XPerceniol Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 Ok ... I like this one. https://sourceforge.net/projects/audacityportable/ Once you've download the zip (and scanned and verified its not satanic) only use the following files but save the rest for later if you need them. This is 2.1.1 and requires those dll files and EQDefaultCurves to run, but version 1.6 will run without any other needed files besides the executable itself, but darned if I can find it. Its missing a lot of features though. Version 1.0 was the fastest of all.
XPerceniol Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 @dmiranda you'll like this one, very good IMO. I've uploaded my song and changed the pitch, key, speed, tempo, everything and exported again into an mp3 (which further squashed it). You can see its in the green and the level is where you should be, otherwise, you're in overdrive territory. Have fun recording those old cassettes of a time when we were young and fearless and hot stuff (if I do presume so). Yeah, that might be stretching the truth a bit in my case, but now I'm a broken down old horse that lost the Kentucky Derby. Oh well, they crazy kids got nothin' on us 2
RainyShadow Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 @dmiranda@XPerceniol@Dave-H Just a small note - microphone inputs are very often mono, if your source is stereo better go with line in (or check your specific mic input first). 4

It can be downloaded here - A Windows XP backport of Audacium 3.0.4, a fork of the audio editor Audacity. Hello and nice day, all! I'm working on/with this today and it does work, but I had to locate api files from another project to get it up and running. I was reading from the site, it had telemetry removed, but I'm unsure about that or what that means. Does anybody else on MSFN have any experience with Audacium? Can anybody else confirm this is legit and trustworthy? Thanks

Surely it is all with best intentions, though you cannot expect someone to check all the sourcecode when doing some backporting. 1

Thank you - I didn't know that - good to know others here are aware of that member ... so I'll consider it legit. It does work but not portable so it creates appdata folders, but I use CCleaner for that very purpose and monitor those folders very well. I Appreciate your reply :~) 1

XPerceniol Posted June 24, 2022 Posted June 24, 2022 (edited) Ya know ... I'm thinking (I try to avoid it whenever possible) ... I wonder if we record our old cassettes and 78's with all these programs and hook up the connections as described, maybe, just maybe, we'll bring these old tunes back into style and the clubs will be looking up to us find where they can get these latest dance craze mixes. Gosh, mercy me, we'll be 'all the rage'. Its a circus in my head Remember - you heard it here first Lol... Edited June 24, 2022 by XPerceniol 2
