hidden the information about the update status in order to avoid negative feedback. In previous versions, this update status was available. I consider this to be dubious and interpret this concealment tactic as a pretence of a sense of security on the part of the user. This is definitely a no-go.

  2. Portable flags do not work for Supermium. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/107

  3. There can't be different meanings since Supermium will reset your profile to the initial state, level zero. Meaning not only login data, but also extensions.

  4. Steps to reproduce. Copy the folder with Supermium to another PC. Now start it, Supermium will reset your profile to the initial state, level zero.

  5. No, Supermium is not portable, it never was.

  6. I didn't leave this conversation, so it is utterly rude to refer to me as "he" in my presence. Making assumptions regarding my knowledge is flagrantly rude, too. Implying I can't read or "does not have the knowledge to understand" is simply unacceptable, I fail to guess why are you still allowed to do that. I don't understand your generally hostile attitude on the website. Despite the fact we (D.Draker and I) already explained it to you many times, provided with scientific proof, we ,of course, did it in a very polite form. (link 1), (link 2) Yet you continue to aggressively argue, post off-topic and derail the thread with non-related matters, unspeakable behaviour and disrespect.

  7. Ok i check it and it is out of date. That is why they give the pro version for free

  8. Again, please stop with getting personal, please stop with the thread derailment, I you want to discuss uBlock and its tweaks, do it in another thread. Please stop with provocations, I'm not going to fight with you, despite you giving me names. I'm here only for what this forum is supposed to be. I decide for myself whether I want to ignore you posts, especially if they are erroneous, misleading, etc.

  10. supermium 119 is finally there, with vista sp2 native support without extended kernel: https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/releases/tag/v119

  11. Supermium moves to the stable branch (version 119/120) at the end of this month when the next release will be made. This should reduce the number of upstream-inherited bugs. GDI rendering should be perfected for this release as well and there will be an option to disable prompts for "unsafe downloads" (and avoid having a sample of the downloaded file possibly being sent to Google). The GDI option in particular will have improved rendering of remote fonts over Vista-level DirectWrite.

  12. I have also font awesome 5 and 4.7

  13. i don't know how i did it but i fixed
    1 point
  14. This could be faulty. 4.7 is available on fontawesome.com, too. Or look into folder webfonts of the ...web.zip's. There you find ttf. The question is also, whether you're the only one having the problem. I haven't installed Supermium, so I can't test and verify this.

  16. There's nothing to "debate over" since the author of Supermium doesn't provide the portability in any form or shape, But he promises to consider. https://github.com/win32ss/supermium/issues/107#issuecomment-1839998949

  17. While reading is good, fancy to share your personal experience with Supermium on Vista x64? I'll then maybe consider switching from Vista x86 to Vista x64.

  22. Hi. First: thanks. Ctrl-F'd 'fonts' through this thread, couldn't find an answer. For me, on Vista x64, there's a missing font (see attached), any idea what it is? Thanks again for both the browser and extended kernel.

  23. This is not a thread about Windows 10, Windows XP or even extended kernel for Vista x64. I’ve been reading good things about Supermium at other forums lately. Kudos to @win32 for this remarkable achievement!

  24. Well, then it's not portable. Ungoogled is fully portable by using only the two flags, everything is saved, and no need to complicate life with any third party tools.

  25. I hope you don't mind me replying to this. Not sure about the industrial espionage, but stealing data from private users and later selling it to advertisers is a very well known and documented issue. I've never used that browser. Google says that user (you're referring to) is native Russian, not Ukrainian, if it helps you. (determined by the errors he makes in English) Could you please elaborate about the lights flashing? I was under the impression this was only Chrome related.

  26. Should i be worried? Are we being Shanghaied into exfiltrating valuable state & industrial secrets safeguarded on our XP HDDs? Is Mypal safe, or is Feodor1 a.k.a. Feodor2 a stealthy Ukrainian operative, and his lovable coon but a masked Trojan horse in disguise? Posting from Mypal now, and my drive light is flashing...

  27. That's why I still didn't write my own portable starter programme for that browser. One of the reasons.

  29. I'm curious what will be the necessary ressources on XP to operate fluently.

  30. You're very welcome to not reply, I'm just pointing out to the facts and your gross exaggerations, like "all experts". So no articles with "all security experts" voting for uBo to fight WebP then? Btw, you didn't even fulfil any of my "useless" requests. Raymond Hill is the author of uBlock, he can't be considered as an expert with independent views. I don't have anything against uBlock in particular, it's just the fact - in this case uBlock can't do anything to WebP at all, so it's not only off-topic, it's called misleading people. Again, I'm pointing out to the facts, no need to be rude. I suggest you stick to the facts, too, and please watch your behaviour. So far, you aren't giving me anything to "study" on. Most importantly - Raymond Hill never claimed uBlock can defeat WebP, if you still insist he did, please give an article.

  31. The information for the last updating of the virus definitions should be shown in the tab Quick Check. Look at my picture!

