VIDEO link: https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/zero-to-200-kph-in-one-second-running-away-not-an-option

WHY this .mp4 video (of 7 seconds only) doesn't run on any of 360Chrome v13.5, v13, v12 builds, and DcBrowser, BUT run on v11 ...

In the Console:

Access to fetch at 'https://trends.newsmaxwidget.com/api/demand/?w=167482&wlw=newsmaxwidget.com' from origin 'https://halturnerradioshow.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: The value of the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header in the response must not be the wildcard '*' when the request's credentials mode is 'include'.

... and:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)

Interesting.  Is your E:\ directory a flash drive or a network drive?

No, it's a separate fixed disk which is my archive storage drive, where all my pictures and videos etc. are stored.
It's connected internally to the motherboard, but via an add-on SATA card.
That has never made a difference before, and I can actually use the root of the drive to store downloads, but not the Dump Folder subfolder.
E:\Dump Folder is actually also the "My Documents" folder, if that makes any difference. It certainly doesn't to any other programs.

E:\Dump Folder...

Maybe a dumb question Dave, but any chance the "space" in "E:\Dump Folder" is involved somehow? You might want to try a different folder on E:, one without a space, just for a test.

Cheers and Regards

I did think of that, but it would be a bit ridiculous if 360Chrome couldn't cope with that!
I had actually already tried using its 8.3 DOS name E:\DUMPFOLD but that made no difference.
Further experiments show that I can use the E:\ root as the destination, and a subfolder of E:\Dump Folder as well, e.g. E:\Dump Folder\Test.
Works fine, no problem with spaces then. It seems that the only path I can't use is the one I actually want to use!
I'm still wondering if it's because it's configured as the system "My Documents" folder. Perhaps 360Chrome doesn't like that for some reason.
:dubbio:
I should add that E:\ is a FAT32 formatted drive, so there definitely shouldn't be any permissions problems!
Setting the download folder to E:\Dump Folder\Test Folder also works.
It's only E:\Dump Folder which seems to be "unwritable"!
:D

In DcBrowser video is OK, if "Privacy Settings" extension is set to Enhanced Privacy.

But if set to Full Privacy - NO video play.

Difference: under Enhanced Privacy are ENABLED:

websites.thirdPartyCookiesAllowed

websites.referrerEnabled

In 360Chrome builds 13.5, 13, 12: if DISABLED "No More Referrer" extension - video play OK.!

- so the video needs referrer to play good.

EDIT:

In DcBrowser, video play OK. with "No More Referrer" extension ENABLED too...

Can anyone find download links for OLDER versions of DcBrowser?

I can only find versions  4.0.3.6,  4.0.7.14,  and  4.0.7.22  --  and I need something OLDER.  Perhaps a 3.0.x.y because the GUI in the 4.0.x.y branch is absolutely HORRENDOUS due to the lack of anyway to disable "DirectWrite".  GUI fonts are "squished".  Absolutely HORRENDOUS LOOKING on my system.

No problem with fonts of the GUI in DcBrowser Modified build. Fonts are NICE.

Then sorry to quote this ancient post from September:

It appears as though you might be comparing my v11 to Humming Owl's v12.

My v11 and Humming Owl's v11 both display that "squished in and crowded" font for me.

You could have "squished in and crowded" font on this website above - if DISABLED "Block remote fonts" feature in uBlock O.

That's why I use "Block remote fonts" feature enabled in uBlock O.

I am officially REMOVING DcBrowser from my To-Do List.

Aside from GUI DirectWrite issues (will vary from system to system), it also does not work for American Water (a billpay site that also doesn't work on ANY of Roytam releases [you do not need an account to test, the login does not work on older browsers, not even to tell you that your username/password is incorrect]).
