Clint
Heh, dirt..you lazy warrior! @ Fridge..if you use my regtweak you need to check it against the "GONE" files you are not removing so you are not removing any entries for them.and I see that you are removing "Driver Cache"....is that wise? You can also remove this from the regfile:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.hta]@="hta_auto_file"[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\hta_auto_file\shell\open\command]@="\"C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\mshta.exe\" \"%1\""it's for WPI purposes, doesn't apply here. kai445
(...)- several megabytes of well coded programs that run straight from the folder, without countless registry entries.(...)Holy crap, that gave me an idea for my future cd's. All the apps I want preinstalled will be ones that I dump in the $OEM$\$Progs folder, and this way I'll only have to script making the shortcuts in my startmenu... which will keep my reg mostly clean.Until I run the apps and they create whatever reg files they absolutely need. But still, this is easier than switches and crap.

I just copy over the needed files, shortcuts and a few regentries....it involves some preparation initially but is well worth the time invested Edited August 3, 2005 by Clint

Clint
Fridge, I think you should just remove those "clint" referenses...it confuses ppl I think....only generates more questions."my regtweaks, to be used at T12 just like clints, with the $OEM folder way" ...for example. ..there was a guy asked what clints is...hehe!just keep my name out of it...only confusing for the poor newcomers with "clint this" and "clints that"...wasnt ment to be used like this anyway.. superleiw
If you want to stop services, not just disabling them using the Registry methodcreate a new command file and use this :net stop "Automatic Updates"net stop "Computer Browser"net stop "Distributed Link Tracking Client"net stop "Help and Support"net stop "Server""net stop "System Event Notification"net stop "System Restore Service"net stop "Task Scheduler"net stop "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper"net stop "Themes"net stop "Upload Manager"net stop "WebClient"net stop "Windows Time"net stop "Workstation"net stop "System Event Notification"net stop "COM+ Event System"net stop "Network Location Awareness (NLA)"net stop "Remote Access Auto Connection Manager"net stop "SSDP Discovery Service"etcthat way you can remove files related to those services without rebooting, I think-not tested yet if it works during windows installation phase Edited August 3, 2005 by superleiw