  32. Thanks for testing and reporting! Unfortunately, you tested it under Windows Vista. However, this thread is targeting Windows XP exclusively. Under Windows XP, Wise Anti Malware does not work anymore and must be considered abandoned. Although off-topic, I would be interested to know when the last virus definitions were that you loaded under Windows Vista. This cannot be determined from your pictures.

  33. It has nothing to do with scepticism, it's just caution! "mistymntncop" looks like a random account on github, nothing official. Has no projects: https://github.com/mistymntncop?tab=projects Not even a description of who that man (woman?) is.

  35. Everyone can laugh however he or she wants. But what you do here in public readable or visible for all visitors of this forum is a completely different matter. Especially when someone asks for help. And BTW, I couldn't care less whether it's this one or that one who behaves like that. That doesn't make it any better.
    1 point
  36. I personally think it's inappropriate and rather rude to laugh at someone who uses old hardware and has to wait much longer for tasks to be completed than on a powerful computer. And there are people who are attached to their old computers and don't follow the disposal mania of our society. Just to clarify, SSE or SSE2 instruction sets are exclusive features of a CPU. These are specific instruction sets that can be addressed by programmes such as browsers. An SSE release of a browser therefore uses at most the SSE instruction set of a CPU and does not contain any code for instructions which need the SSE2 instruction set or higher. Therefore, your statement "these UXP browsers have an SSE without SSE2" does not make sense as a browser is not a CPU. And you see, I don't laugh at such statements, either.

  37. Hello again @anton12! My Windows XP computer is equipped with a P4 CPU and 1.5 GB SD-RAM. This machine is very reliable, too. Windows XP or Windows 2000 are definitely good choices for such old computers. So, I understand you very well. In any case, your CPU definitely lacks the SEE2 instruction set. That's the reason you are running SSE or IA32 builds of New Moon and Serpent. When one uses old hardware like we do, one has to accept the fact that many modern websites can no longer be accessed properly. That is why I have written what I do in such cases. Maybe, the coming SSE build of Mypal 68 is your last chance (but I assume it won't work either as the HUK24 websites most probably uses SSE2 instructions) but generally I would feed a more recent system with such cumbersome websites. I do this by throwing crappy websites like this at my Android 9 tablet. Even there, you have to use devices equipped with Android 5 or up to run most recent browsers which are very often needed for such modern, bloated websites. Kind regards, AstroSkipper

  38. That's precisely what I warned about, with that "fix" non-savvy people will get the wrong feeling of safety, and then infect themselves with WebP. So perhaps I agree with you, better to do nothing than relax yourself with such "solutions". I'm not sure about the chance/infection rate. Who are you, I don't remember. I recently fell off the second floor of a hooch we were clearing up in a far away country, so it could reflect on my memory. The floor simply didn't hold my weight, I'm tall.

  39. I'm sorry to repeat myself again, it's not the picture I was talking about. Here's the one, in webp format, it says it's jpeg, when if fact it is NOT, I don't know how else to explain it to you, ask the website supervisor to check it then! It only pretends to be jpeg, it's NOT jpeg, it's WEBP, are you familiar with WinHex, open the file in it, you will see it's WEBP, (link to my screenshot) here the link to the picture with FAKE jpeg, click on it to save, you will get WEBP (not jpeg!) https://media.greenmatters.com/brand-img/A9FOjrk4U/2160x1130/super-natural-disney-plus-1663705823978.jpeg?position=top

  40. No, I'm talking about the first picture, the one that has ‘Super/Natural’ text in it, this screenshot shows the second one, you need to right click on it, choose save, it will save as WEBP.

  41. HW installed Vista 64 sp2 (without extended kernel) just to try it. Works, posting from it now. The installer worked for me, but nothing showed up in the start menu. Had to search for chrome.exe, which was in C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\Supermium\Application.

  42. That's pretty good advice if it's just the cost of a new system that's holding you back. I think that's true for some. But I also know several XP users just prefer the XP UI to more recent Windows versions, and they don't even want to switch to Win 7 (to say nothing of 10!) I doubt they'd be very comfortable with a Linux UI; those folks may be willing to go to more extreme measures to stay on XP. There's also the intangible "thrill factor" of making XP (or even Vista or 7) run programs that Micro$oft, Google, etc. have tried very hard to keep them from running (like modern Chromium)

  43. The name of that project really doesn't say anything to those that don't know it, OneCore is a library that Windows application developers may use to link their applications against. Windows umbrella libraries I know this one, Controller Area Network. The previous car of mine must have used K-Line.

  44. This is how Supermium actually looks like on Windows XP with OCAPI (and with buggy GDI rendering enabled by using XP comp + --single-process). But Dibya accidentally used the wrong picture from OCAPI Github issues about someone managed to run crac_ked Chrome on XP.

  45. Hello everyone. I just finished re-adding GDI to Supermium. At first it would only work in --single-process mode, but I got it working in standard mode by ensuring that FontCache objects have the Skia GDI font manager when GDI is enabled. Then I want to fix TLS, readd D3D9 DXVA support, and link Supermium against a DLL with implementations of many newer functions. I have fixed my PMs if you are interested.
