VxKex (extended kernel) project dissapeared

I haven't tried out VxKex yet.

IIRC there was a report made about some links posted, which may or may not have been connected, but now I can't even find that, so I'm afraid I'm as puzzled as everyone else as to what happened here!

The links post was "hidden" but someone quoted it. I don't particularly feel there is need to hide that type of information, We can find such things exist, and then others can post that it is false, a mirror (authorized or not) on github, or has bad/incomplete data. That is correcting the record and is fine. That way someone can know what those links are and not have to guess.

I'm very sorry, the post has been edited to remove the links in question. But I didn't report the post, I just asked why, someone else did.

Could you please tell us why the developer account now gone here, too? It's perfectly fine, if you can't. The "inner kitchen" and whatnot, I understand. Thank you.

Normally we only will delete accounts if a user is in EU and sends a properly formatted GDPR request but I do not know if that is what happened here.

Another reason may be if the user had a temporary email domain on their account, as it says in the rules, sometimes accounts tied to those get purged.

I had a post in here. It's gone now. Why was it deleted? I didn't do that.

The only remnants of it are from someone who quoted my now-redacted post. The quoter in question falsely accuses the forks of VxKex (links I shared to help document this issue) to be "fake", even though they clearly originate from VxKex and possessing no changes. Perhaps he fails to understand github? Did this quoter have the power to delete my post under the premise of the lie he put forth?

Otherwise, it must have been a moderator. In that case, what rule was violated by my post? I didn't receive any message explaining a violation of MSFN rules. I fail to see how my post of accurate documentation on the reality of the VxKex situation violated MSFN T&C.

Please explain why my post was removed without warning.

Moderators do not owe any warning.  Totally at their discretion if they heed to your enquiry.  You weren't banned.  So you were given the "benefit of the doubt".  If I were you (I have been in those shoes), I would just leave it at that and "let the dust settle".

There was some concern (by someone or multiple) that the software contained in one of the links was "dangerous" which was communicated in a report and an Admin hid the post. As I posted above, it was not deleted.

Did you read the rules? It's always advisable to read them, now it may be too late.

Since the flame war has ended, it is a good time to think about the future of VxKex.

By my understanding the best project to continue with is the BeitDina / VxKex fork. It has the whole source posted on Github, with last available version of 1.0.0.999. It appears to be compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

There are many forks (some are sadly even fake)

but What I was able to find is this

 

https://github.com/i486/VxKex/ -- issue page is enabled (also has donation page, so maybe this is the way forward?, the guy also cares about compatibility because I saw him comment on projects of that nature)
https://github.com/commandcontrolQ/VxKex -- issue page is disabled (the guy explains he has no plans to maintain it)
https://github.com/BeitDina/VxKex -- issue page is disabled (probably similar story, or issues are supposed to be tracked elsewhere or the guy just forgot you need to re-enable issues if u fork the repo)

 

Funny thing is that if u write Windows 7 extended kernel on google or VxKex you still get search results for original repo that does not even exist anymore

Not sure that here is the right place, the developer account at MSFN got deleted, we don't know the reason. Probably, it's unwanted content for MSFN, too.
