Hunterw Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Tried mypal. Review: Seems quite nice. But it's sort of like those Linux setups where it's all perfect until you try to do anything. Issues encountered: Couldn't find good extensions. All I wanted was an adblock/element blocker and a useragent. I tried to figure it out and just wasted time. The browser can't handle memory. As they say, the browser is capped at 1.5GB per process. Uhm, that's not an issue any other browser has, including 360EE. The crashing. Maybe they are also capped at 1.5GB per process. I don't care. They unload it or use virtual memory, whatever they do, you can scroll down a page a bit without a crash. Some pages you can only get to the old stuff by scrolling (trash design, but here we are). So it's a, uh, not a work browser. There was this annoying issue where there was a flashing cursor on the left side of things, including full screen video playback. I reported it. There was also a thing where YouTube's caption text was really pixellated. I read that there were issues with fonts for some reason. Anyway, all in all, it's something - I tested out 360EE and it's basically unusable now. I don't know why. Pages just aren't loading - even google.com. Maybe some kind of useragent filtering? What happened to the days when every damn page would load no matter how broken it was, and security was your business? 1

Have you tried uBlock Origin ? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/versions/ I'm using version 1.57.2 with the latest release of Mypal. 2 hours ago, Hunterw said: The browser can't handle memory. exogenesis Posted May 2 Posted May 2 What way do we use to find information of all extensions, that will show us those that are multi-process capable and those that are not. Is there an about:about type of page we can view for this or another way

feodor2 Posted May 2 Posted May 2 @exogenesis Try updated SSE version, I have put another ucrt which to be good with pentuim3 About addons they are all made for multiprocess long before 68, but some things may not work in the single process, no time to investigate as not important.

exogenesis Posted May 2 Posted May 2 About addons I was thinking maybe an extra feature like NewMoon_(PaleMoon) has about:performance where selecting more on an add-on will show more information. Maybe this could be use to show us also real time how the add-on is performing in MyPal So user can make a better decision whether or not to keep the add-on. Maybe if you decide on it an idea for later.
AstroSkipper Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Forget the about:performance page! It has never been reporting memory usage correctly and reflecting the true values. Here is a comment from a developer: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1744869 And a quote from there: Quote about:performance is known to under-report memory. I can confirm this statement. It always has been a junk feature. 3

I was trying to get chrome extensions on it and then found the official MyPal extension page which didn't have much. System is XP-32, 4GB (2.99 recognized). Someone got back to me about the cursor thing saying it's this weird Firefox accessibility feature that is toggled with F7. Well, I sure didn't turn it on. It was on by default. As for turning it off, I haven't been back in XP since then and it does not happen in Win 7.

Which official MyPal extension page? There is none. Extensions for Mypal 68 have to be downloaded from the official Firefox Add-ons page, i.e. from addons.mozilla.org. 3
