The new '- Explorer' Suffix fix hides everything that follows after the last hyphen.

SAB 3.8.12 is installed.

This is how it is now:

This is how it is expected:

SAB works great for me apart from Google Chrome - its progress bar (e.g. when downloading) is broken and doesn't show the actual progress. Instead it "opalizes" like it was unknown of what file size is, while it's not true. All other progress bars work perfectly.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

@Tihiy Any idea what changed after 3.8.7 that causes the autohide to not hide after a taskbar button has a flashing notification. Version 3.8.7 seems to be the last version that was stable to autohide with any notification. Anything after that version refuses to autohide until you check the flashing taskbar button. For now I have had to remain on 3.8.7 but I check each new update to see if any changes fixes the issue.

Here is a small video of what I mean with the taskbar behavior. The taskbar will stay open permanently till clicked. Currently on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.2161

Edit: You will probably have to open the video in a new tab for the full size. The upload here came out real small to see.

Well if you follow changes in this garbage dump thread in reverse you'll see it was intentional behavior missing in 3.8.x. No, it won't be reverted. Disable taskbar flashing if it burns.

I do not get this attitude, seriously. You act like we all collectively p***ed in your porridge or something, when we ask about some features being changed or missing.

If the thread is such a garbage dump, whatever that means to you, you can chose not to answer. But instead of you act bitter and make people who actually paid for your software and who ask actual questions in regards to it, feel like they wronged you in some way. Silly attitude, in my humble opinion. The same with deleting posts just because you don't like the questions. Not to mention the double standards, the entire software is about modifying the start menu, taskbar and some other features, but somehow, when some people ask for some features that were present, they are told said feature "breaks functionality" or changed functionality, well doooh, that's the purpose of the software. Yet some other requests are implemented, those apparently do not break functionality and do not modify functionality.
You could simply say you do the software as you like, which is fair, in which case, put it in the rules and that's it, no requests, only report bugs. So many ways to make this happen without the p*** poor attitude.

Nobody forced you to open this garbage dump thread, nobody forced you to offer support anywhere but on the official email or whatever.

Well, I'm sorry. You're right, this feels bad. I've tried to outline a method to my madness; but feedback process still needs improvements.
In your case, I've answered about your feedback on different forum and was wrong to hide it here.

I get it feels bad, just make the rules in such a way it does not feel bad for you, because then everybody feels bad :)

I have have the same username on that forum, I never asked there, some other guy did. Just to clarify, I am very happy with the software and I do recommend it to anyone who cares to listen to me, lol. And I also understand having a method to madness, which is why I use SAB in the first place, I want things a certain way :)

Well thanks for the response. I did see the change but I was not sure exactly if it meant fixing just the task bar not unhiding and then hiding back to normal or completely keeps it from hiding. I guess I will have to stick to 3.8.7 then. As for the taskbar flashing, I did disable that but it kept the taskbar up so I ended up turning it back on. I just found it a bit annoying having to click the taskbar each time if I wanted it to hide again.

Hi @Tihiy

How can I enable search bar in start menu on SAB 3.8.13? In the previous version there were two options for this under the "Start Menu" tab in properties. Now those options are not there. There are only "use large icons" and "use the drop-down menu" and checking both of these not enable search bar and my start menu looks like this. Pls help. 😕

Yep, hopefully you're the only one who used those. https://startallback.com/download.php?v=3.8.12

Yes I used this options quite often and I don't know if I was the only one or not although I think it would be nice to have the option to enable this bar normally again like it was before without having to revert to the old version of SAB. After all it's better to have the options than not to have it? It wasn't hurting anyone. I would be very grateful if you could do something about it. 🙏

Edit:

I think that in addition to the missing options to enable the search bar I have found another slightly different problem related to the large search icons and the drop-down search menu options in "Start Menu" tab on SAB 3.8.13. It's about some kind of conflict with toolbars. When these options or one of them is enabled and after that you will search for something via start menu search bar and at the end you will be try to add some toolbar to the taskbar you will only see explorer window with icons without folder/files names. This makes very difficult to add a new toolbar.

Steps to reproduce this issue:

-Go to the StartAllBack settings

-In the "Start Menu" tab enable "Use big search icons" and/or  "Use drop-down search menu"

-Close settings and search for something using start menu search bar

-Close start menu, unlock the taskbar and try to add some toolbar using toolbar menu

-Problem should be visible stright away. For me it looks like this:

Would it be possible to get flyout menu support on Control Panel? Only thing i miss from ClassicShell that StartAllBack doesn't have.

That's always been supported – look in the Settings → Start Menu → scroll down to Right side items → Control Panel.
