Jeremy Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Famer, try keeping cmdial32.dll, it's part of the Connection Manager, which is needed for Dial-Up/DSL PPPoE connections.

gdogg Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 (edited) since i was trying to make a virus immune windowsi tested it yesterday, tried one .com virus, (made sure cmd.ex was gone first) failedand then tried a .zip virus (made sure, programs couldn't execute in that directory )and all testing went welli couldn't even infectect myself with a virus, so no need for an AV on this side of windows now sure I could infect myself, if i really wanted, but i was testing to make sure , when i accidently get one, it doesn't infected me , Edited August 23, 2005 by gdogg

superleiw Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 How did you remove those OEMBIOS files???I want to remove those without using minlogonI tried manually removing them on my computer with the corporate edition at work but now it cant go into windows . It is giving me the following message : windows failed to check the itegrity (or validity) of blabla... Error Code xxxxxI thought that would only happen to the Home version ?????
gdogg Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 (edited) simple, use minlogonor dont remove themdoing so will just cause you a head achehome version it where it wouldn't happenunless its removed with the nlite remove box, where it will cause this errors too Edited August 24, 2005 by gdogg
dirtwarrior Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Just curiousMy embedded cd has winlogon as well as minlogon. The winlogon included in xp embedded would it have the same effect as using minlogon/ faster boot times . lower comitt etc
gdogg Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 not sure, probally not, as it is winlogonone thing i noticed about winlogon, is you can disable, the things winlogon woun't normally let you doheres what i meanin spybot s&d , winlogon startsAtiExtEventcrypt32chaincryptnetcscdllScCertPropSensLognWlballooni dont have any of those run @ startup with minlogon
dirtwarrior Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You want me to send you the winlogon from my embedded cd? Have you a chance to mess with the 1 from starter edition?
