Tihiy Posted November 24, 2024 Author Posted November 24, 2024 Dark mode checkboxes are custom-drawn (mainly for 21H2 compat). This will be fixed someday 1
mk2k Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 1. The Use new font for classic UI checkbox works on the desktop icons, Explorer UI, date and time in the tray and most of the Start menu elements, but taskbar labels stay in the old Segoe UI, so it looks jarring next to the updated date and time in the tray. Any way to make the taskbar labels follow suit? 2. With transparency disabled (energy saver on my laptop) I see this visual glitch when switching between dark and light themes (taskbar label color changes to black but the taskbar background does not). The only fix is to toggle transparency back on (then off again). Is this fixable? Thanks for taking a look. 2

Hiroki-H Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 (edited) I am using Windows 11 64bit 10.0.27754.1000 with SAB 3.8.13. With this canary version, Any title bar color don't become accent color. Dark mode, title bar is Black. Light mode is light white. I don't know whether this phenomenon comes from SAB or Win11 canary. Uiti P. Uszer Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) I'm running 3.8.13 and I have a weird issue of, if you either right click a Desktop icon or right click any file in File Explorer, the whole Windows shell crashes and then restarts. I am using the Win 7 SAB theme settings. I have gone through Add / Remove Programs and made sure that I'm not running any conflicting programs with SAB such as Explorer Patcher, Old New Explorer, Open shell, etc and I'm not running any of those. I have also had this issue occur on an 11 VM that I was testing SAB on prior. If anyone knows the fix to this issue, I'd be grateful. Edited November 29, 2024 by Uiti P. Uszer
Tihiy Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 Provide crash dump. Likely you have shell extensions misbehaving.

Tihiy, thank you for your troubleshooting guidance. I downloaded ShellEXview and went through the list disabling any suspect looking shell extensions. The culprit was a shell extension belonging to a program called "Explorer Context Menu Tweaker" (which never caused any right click menu issues under Win10, but I just upgraded this machine to 11 two days ago). Thanks again for the support, now my right click menus work fine again. Edited November 30, 2024 by Uiti P. Uszer
Deez Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Starting to use auto hide feature, but whenever I restart my computer, it does not auto hide unless I restart explorer.exe. Toggling in the app or in the windows settings does not do anything. click-click Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) I had Classic context menus enabled and this also worked for all desktop objects such as This PC . I recently inadvertantly unchecked this item in Make it top notch. I re-enabled it, but now all desktop items still show the new context menu instead of the classic one. All other items not on the desktop show the classic menu after it was re-enabed. How do I also get back classic context menu for the items on the desktop? I'm at 3.8.13 and using Windows 11 Pro 22631.4460 or Windows 11 LTSC 26100.2314 Edit: I'm not sure if StartAllBack ever supported the issue describe above, but I may have applied the following reg file previuosly, which got undone by unchecking the Startallback Context menu option. reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve The above command brings back the Classic contect menu for the Desktop items too. Jappleack Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Hi, guys! When i right-click on the taskbar instead of context menu shows up this rectangle without text. Any help?
-RKI- Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 (edited) I noticed another bug in SAB 3.8.13. Programs launched outside the start menu are not added as recently opened on the start menu home page. Previously, when I opened a program, e.g. from a shortcut on the desktop, it would appear in the start menu after a while. Now it doesn't appear in the start menu. However, programs opened directly from the start menu appear normally on the start menu home page. Very strange behavior. Just in case, I would like to emphasize that my settings are fine, the number of icons for displayed programs is appropriate, and I have the option to remember recently launched programs enabled. My system is a fully updated Windows 11 23H2. @Tihiy Could you take a look at this? I'd be grateful. Steps to reproduce this issue: -In the advanced SAB settings, enable "remember recently launched programs" -In the "start menu" option, make sure you have set the appropriate number of icons to be displayed -Now in advanced settings clear the list of recently opened programs Now the most important thing! You must have the shortcut or program you are opening in the start menu, e.g. in the all programs submenu. Many programs are added there by default during installation -Open this program from a different place than the start menu, e.g. from a shortcut on the desktop (I open 7zip manager from the desktop shortcut I created earlier) -Check the main page of the start menu. There is nothing there, it shouldn't be like that. -Now open the same program but not from a shortcut but directly using the start menu (I open 7zip manager from the shortcut in the 7zip folder in all programs submenu) -Check the main page of the start menu. The program you opened through the start menu should be there. Edited November 30, 2024 by -RKI-

Verstappen Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Found a bug: "Win + Ctrl + Num x" may bring the wrong window into focus. Running on Win11 (24H2 26100.2454) How to reproduce: Say we have 2 windows grouped at the 2nd position on the taskbar. Focus on the 1st window of this 2nd group. Press "Win + Ctrl + Num 2" to switch to the 2nd window of the 2nd group. Switch to another window of another group by using the mouse to click on the taskbar the target window.(Do NOT use "Win + Ctrl + Num x" in this step) Press "Win + Ctrl + Num 2". After the last step, it focuses on the 1st window of the 2nd group (should've focused on the 2nd window of the 2nd group). Note that using "Win + Ctrl + Num x" in the 3rd step to switch to another window of another group doesn't trigger this bug and the stock taskbar also works as expected. Please fix this. Though it's a small quirk, it's quite annoying as I always found myself bringing up the wrong window when I worked between windows belonging to two groups. Thanks. 1
